Good game

It reminds me the Mad Max movie, that's reason why I like this post apocalyptic stuff

Hard West
 –

Similar to XCOM in weird western setting

It's a great tactical game like XCOM, but I find it much harder and likable because of the weird wild western setting. It has some nteresting mechanics like cards system. It has a fun factor, too.

Nancy Drew: Alibi in Ashes
 –

A different Nancy adventure.

We enjoyed playing this game (on Junior level) because it was not the same old ND mystery, but it did have a task list, which was helpful. (The hint system was no help at all!) For most of the game, you have the ability to switch characters and speak to suspects, getting a different slant on things depending upon who you are. The letter swap game at Scoops was lots of fun, and was a good way to kill time waiting for a suspect to leave the area. The map used to travel to different places with your car, was enjoyable because you could go to places, not needed in the game play, with cute results. The graphics, sound & game play were all very good. The puzzles were not hard at all, most were fun. The timed ending maze was a bit tricky, but fun. The game had a satisfactory ending and wrapped up well. Enjoy!

Cognition Game of the Year Edition
 –

Good Game

We played this game a few years back when it was called Cognition Director's Cut 4 pack. This is a true adventure game! It has everything you want in a game-good story, graphics, characters, etc. The only problem I had with it was that the 4th episode was too violent, as you had to fight a guy, which is not what I expect to do when playing a game. But don't let that stop you from getting it.

Grim Tales: Bloody Mary Collector's Edition
 –

To horror gamers

I have so far only found two games, including this one, with this kind of creepy style. I have many horror games with darkness and some jump scares, but not with the most important. These two have the atmosphere, the something special that is hard to explain.
Horror games are my favourites and sadly, this one won''t be on my top list although the fantastic creepiness. The main reasons are the hint and the map, they can destroy the game flow for me. The map is jumpable and shows objectives, but not the important available tasks. And the hint isn't directional, instead it tells you what to do. I really don't like that.

The hidden objects are interactive lists. A few of the scenes were a bit hard due to the mess, packed with stuff. The mini games vary in difficulty.
Graphics, sound and voice overs are great. I thought that the boy's singing was so creepy and disturbing that I loved it. There are demon figurines to collect and the bonus game is kind of a prequel. I almost forgot to mention the chipmunk helper, but you don't have to dress him or buy him a hammock.

Finally I'd like to say that this is an amazing game, especially considering that this kind of a game seems to be rare. If you are like me, love horror games and have hint and map issues, I still think you should try this one. And of course, other horror fans too.

Mystery Trackers: Raincliff's Phantoms
 –

Ok

This is a continuation of the previous Raincliff mystery game and like all Mystery Tracker games the graphics are good. Only issue with this game is the story is a little light weight as though they have a story that they have split in two to get more money out of it and stretched it to fit. It has an open end and leaves you a bit unsatisfied but the games and puzzles are good.

StarDrive 2
 –

Not the Star Ship I was Looking For

It took me a long time to get into this game and, after several days of play, eliminated it from my list of games worth playing. I was attracted to it at first because it was described as a 4X game of eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate which has always been my favorite sub-genre of computer games. The classic 4X game is Master of Orion 2. Other famous 4X games for the Mac are Civilization and Endless Space. Starbase Orion is another very good 4X game for the iPad and other mobile devices. Unfortunately, StarDrive 2 is more of a 1X game and concentrates more on the eXterminate mode more than the other three modes of game play.
I like 4X games because the player does not have to rely exclusivey on combat to win the game. True 4X games can be won by economic, diplomatic, and technologic means as well as combat. The multiple paths to victory make 4X games enjoyable for many repeat plays and gives the game a sense of reality as opposed to simple slash and burn. In StarDrive 2, it is only combat that is important. It is a cruel universe out there and all other aliens are your enemies and they will destroy you if you do not kill them off first. With this in mind, the game plays very well as a combat simulator but not as a true 4X game.
The heart of the game is actually the older StarDrive 1 in which you are tasked to design and build warships to fight and conquer every other alien species. This section is very good and relies on your abiiity to build combat worthy warships over the game's timeline. The other 3 'X's of this game are there but seems to have been tacked on to the basic game of build, hunt, and destroy.
StarDrive 2 is a graphical outstanding game and will you will see quickly that it is an excellent graphic upgrade of Master of Orion. In fact several parts of the game will remind you so much of parts of Master of Orion, Galactic Civiizations, and Imperium Galactica, that you would swear that you played some of these sequences before in those older games which are no longer available or playable on modern computers.

A manual is included but it is not downloadable. The included game tutorial is very good though often hides the game screen beneath it. Luckily the tutorial window can be moved which you will do often. Also, the instructions on game play is incomplete. Nowhere in the manual will you find out how to set the game play computer settings. One setting option that is critical is screen size. The game sets the screen to '1080p'. This is not an option for Mac users and it makes the game unplayable. However all you need to do is press the 'option' key on your keyboard when you start the game to bring up important setting options such as screen display sizes and mouse controls. You may have to fiddle around wih the settings to find the right ones for your Mac.

Dark Romance: Vampire in Love Collector's Edition
 –

A very evil father

In this game you play both as Emily and Enron and switch between them when you want. I had some bad feelings about it at first, but then I found it fun instead.

Enron's father, count Dracula is furious and I can't understand why. It's not his concern that his son wants to marry a human. If I were him I'd be happy that he finally met someone to love and asked if I could participate while he confesses that he's a vampire. "By the way honey, I sleep in a coffin at daytime." At least in my point of view, it would be hilarious. It's much better than his behaviour in this game. That is what went through my mind while I was playing and also that Enron reminded me of Robert Pattinson in Twilight.

The graphics are mostly good, but cartoonish and the background music can sometimes be a bit dramatic, but it fits. Sound quality and voice overs are a good, though there is no lip syncing (what I can recall).
This game has a jumpable map that shows available tasks and a well working hint.
The many hidden objects scenes are interactive lists and the mini games are very easy to pretty hard. There are three different collectables, garlic, bats and items that are linked to vampires. In the bonus game you play only as Emily. The length is descent.

My opinion of this game is that it is ok, no problem at all with the gameplay, good flow and so on. The story was maybe too cute for me. That's why I'll recommend this game to those who love romance and of course vampires.

Breach and Clear
 –

Too Many Bugs

'Breach and Clear' seems to be part of an unfinished game and not a complete game.

The basic game is an exercise in getting your team to breach a doorway and cleafr the area or rooms of all bad guys. The game is turn based. You are given the task of forming a team of 4 special forces operatives. You choose each member's speciality and individual characteristics like traditional role playing games. When you complete each scenario, the user gets points and cash which can be used to upgrade your characters and purchase new and better equipment. You are also given the option to play with 'real death' of your characters which means that once they are killed, they are gone,

The operation of each character in each mission is a bit tricky. Although you can direct each character's movements, you do not have control over each characters combat actions.

There is no plot or motivation for your assigned missions. There are no instructions or manual. Most operations will be obvious during game play but some ction choices are either missing or hidden within the game. For example, you will search a long time to try to figure out how you take back a movement you have given to your characters. The game is also buggy. When you quit the game, your progress and equipment purchases will often have disappeared when you re-start. Worse, your entire team may also vanish forcing you to create a new team.

This is not a good game. It appears to be incomplete and I suggest that you avoid it. I am no longer listed as a purchaser because I returned the game to the MacGameStore.

Dark Romance: Vampire in Love Collector's Edition
 –

Truly dreadful

I'm hard put to actually find something good to say about this...it's riddled with bugs, the worst being display and pointer related...it switches between system mouse pointer at whim so you're never sure what you're meant to be doing. The HO scenes are uninspired, the puzzles tedious, the dialogue atrocious, the graphics awful....AVOID...I bought as part of a HO bundle but wouldn't have paid $1 for it let alone $14 which is it's standalone price...

Empress of the Deep 3: Legacy of the Phoenix Collector's Edition
 –

Tedious overall

I found all the dialogue and animation sequences (it seems you can't do anything without someone droning on about your action) highly tedious...and sooooooo slow. Unlike other games where you can click to continue a sequence with this one you have to sit through the oh so painfully slow character's diatribe...hmmm I think I've managed to get my point across now. All in all the graphics, gameplay are not enough to make you want to sit through the pain.

Danse Macabre: The Last Adagio

Dull

I wanted this to be interesting but the puzzles are not challenging and the ghost conversations are brief and dull. Story could be so interesting but it isn't

Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series (Telltale Key)
 –

Disappointing experience

Well, I had to give 2 stars on account of playing through all 6 episodes. It began with promise but became increasingly disappointing. Very little character development, thin and rather bland story. There is only an illusion of choice in your playthrough as your decisions have essentially no effect on the various outcomes, just slight variations in the 'journey'. The game also stuttered a lot though that may have been due to my set up (though i read it's a fairly common fault)... Lacked inspiration and *minor spoiler* is set up for an obvious sequal and cash grab. I loved The Walking Dead, but have since been underwhelemed by Telltales subsequent releases.

Mysteriumâ„¢: Lake Bliss Collector's Edition
 –

A lot of pink fog.

What I enjoyed most about this game are the beautiful landscape scenes and some of the background music. The story wasn't bad either, nor the graphics, sound or voice-over (no lip syncing though).
The hidden object scenes are slightly interactive lists and fragments and the mini games are the usual. There is a dragonfly in every scene to collect, which are pretty easy to spot if you don't forget to look. The length was ok.

Now to the negative things. The map is jumpable and shows objectives, but not available tasks so I, with bad memory, had to use the hint and walk instead. Then it was in the bonus game. The cursor wouldn't pick up a certain item in a hidden object scene. I even tried closing and reopening the game and realised that there's no way I can finish this game now. The next day I decided to try again and changed to system cursor. I clicked like a madman for 5 seconds. When I was about to give up, it worked.

I can recommend this game to those who love "Not even death do us part" - love stories and ghosts, who can take the risk to get stuck in the bonus game.
