Worms Special Edition
 –

Worms, and high explosives...

What could go wrong? Nothing as far as I can tell from this gem of a game. There are so many different goodies, and situations, that you can actually replay many rounds and still not get bored.

Graphics are not your high-demand bling bling style, but they are enough to be clean, smooth and enjoyable. The sounds are hilarious at times, and well "OH NO!"

Fun game solo or with a friend or few. Worth it.

Cities in Motion 2

Game spoilt by clunky pedantic interface

Potentially a fantastic game with amazing A.I. but most of your time will be wasted trying to get it to do what you want it to do because of the horrible controls and the fiddly way in which you have place objects.

City of Fools
 –

You'll love it or hate it.

The developers are very up front in letting you know that this game is silly and nonsensical, frustrating and ultimately pointless. It's tough sometimes to know exactly where you are or get where you want to go because of the way it has you move. But it's a pretty straightforward adventure game where you have to complete a series of tasks through talking to the various denizens of Tundrel. Refreshing in that it's not a HO game pretending to be something else.

Drawn: Trail of Shadows
 –

For those seeking something different...

I love the Drawn games. The makers used their imaginations and came up with tasks much different from the norm. I wish it was longer - perhaps the Deluxe edition is, but I can't afford it at the moment. If you're looking for pure joy, visual pleasure and a little something different to exercise your little grey cells, try this!

Great game, only minor flaws

Cities in Motion 2 is a fantastic game. It is an insane amount of fun to build these lines, expand the city, tune every little detail about your routes and just keep on expanding. Yesterday, my wife and I played a co-op multiplayer game for the better part of the day without even realising how the time went by, Civilization-style. I bought the game on Friday evening and by now (Monday morning), I've clocked 19+ hours in Steam. If you're like me, you'll definitely get your money's worth from this game.

However, there are some minor flaws in this game, too. It's nothing too major and won't keep you from enjoying the game, more like little annoyances. For example, streets can't be upgraded, so in order to add bus lanes to a street, you have to demolish it first and rebuild it after. If none of your routes go through that street, it's just time-consuming and a bit of a pain, but if you have bus stops in that street, those will be deleted and you will have to place new ones and make sure to adjust all relevant routes to use the new stops.

There are some more minor issues, but developer Paradox Interactive actively solicits user feedback, so I hope these issues will be fixed in a patch rather soon.

All in all, I can whole-heartidly recommend this game to anyone who likes building things.

Mystery Case Files: Shadow Lake Collector's Edition
 –

Engaging and Entertaining

The game was excellently done from start to finish. Spooky, engrossing, and actually gave me the chills a few times. Fun story, well designed game, and excellently executed. Challenging without being frustrating. I was a bit stunned when I saw who was playing Cassandra. I enjoyed it immensely.

Beautiful Graphics, Horrible Interface

I have played thru 90% of CiM1 and enjoyed it quite a bit. But CiM2 has an interface that seems as if they were trying to simplify but somehow became much more complex because it fails to act intuitively at all. Multiple times I found myself creating stops that appear as if they should connect but due to 1-way road lanes and strange interface choices regarding intersections, I have had to repeatedly delete items I built (at penalty of lost cash) because of the confusing interface. Instead of building off of CiM1 they tried to rewrite the whole design, and they made the game more beautiful to look at but sadly less enjoyable to play.

Still Crashing!

I can't believe they are still selling this game! I bought it a couple of years ago and it kept crashing! Many people complained about it and not only did they not fix it, they are still selling it knowing that it crashes! I really liked this game and hoped for a long time that they would fix it.

Royal Defense

Ridiculously hard

Okay, so I'm not any sort of games expert, and I'm only playing on the easy level, but the degree of difficulty ramps up so quickly that it's become impossible to move on to the next level.

COGS

A few basic skills but beautifully done

The interface is geat and the machnes very nicely done. There is only a handful of themes and basic techniques you use to get the machines to work correctly - sliding tiles, lining up gears, synchronizing chimes, connecting steam-pipes - but it is a good mental work-out and a lot of care was put into the game.

The Cave
 –

Nice Game but not perfect

The Cave is a really good Adventure game but is still far from perfect. If you look at the price, it's a MUST HAVE, because you get a lot for your money.

+ 7 characters (3 playable at a time)
+ Story and narration
+ Each character has his own section in the cave and his own story

- Puzzles are 90% cheesy
- Too much running arround within the puzzle-areas
- If you want to play all characters you have to play it 3 times, and do 50% of the puzzles multiple times

All in all a quite funny, athmospheric, in some points old school adventure by Mr Ron Gilbert himself. It has its glitches, but especially for this price it was a great buy and I had hours of fun with it.

Cant Stop Playing!

I really like this game a lot. I dont know what to say, its just really well-put together.

Royal Defense is a tower defense game that is so refreshing to see among all of the casual games that have been spewed out lately from most developers who seem to care not a bit about the quality of their crud.

So I am always truly grateful when I find a game where I can tell that they actually TRIED & this is certainly one of them. Its got the good gameplay length, the variety, lots of levels, all that.

I would've liked it better if I could access the top part of my screen! I had to keep backing out to get to the play button and sometimes it wouldn't let me get above the screen when i was playing! AARRGGHH!

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
 –

Very good game, but lacking...

Borderlands is a very good game, and I've enjoyed it both times I've played through the main campaign. Looting and selling is fun (if a bit overwhelming — almost too many choices!).

I love the look and the atmosphere, and overall the story is pretty good. The endgame felt like it came out of left field, and there's a point at which the difficulty level jumps quite a bit (not necessarily a bad thing).

My only real frustration is that once the story starts moving toward the endgame, things go by very fast. I wished that I had a little more time to spend in some of the areas later in the game — perhaps a few more side missions and such.

But the game's a hell of a lot of fun, especially once you get some of the really powerful or unique weapons (Holy crap! It shoots rockets!), and I'd definitely recommend it if your system can handle it. I've got a 3.4 GHz i7 iMac with 16GB RAM and 2GB Radeon HD 6970M, and still have some framerate issues and higher graphics settings, so be warned.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned was fun and creepy and, in some places, nightmarishly tough. Didn't care for Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot — just arena combat with no story. The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is the best DLC in my opinion, if a little too silly at times. Haven't made it through Claptraps Robot Revolution yet.

I've been very much looking forward to Borderlands 2, which I just picked up through the Mac App Store to avoid having to use Steam, so pretty soon I'll be headed back to Pandora in a quest for more loot.

Bridge Project

One big problem

Graphics are good and the carnage is comical, but the interface is absolutely horrible. This game is not worth the $25 price. I think a fair price to ask would be the $10 or less range.

Great game for transportation buffs and mac users who cant wait for simcity

The transportation and size of this city is amazing it lets you put the routes where ever you want. and has traffic problems like a real city, The only thing i do not like is that buildings sometimes downgrade which is a nucence when you but down a route and all your customers move away also the 7 day thing is annoing waiting for the money to come in a 3 day weekday friday weekend would be preferable

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3
 –

Campaign too difficult and tech tree is hard to build up

I looked forward to Red Alert 3 because I had so much fun with Red Alert 2. However, while the increased variety of units and new emphasis on naval combat made the game more interesting, the campaign is extremely frustrating to play unless you have another friend to play co-op. The odds are stacked against you so high that the later campaigns often take several tries to get it right (even on easy mode). In addition, the tech tree is confusing, and the need to "upgrade" individual structures, construction yards, etc in addition to high tier tech structures make it difficult to build up your tech tree quickly, which only adds to the difficulty of the more advanced missions. Multi-player is fun though, but if you want to play the campaign, be prepared to be frustrated, a lot.

Too Much Crash

The game is very enjoyable except for the frequent crashings. I don't play much games on the mac and I have never experienced crashing like this. Other than that it is a refreshing change from the usual.
