It wears its influences on its sleeve (Diablo/Fate/Titan Quest...etc) but there's something here you can't find as easily in those games: atmosphere. There's a beautiful and melencholy score which really makes the worlds you visit and even generic enemies seem that much more interesting and there's some puzzles to solve as well as exploration and crafting. A handsome, intriguing game! A few translation errors though.
Although this DLC adds some interesting elements to an otherwise very good game you just can't help feeling that the stuff this DLC adds should have been included in the main game and not sold separetely.
Although the premise of the game seems quite interesting at first( running a police department while dealing with police corruption) unfortunately it fails to live up to its promise and has very limited replaybility after you finish it.
Historically speaking epidemics and diseases were indeed a big thing in the Middle Ages so adding them in Crusader Kings is not unreasonable. However the elements this DLC adds are not that crucial and paying full price for it is not advisable. Wait for a sale.
In all honesty, this is the single best FPA I've played since the Myst and Rhem series.
The environments are beautifully moody, well-rendered, and filled with mindbending puzzles that become more difficult as the game progresses. The storyline is engaging and presented at an excellent pace. And just when you think you have it figured out, there's a twist that blows your mind.
This plays like an old-school adventure game, so pay attention to notes, clues, signs, symbols, and the like. An overall brilliant game, and I hope to see more from this developer...and soon!
...with puzzles that actually challenge and objects that are truly hidden.
Most of today's games in this genre present HO scenes you can complete in 30 seconds, because everything is in plain view. Each HO scene in this game took awhile, and all had interactive objects.
The puzzles ranged from fairly simple to frustratingly complex. One of them took me nearly 30 minutes to complete.
The storyline...if you crossed the movie Jumanji with the Redemption Cemetery series, then improved the gameplay, you'd get this game. The heroine attends a Halloween party at her friend's inherited farmhouse, only to discover a heinous historical plot that has trapped her friends...unless she resolves the ghosts' issues.
The graphics were excellent, with lots of attention to detail, fairly good animation, a beautiful palette, and one of the scariest posers I've ever seen. Play it and tell me you don't jump out of your seat when Jack's fiery spectre appears. I wish more HO games tried this hard.
Spintop games are usually great for hidden object enthusiasts like me.
This one takes it a little bit further, because some objects are harder to find, making it really challenging. You start by collecting objects at two different locations and as the games develops, it takes you to an increasing number of levels to explore, to a maximum of 10 different levels, which it's a great challenge if you're not playing in relaxed mode.
Every level has 3 extra objects to find, find them all to unlock two special features.
The mini-puzzles are nice, although it would be great to have something different from previous games. It get's kind of boring to play the same puzzles and 3-in-a-row across Spintop games.
A lot of the actions you have to perform throughout this game are completely non-intuitive, so you end up having to just randomly guess which items to use where, rather than actually problem-solving. I've found this game more frustrating than fun.
As you'd expect from publisher Telltale games, this title really captures the atmosphere of the series. Involving story and just the right level of puzzling.
Like many, I played and loved this game years ago and was looking to recature the glory days. However despite having some fun moments, gaming has moved on around it. With so many other titles out there with so much more to offer I simply couldn't justify coming back to Monkey Island, no matter how much my 10 year-old self wanted too.
Unfortunately this is one of the weakest if not the weakest of all the DLC's for EU 4. Buy it only if you want to play the full game and only when it's on a sale so as not to pay full price for it.
If there was anything big missing from Cities: Skylines, it was something which could make building your city challenging - Natural Disasters does just that by, well, adding natural disasters.
As the title states, this one holds to the adorable quality standards of the previous two entries in the series. This game is chock-full of head-scratching puzzles and is the longest game so far featuring everyone's favourite lil' gnome.
