Cute game.. with issues

This game looks quite cute and fun to play. However, I cannot seem to get past the area where you cross-breed the plants. Would love to try it, but it doesn't look like it will happen!

Jewel Quest 4: Heritage
 –

Jewel Quest 4: Heritage

This is a very stunning game in both game play and strategy considering it's a match three style game.

The game starts at the root of the family tree and a decent story line. From there you work your way up the tree. In doing so the levels start easy, then go to medium, hard and finally very hard.

In the hours of game play that I have in it, I have yet to get passed the medium puzzles, there simply isn't enough time for me to accomplish that. This exposes the games single weak point. It doesn't adjust itself time wise if you continually lose in a level and there is no "relaxed mode" to kill the timer. Thus it might loose it's appeal if you're stuck.

Pretty Creepy

The game place was interesting, and somewhat off putting. However the game is fun and moves along comfortably.

Strange Cases: The Tarot Card Mystery
 –

Interesting, but nothing very new

This is a good HO game, with puzzles that you have seen before, but nicely done. All in all, a good game, but not a great one. Predictable story.

Mushroom Age

lots of humor

This was really a surprising and fun game! It was surely different from all the other hidden object / puzzle games I played before. The story is really surprising, fun puzzles and sometimes difficult too. If you know anything about history and filosofy you'll see that these guys did there homework and must have had lots of fun making this game.
There were some problems at first but the updates fixed it ok. Can't wait for the next game of these makers!

X3: Reunion
 –

Lame

This game is so behind it's time. The space flight doesn't feel at all realistic, no sense of intertia at all. There is nothing for a tutorial, so I'm just stumbling along blindly trying to figure out how do do ANYTHING. The controls are not intuitive at all. I am severely not impressed, and severely pissed I just shelled out $40 for this game. I mean I'd much rather be playing something like Wing Commander III back on my SNES from 15 years ago or something like Escape Velocity Nova, which although simple graphically, blows this game out of the sky in terms of intuitive control and fun factor, not to mention giving you some sort of direction and tutorial. I mean did I miss something here?

Mushroom Age

This game was pretty bad. The game play & puzzles were amateurish. The dialog was sophmoric, and I suspect it was NOT meant for children. The game was developed by non-Americans, with fairly limited English & History skills. I also received 2 separate updates for the game, which corrected an error, which wouldn't let me get past level 16, despite the fact that I solved the puzzle. Maybe their next game will be better, but I would avoid this one. Fortunately, it was only $9.95, for which I got a fair amount of game play, but the reason for a lot of game play, was trying to figure out where they were trying to go with this game.

Warbirds: Dogfights

wish I had looked at the reviews

Live and learn this game is terrible, can't edit seem to edit the controls, very awkward, total waste of 30 bucks, I for one will be reading reviews next time, and preferably trying it out before buying.

Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst
 –

Great game. Well worth the money.

This is a really fun puzzle game. Took a lot longer than the typical HO game - actually finding the items was only a small portion of the game - so I'd say at $10 it's great value. The real fun comes in solving the riddles. A little bit of an odd storyline, but interesting nonetheless. There are some funny bits in there to lighten the mood if you pay attention. Anyway, took me a number of sittings to solve it and it's by far my favourite Mystery Case File game to date. Looking forward to the next one!

Too Challenging

This game started out fun but at some point became too difficult. It ended up being more stressful than fun.

The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom Gold Edition
 –

Excellent Game; poor implementation

First of all the game itself is good, really good. The AI and some economic behavior needs some tweaking, but overall it is one of the best games I've ever seen.

Unfortunately there are some points leading to the horrible rating:
- the game is quite demanding for Video-RAM. Even on an iMac 27" QuadCore i7 with 512MB VRAM you won't be able to set detail levels to more than medium quality in order to keep the game running smoothly.

- the copy protection requires a constant internet connection while playing the game. For most players having a broadband connection not a problem anymore. But what's annoying is that the game servers are often not reachable, meaning the game won't allow you to play. Having the game for about three weeks the servers were offline for almost FOUR days of playing hours.

- a known problem for the Mac version is a bug that sometimes freezes the game during video-sequences after a game ends or the storyline of the campaign mode. And even three months after the game was released still no bugfix available.

Supercow

I liked it!

This game has beautiful graphics. The game reminds me about the game "Mission Kelloggs". A game with a good game-concept: destroy evil and clean the nature from garbage.

Something I miss is that the game could have been a little bit more challenging, but for small kids I think it is perfect.

I also think it is a cons that you cannot choose game resolution in the game - only standard or fullscreen in aspect ratio 4:3.

Overall a good and funny game:-)

Wonderful!

I finally picked up this game after sometime wanting to buy it. Loved the demo. Some people might find it over priced, I don't. Game is amazing in its own way. The music, art, atmosphere, and story just make it a pleasure to play. And the puzzles can be very challenging at times. I think this is a very recommended buy. Not much out there like this.

Warbirds: Dogfights

Might be fun but it is too much trouble

I would like to explore this game more but it is not worth the hassle of getting it to run.

In order to fly with a joystick, I have to unplug all USB devices except my joystick and then reboot the computer. After rebooting, the joystick has to be calibrated in a tedious process that includes having part of the calibration window obscured. That is a lot of unnecessary work just to play a game, in my opinion. No other software I have ever used has required such a thing!

After going through all that there is a slightly tedious and only partly useful tutorial that has a bug near the end. The tutorial is only useful because it tells you a couple of things not explained in the help file. I wonder what I might have learned if I could follow it past the bug at the two thirds mark?

Even while actually flying, the joystick configuration has gotten corrupted so that the plane loses throttle and then just spins out of control.

The totalsims forums have been little help.

Save your money for something fun - I wish I had and I wish I could get a refund.
