This dlc is like all the others for Tropico 5 in that it offers a new building, scenario and costume. Unfortunately the new inquisition building is not all that useful and looks out of place on the island. In the scenario you are stuck in the colonial era which means you never have to worry about happiness and plentiful gold deposits make you so rich it is very simple and short.
In this Tropico dlc you get to embrace your inner supervillain with a new building and scenario. Unfortunately the giant laser building is utterly useless, both in the scenario and other games. The scenario does offer a few good laughs, but is otherwise standard fare.
Yet another Tropico dlc with a new building (wind farm) and scenario. Unfortunately it's one of the weakest of the lot.
Whereas the windmill was a good alternative to larger more expensive power plants in tropico 4 the windfarm here becomes available too late and is too expensive to be useful. The scenario is just a boring grind that forces you to build a great many wind farms you have no use for.
An expansion for Tropico 5 with a new building and scenario.
The new Super computer building is a powerful research tool which provides a good haul of research points without the need for college educated workers.
The mission is a research race which really allows the computer to shine. It contains a few good gags as well.
The first of ten small tropico dlc's. Like all the others it offers a new building (the creamery) a scenario that is particularly suited to the building and some new cosmetic items for you presidential family.
The big cheese is a little better than average because the building is rather useful both for food variety and exports and the scenario is pretty funny.
Never alone is a wonderful game about a young girl and her fox companion as they set out into the polar landscape on a quest to save their village. The game is a puzzle platformer where Nuna and her fox have to cooperate to overcome obstacles. The puzzles never become too hard or frustrating and the landscape is lovely. During your travels you unlock videos that offer snippets of information about the cultural background of the game.
On release the game was tricky to play solo because the AI was not capable of keeping up, but this has been fixed. All in all it is a lovely little game that manages to stay fresh and enjoyable for the handful of hours it should take you to finish.
Obviously, the graphics cannot compete with newer games (GTA IV was already a huge difference compared to GTA-SA), but it is a FUN game, pure ridiculous fun!
The amount of space to explore is HUGE, and it's so much even to just drive arrive.
If you know not to expect a game that competes with current GTA series games, you are in for a lot of fun : )
I didn't like this game. Evidently it's trying to mirror Philiip K. Dick's imaginative style and it certainly it has a very novel way of play. Philip K. Dick was an eccentric science fiction writer who unbalanced his mind from excessive drug use. He imagined stepping from one reality into another...which reality was the 'real' one? Was it all in his mind? This game tries to deliver the mind-bending PKD experience to the player but it didn't work with me. Clever, yes, but mind-bending, no. Since the graphic style is ultra cartoonish I was never convinced of either reality. Others might have a different view, but you may like it.
This game has beautiful art, but it's very simplistic as far as playing is concerned. Guess if you really don't want to do much, this is okay to pass the time. Ends very abruptly.
I am loving the art style in this game. The exposition is a bit corny and agenda-based, but I would still consider it a good buy. Be warned, though: the game lags on my 13-inch Macbook Air, DESPITE meeting minimal requirements. This seems to happen far too often with indie games, and it is kind of annoying, since Bioshock infinite, a visually demanding AAA game, runs better than Californium, an indie game.
In short, interesting mechanics and an interesting story. If you must see for yourself, I recomend waiting for a sale.
I love puzzle games and this one was great. There were times i was furiously stuck for days on one thing.... but i found if i was really stuck, then spot was the answer!
Layers of Fear is not only a fascinating exploration game, it's also a work of art. Every detail contributes to a creepy and pervasive sensation of alienation and dread while preserving artistic coherence and integrity. In other words this game, in my opinion, is an esthetic experience as well an effective invocation of the macabre. You, the point of view character, are insane, and it's only getting worse. You are trying to complete a painting of your beloved, but you keep messing it up. You wander throught the rooms and corridors of this impossible old house while the storm beats relentlessly against the windows. You're looking for some connection to your lost love. I was impressed with how beautifully the house was realized and how it changes its configuration to reflect the confusion in your diseased mind. You can go through a door and turn around and the door is no longer there! At on point times seems to be progressing in reverse direction.
This game has a particular scenario that you follow, while giving the illusion of free will. But of course you don't have free will. Fate controls everything you do and there is no escape. However I found the experience exhilerating. You can't stop trying, exploring those endless creepy corridors and trick rooms trying to find some connection to your lost love. Is there a conclusion, a resolution? You'll just have to find out for yourself.
There are a few rather obscure puzzles, but not many. Mostly it's about atmosphere and suspense. I am impressed witih the artistry and imagination that went into creating this game. In quality of the both esthetics and gaming experience it is far and away better than most other games available in its class.
I am a HUGE fan of Agatha Christie's books and I was more than excited when I heard this game was out. I was expecting a mix of Grim Fandango and Blues and Bullets: mystery, humor, the occational thrilling action sequence, with a good twist at the end. Unfortunately, bad first impressions, paired with stiff controls and bad voice acting just turned me off. The story, I will say, is good, but not enough to compensate.
If you have to see for yourself, wait for a sale. This game isn't bed, but not worth the thirty dollars.
I, Personally, love this game. Might and Delight fully delivered, evolving the sequel of Shelter into one of the best playable visual experiences I have ever seen. Shelter 1 was about the circle of life, and how you have very little control in that circle. Shelter 2 is very free, but with your freedom comes consiquences. My first play through was so emotional. Like every game, I thought I could cheat the system and just mess around, and I didn't get away with it.
In short, play this game, or at least give it a chance. I can almost ensure you will have no regrets!
