Unbelievable!
I bought this one and Assassin Creed 2 Deluxe Edition to run my 15" MB Pro i7, 8GB RAM, GT330M 512MB and what happens? Not playable due to the lags and after applying the patch ConvictionPatch 1.0.1 I cannot start neither AC nor Splinter Cell! -
Playable, Enjoyable, Not Perfect

Conviction does not particularly distinguish itself above other shooters available. It's fun, but not noteworthy. It's stealth element, while a pleasing twist, does not make up for an absolutely terrible story and otherwise acceptable but not incredible gameplay.
Conviction is not like previous titles in the series. Stealth is still a focus but you are no longer exclusively in the shadows - you're encouraged to draw attention to yourself, you can reveal yourself, and you interact with the AI purely through violence. You will not slip past enemies, nor will you attempt to distract, mislead, or incapacitate them. In this way Conviction is a cover-based shooter with plenty of gadgets and a stealth element. It is not, however, the type of shadow-stalking that one associates with the Splinter Cell series and anyone going in expecting a continuation of the series, or at all a similar title, will be disappointed.
The game ran well-enough on my dual-core 3.6GHz i5 but it still slowed down in areas and the always on-line component was an inconvenience that, while not constant, still had a habit of reminding me it was there.
If you're in-between games, Conviction is short enough not to overwhelm you but entertaining enough to keep you interested. If you can't decide between Conviction and any other game, however, I'd probably advise that you skip this one.2 out of 3 shoppers found this helpful. Was this helpful? Yes No
