The Secret Order: Shadow Breach
 –

Avventura intrigante

Stormhill Mystery: Family Shadows
 –

[From Specialbit Studio a good game whose strengths are the beautiful images and an engaging though "classic" storyline (a child who must save lost parents). The mechanism of the "closed room" from which one has to go out with the objects available on the scene, which is proposed several times, is of some interest. There are no scenes with hidden objects, while the mini-games are present not excessively and only towards the end they become particularly complex. Good map. It is a pity that the attention required for the search for transformable objects is a little distracting from the overall action. There is also a well crafted "extra game" set in the same scenes as the main game (though 17 years earlier ...) and the goals to be achieved are (rightly, in my opinion) few. Good translation in Italian and music. At Specialbit Studio, which defines itself as a "small independent Ukrainian studio", the commitment and professionalism shown in this game must be recognized, which bode well for the future. Four stars and the invitation to buy it.]

The Last Dream: Developer's Edition
 –

[It is a game with a linear story, passable music (with a beautiful song in the end of the main story), well-made images, a bit of healthy irony about the actions we need to take ... and some original elements that make it a game to play. It stands out nicely on the whole presence of the little cat that will help us in the crucial passages and is made with a particular technical and graphic care. Good scenes with FrOGs (fragmented objects), while the mini-games seem to me a bit too "stuck" in the story. The use of movies with human figures for the protagonists perhaps wants to be original, but it is not (see "Questerium: Sinister Trinity HD Collector's Edition"). Certainly a positive element is the fact that, in the absence of a map, the help is quickly recharged, so there is not too much to "fatigue" the brain to move forward. And the presence of an extra game is also appreciable. My personal opinion is that it is worth playing with it especially if you find it at a discounted price: at its full price there are games of a very different quality, at least from a technical point of view.]

Skyland: Heart of the Mountain
 –

Gioco ottimo

[From the combined Artifex / Cordelia Games here is an excellent game (here only in English, pity ...) that oscillates between the steampunk style and the fantasy. "Skyland" is characterized by the high quality of the story, along with good music, voices up to the story and excellent images / videos. Scenes with hidden objects are engaging and well-crafted (but less than 20 seconds to complete one and obtaining a "conquest" seems an impossible feat), while mini-games are easily tackled. The presence of the "engineer glove" adds well presented game elements. Pay attention to "those who climb high", and sharpen the view well for collectible objects. Excellent map. In summary, quality and professionalism that deserve to be valued: nothing to complain about, it is a game of four full stars, absolutely to be purchased. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Enigmatis: The Mists of Ravenwood
 –

[In terms of pure narration, atmospheres, of the rhythm of the narrative, Enigmatis also with this episode is confirmed as one of the most interesting sagas among the titles of Artifex. The Italian language is missing, but the game is still sufficiently playable. We are faced with events at the limit between the esoteric and the religious and, from the point of playability, it is to appreciate the excellent attention to detail from the scenes with hidden objects, while unfortunately the variety of mini-games is not very high: many are based on the simultaneous movement of multiple elements. Another negative element is the presence of a map that is not very detailed, which forces us to resort often to help to understand where it is needed to go. Four stars because it is really a pity that it is not even in Italian ... for the developer a lost opportunity to increase the number of buyers!]

Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call Collector's Edition
 –

Assolutamente, 4 stelle

[Unfortunately, here it is only in English, but it is a remarkable game, worthy continuation of "The cursed heart" (we recommend!). The music, cinematic scenes and images are of excellent quality, and the story is really to be appreciated, including bonus chapter. The scenes with hidden objects are rich and well thought out, while the mini-games are difficult at the right point (at least for me). Care must be taken to find all the objectives objects ... but it's part of the game. Vote: absolutely 4 stars (there are some minor technical defects), I recommend it. The final decision is yours.]

Lost Lands: The Golden Curse Collector's Edition
 –

Un lungo fantastico viaggio - A long fantastic journey

[I have already written about the many qualities and the very few defects of the Five-Bn productions. Of this game (here, unfortunately, only in English) I would like first of all to highlight the realistic illustrations and movies, high quality and very accurate in detail (for example, at the beginning of the game you observe the "touch" fabulous of the moving cloud reflected in the puddle while talking Maaron). Let's move on to the story: as always, it is a story very dense and full of narrative cues, which starts from a very strange curse: the action of a pure heart that triggers evil. This explains the initial film and from here begins our long journey that will take us to fantastic scenarios where we will meet fabulous characters and a thousand surprises. From the point of view of technique and game actions, all the "wealth" of Five-Bn is confirmed, plus the need to collect modern objects fallen from Susan's purse to perform some actions! Ps: long life has who invented the map system and strategic guidance. Four stars, I recommend buying it!]

Tiny Tots Zoo Volume 1
 –

Semplice semplice - Multilingue

[A game for children and very childish and very simple, because it offers only two possibilities for action: the insertion of silhouettes on a background and the mechanism of the puzzle. The first positive note is that the game is multilingual and Italian is also present. Another positive note: the scenes and puzzles are many, so the game is quite long-lived. Three stars (because you notice a certain effort in the realization) and the advice to buy it if you find it at a super-discounted price. As I have already written in the past for other games: you can find games for children of a level much higher than this, even from an educational point of view.]

Evil Pumpkin: The Lost Halloween
 –

[In the first part of this game you will often remain frustrated and displaced (also due to the absence of a map), but when you will find the road (and the map) you will begin a long journey to discover a great secret thanks to curiosity by Van Hallows, a very particular boy. The developer Two Desperados (who also signed the good "The Dream Machine of Doctor Magnus 2") tries to involve us in all this, but we can hardly: the story has its linearity but ends up being burdened by quotes "crippled" "of famous titles, literary funambulism and low-level kissed rhymes, while the scenes with hidden objects are in classic style (uselessly full) and the mini-games sin of originality (with instructions not always clear). You will be asked to identify in the scenes the "bats" (useful, because they reload the help) and various objects needed to decorate a shop and a courtyard / garden: a "fatigue", the latter, which you do not see the need and which slows down the action. Even the double inventory turns out to be only an obstacle in the smooth progression of the adventure. The well-made images and the non-trivial music are saved. The attempt seems to be to propose a game surreal, ironic and a bit 'crazy (and this is there, considering the theme "Halloween"), unfortunately the result is not the best. The advice is to play it only if you find it at a super-discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Endless Fables: Frozen Path Collector's Edition
 –

[We are proposed a very long-lived, "dense" and compelling journey in the Nordic legends, with beautiful images, excellent music and (some) really great movies. Scenes with hidden objects are proposed in different ways of approach, while mini-games are fairly easy except for some that present elements of complexity. In addition to the "usual" extras, to be appreciated the use of the "evidence collector" and the bonus adventure really well done. Negative element: the careful research of all collectible objects slows down the action, and "suffocates" the pathos of the story. Three stars, but I still recommend to play with it. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

House of 1000 Doors: Evil Inside Collector's Edition
 –

Davvero notevole

[This "fantasy dark" style game, developed by Alawar and Logris Games, is truly remarkable. It is based on the same structure and on the same concept of "portal" of the other three games in the series "House of 1000 doors", but it makes us travel in many fantastic places for an adventure against an incredibly long destructive virus, compelling and well articulated . Many of the scenes with hidden objects also offer many interesting interactions, while the mini-games have pleasant ideas of creativity and originality although they are moderately easy to solve. The possibility of using the chronograph and the power that develops from the right hand of the protagonist, together with the need to resort to the help of monocle and the little cat Arya in certain situations make the progression of the action very intriguing. Every single image is really of excellent quality, with incredible colors and adequate lighting. The map and the diary are well developed, the cinematic scenes are fantastic, the music and the soundtracks are of high level, while the strategic guide is useful and well presented. A bonus chapter is also available, and other extras include backgrounds, achievements, making of, cutscenes, soundtracks, concept art and collectibles that are well "camouflaged" in the scenes. Unfortunately it is only in English, and this is a real shame! Overall, this is an excellent game with a complex story, so I recommend it without any doubt assigning four stars (and not five because it is not available in Italian). The final decision is yours, bearing in mind that on this store the games distributed by Alawar are periodically offered at a discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Chronicles of The Witches and Warlocks
 –

Poco originale, stile classico

[Here is a long-lived game that begins as an investigative thriller and then turns into a long journey through strange disappearances, ghosts, alignment of planets, aliens, black holes and even what the purpose of life is. In fact, the plot is just an excuse to catapult us into a classic vortex of scenes with hidden objects, mini-games and puzzles that represent the essence of this game. So do not expect originality and narrative tension: mainly the protagonist must use the magic portals in the rooms of a hotel to move between different eras, solve puzzles and find the indispensable artifacts to solve the case. The images, cinematic scenes and music are still of good quality. From the gameplay point of view scenes with hidden objects are very full and sometimes with objects in illogical positions, while mini-games and puzzles are almost always easy. Moreover, in many "pop screens" there is no information that allows you to understand what action must be taken, and the map is very rudimentary and of little help. Positive, however, the function of the diary. Finally, there is no voice dubbing and it is only in English. Three stars, and the advice to play it if you find it at a discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek
 –

[A game that, beyond the comics style, represents a good set of qualities that in my opinion should have a game of value: linear and well done history, scenes with hidden objects and mini-games sufficiently difficult but not "impossible", Adequate music and engaging cinematic sequences, excellent "detective mode" (see also "9 Clues - The Secret of Serpent Creek"), not simple goal research. Four stars for some small "bugs" on iMac OS X. My advice is to play it, because you also imagine that ... as you say at the end of the story ... you hate the Monday!]

Eventide 3: Legacy of Legends
 –

Ottima storia, ottimo gioco

[This is really an excellent game. The story is long, engaging and full of human characters and not to interact with, through scenarios well-made and full of details. We will also receive a nice lesson on the damage of pollution, along with many other small points of "reflection" on the relationship between man and nature. From the point of view of gameplay, I point out that many collectible objects are also hidden in the "pop screens" and in some mini-games: so watch out not to lose them! Some scenes with hidden objects are really challenging, while the mini-games are presented on several occasions with an "original" graphic design, although in the end they are quite easy to overcome (apart from the one with the marbles!) In this case, it takes a lot patience...). Good music and movies. Only small "flaw": the graphic style in some parts is a bit '"fumettoso" ... Too bad, because the complete realism, even if it is a story of magic, would have even more enriched the game. Overall, four full stars and the advice to play it (here it is not in Italian, but elsewhere ...). Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

The Treasures of Mystery Island 2: The Gates of Fate
 –

[At the beginning this game (here NOT available in Italian) left me perplexed, for its static and for the story decidedly "bizarre". And yet I am quite amused to finish it, patiently facing (and in small doses ...) the search for the four cards from the magic portal that are indispensable for getting the protagonists Alex and Lisa out of the bad situation in which they found themselves. In this game you need to move on your own initiative and concentrate to determine the next "move" to be made by going back and forth the scenes of the various chapters. In reality, the story is just a "pretext" to face a long series of scenes with hidden objects and / or fragmented objects and many mini-games sometimes simple, sometimes challenging (but there is the "skip" button). Do not expect anything else, and forget the excellent quality of the next game entitled "The treasures of mystery island": here we are light years back (read my review on it)! I recommend it only for a little fun, and only if you find it at a super-discounted price. Three stars, and the final decision is yours. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Kronville: Stolen Dreams
 –

[This game presents a complex and intriguing story, in which dreams and reality alternate in a path full of action and surprises. In the role of Astrid Missy, a child psychologist, one must explore the Kronville environment and the worlds based on different stories centered on children (like Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland), entering and exiting the land of dreams. During this trip you will have to interact with different characters, even through real conversations: the answers given will influence the flow of the plot. Images, movies and soundtrack are of quality, and it is worth underlining the fact that the developers have just "played" with the gloom and brightness of the different settings to convey the overall sense of adventure. Hidden object scenes are presented with many different actions to be performed and many of these scenes have to be faced several times, making the gameplay particularly interesting. Puzzles and mini-games are of different types and are proposed some very challenging but not impossible. The map is present but not easily accessible, while the diary is too full of annotations. Unfortunately, the game is only in English, but is still sufficiently playable in this language. Of course, it would also take Italian, and to better understand the story I suggest you first read the reviews on the net. I recommend it, especially if you find it at a discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Mysteries of the Past: Shadow of the Daemon Collector's Edition
 –

Apprezzabile e longevo

[A game Blue Brain Games that, while not bringing anything innovative compared to the genre, is still appreciable also because it is quite long-lived (... if you do not use the "skip"). You can spend a few hours playing pleasantly thanks to a "rich" plot that unfolds a little too slowly but is nevertheless engaging and articulate. Static images, music and movies are of good quality. Hidden object scenes are built on multiple levels and offer a variety of interesting "mechanisms" of action. The mini-games are not very demanding, and you will find almost all the schemes designed to date ... Not bad! The map is well organized, while the diary offers too many annotations. Just as there are too many dialogues to be "digested". There are no "goals" to unlock, and this allows a very relaxed game action. There is a bonus chapter, which actually represents the conclusion of the story, complete with a challenging final battle and escape to freedom. Unfortunately it is only in English, but it is still sufficiently playable in this language. Of course, it would also take Italian! I recommend it, especially if you find it at a super-discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Forest Legends: The Call of Love Collector's Edition
 –

Molto intrigante e ben sviluppato

[It must be said: it would take more games of this quality! Of course, we are faced with a classic point-and-click game signed by the team of Alawar Stargaze with a story very fairytale and full of cliches, and there is no doubt that there are too many dialogues to be "digest". But the set is definitely valuable: point-and-click mechanics are intuitive, the puzzles are cleverly designed and a well-developed hint system allows you to easily proceed with the action. Moreover, the background images are very pleasant, with real panoramas magnificently embellished with dark forest paths and clearings, visibly illuminated with spectacular lights and full of sudden animations. The mechanism of the "magic potions" is very intriguing and well developed, and a bonus chapter is also proposed, set several years after the events of the main story. In conclusion: the only real flaw is the absence of the Italian language! For this three stars, but I recommend it. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Where Angels Cry 2: Tears of the Fallen Collector's Edition
 –

Eccellente, purtroppo qui è solo in inglese

[A truly excellent production Cateia Games, which far exceeds the first episode of the saga (simply titled "Where Angels Cry") both from the point of view of the plot and as regards the overall playability. In short: high-quality visual effects, high-quality images and movies, enchanting background music and sound, excellent off-field voices that fit well with each character. A rich and well-designed interface (excellent strategic guidance and the map) allows you to focus properly on scenes with hidden objects in classic style and mini-games. Some actions require the use of the "combiner": instead of applying a single inventory item to an activity, sometimes it is necessary to find a set of elements in order to progress. The scenes with hidden objects are quite simple, while puzzles and mini-games swing between the easy and the complicated. But what makes this game definitely noteworthy is the plot: very engaging, well developed and full of pathos, it makes us experience an adventure in the 13th century in many aspects original and that deserves to be appreciated. High quality "extras", while the bonus chapter represents a story in the history that is not to be missed. Unfortunately, this store is only in English, but is still sufficiently playable in this language. To underline that it would also take the Italian language, it is worth buying it if it is at a discounted price. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]

Statue of Liberty – The Lost Symbol
 –

[A game with a "rich" plot that unfolds a little too slowly but is nevertheless engaging and articulated. The static images are of good quality, as well as the music. There are also some scenic "effects" that reinforce the overall impact of the story. From a technical point of view, the game is dated: it is much affected by the passage of time and offers a long series of scenes with very old-fashioned hidden objects (too full for today's tastes!) And which are repeated several times. Not all mini-games are easy to understand: there are often no precise explanations on how to deal with them. There is no map and so you are forced to long laps, simplified only if you use the help that "explains" the actions to be performed. Positive note: the series of anecdotes about the Statue of Liberty scattered here and there, representing a touch of quality. Three stars and the advice to buy it for a few hours of fun without too much effort and without asking too much. Played with iMac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan.]
