Great DLCs

Great DLCs for an already greate game. Standard price of all of those is high so this pack is a great deal

The Sims 3
 –

Okay

The quality of the game isn't as good as I'd had hoped it to be and it can admittedly get a little tedious and dull to play with no expansion packs but regardless of that it's a decent game.

Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI: Rise and Fall
 –

Good enough

While the new additions are welcome, they are far from groundbreaking. Governor system is minimal. Interventions and new alliances don't offer much depth. Rise and Fall makes Civ 6 much better, unfortunately it's still far from the level of engagement that Endless Legend offers.

Evil Pumpkin: The Lost Halloween
 –

[In the first part of this game you will often remain frustrated and displaced (also due to the absence of a map), but when you will find the road (and the map) you will begin a long journey to discover a great secret thanks to curiosity by Van Hallows, a very particular boy. The developer Two Desperados (who also signed the good "The Dream Machine of Doctor Magnus 2") tries to involve us in all this, but we can hardly: the story has its linearity but ends up being burdened by quotes "crippled" "of famous titles, literary funambulism and low-level kissed rhymes, while the scenes with hidden objects are in classic style (uselessly full) and the mini-games sin of originality (with instructions not always clear). You will be asked to identify in the scenes the "bats" (useful, because they reload the help) and various objects needed to decorate a shop and a courtyard / garden: a "fatigue", the latter, which you do not see the need and which slows down the action. Even the double inventory turns out to be only an obstacle in the smooth progression of the adventure. The well-made images and the non-trivial music are saved. The attempt seems to be to propose a game surreal, ironic and a bit 'crazy (and this is there, considering the theme "Halloween"), unfortunately the result is not the best. The advice is to play it only if you find it at a super-discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

The conclusion

A worthy conclusion for the series, certainly a worthy buy for those who played the previous two.

Great Game

I really enjoy this game. Although the graphics aren't as flashy as the newer games, there is a certain character in this game that makes it worth it.

Fun Game

This game is a lot of fun. There are a lot of options for races, cars, and tracks. It served its purpose for me. Which was to have a fun car racing game.

Aragami
 –

Nice stealth game

Aragami is a good little stealth game. Like in Dishonored your character can teleport. But in Aragami you can only teleport in the shadows. And you need the shadows to regain your shadow energy, which is required for some powerful shadow abilities. Some of them are a little bit too powerful, that's why the game felt for me more difficult at the beginning than at the end. And unfortunately there are not much different enemy types, so the game tries to keep up the challenge by increasing the number of enemies, not by giving you harder enemies. But anyway I had my fun with Aragami, it feels good, when you creep in the shadows, teleport from one to another and get past the enemies in a blink of an eye. Another plus factor: It's really a stealth game. When you get spotted, it's over, because in combat you have practically no chance. So I can recommend this game for stealth fans, which like the japanese setting.

Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger 7
 –

Great if...

If you haven't played this series yet, you'll really enjoy the game.

But if you have, it's just more of the same as the previous editions. The same (kind of) objects, the same sequence of mini-games and puzzles, which by the way are also identical to the previous editions, with slight variations. Just different scenarios all around.

We need more commitment from the devs! Cheers.

Out There: Omega Edition

Out There: Omega Edition

+Gorgeous art style
+Everything in the game is well designed, in particular the ships and the alien life forms
+There are several different ships, each coming with pros and cons meaning each ship has a unique play style
+Usually when you jump to a new star system you get a journal entry/mini text adventure which all have great stories but they're let down by the writer's knowledge of English (I'll come back to that later)
+The galaxy is procedurally generated each time you play so you'll never see the same galaxy twice
+Interesting storyline with an interesting yet mysterious protagonist
+Outstanding (even outstanding doesn't do it justice) soundtrack that even rivals that of FTL
+Great gameplay based around resource management, kind of like FTL with more resources and no combat
+The game has no combat, a bold move that work fantastically, fighting to survive against the environment is much more interesting than fighting to survive against hostile life forms
+As you get further into a run you begin unlocking more advanced technologies to help you get further
+Abandoned ships always seem to turn up just as your ship becomes obsolete which is perfect
+When you encounter alien life forms you often learn parts of their language
+You frequently come across mysterious alien materials and artifacts which often provide ways of improving your ship
+It's impossible to see everything this game has to offer in one run so you're definitely going to come back for more

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions

A very good and worthy update to GW2:RE, enough "retroness" to have some nostalgia of the previous games but also brought bang up to with new graphics and 3d boards

Beyond Eyes

Beyond Eyes

Amazing hidden gem: pace, art direction, gameplay, soundtrack, characters, story - everything constantly flirts with a minimalist Zen perfection. Blindness is an all-pervasive white, from which the world comes into being and into which it fades to nothingness at each step you take, trembling in gentle aquarelles as an unique emotional, heart-wrenching story gently unfold

Excelent

I didn't like the first game too much, but this is amazing. Graphics, music, voice acting, artwork, gameplay, its just amazing.
Only thing I didn't like is text based ship combats.

Nancy Drew: The Deadly Device
 –

Not Very Good

**NO SPOILERS**

I have been playing Nancy Drew games my whole life, so naturally, I was excited to play this one. Maybe it's because I think science is boring, or maybe the game just wasn't up to par, but I did not enjoy this game. Nancy is locked in one building, and there's only a handful of places you can go within the building. The characters weren't very interesting, and it was just kind of hard to get through. Slow story, and a lot of repetitive motions.

Heroes of Might & Magic V

Save issues

Major problems with save files. Sometimes the save files will revert to an older name if you save over an old file, or crash the game. It also crashes the game if you have more than about 10 save files. My OS is a bit newer than it is supposed to use, so this may be an issue on all OSXs 13 and higher.

The Dwarves
 –

Beautiful

The game is beautiful, the music is nice and there is the song by Blind Guardian playing during the credits at the end.

But it's short, has very little replayability and it's so focused on the main plot that it can feel rather linear.

I haven't read the book but it's pretty standard fantasy fare if you're familiar with the classics and are a fan of RPGs. The story does have its moments and things pick up near the end but it may sound a bit too generic depending on your background.

RPG elements are limited to a few skill choices and decisions that play out like a choose your own adventure gamebook. You don't get to create your own character but the main character in this game is likeable and the voice acting is pretty good.

The main issue is the combat which plays pretty much like an RTS game. It's a bit messy and your guys are always facing overwhelming odds. Don't get me wrong, it does contribute to the epic dimension of these fights but it also gets old pretty quickly especially considering that you have to micromanage your party (of up to four characters) because if they're left to their own devices they never use their special abilities. If you want a more hands off approach then you will need to lower the difficulty and even then you will probably have to babysit your guys and gals and swicth around between characters every five seconds to activate their abilities.

It's not a game that I would recommend to people who may feel jaded about high fantasy and stories about dwarves and elves and considering its length you may want to wait for a sale but if you like the little bearded fellows and want to experience a short tale (probably around 8 hours of gameplay) then you could do worse.
