Waste of money. Unending dialogue. No wonder there's no demo. I won't be fooled again.

Classic Style! Brings back Memories of Point and Click Adventure Gaming

If you don't know who Sierra and LucasArts are or what got them started, Due to being born in the 90's or not having a PC. It was classic point and click adventure games like this one! If I didn't know this was a tribute to the golden age of adventure gaming i'd think this came directly from it. Collecting inventory, creating little inventions and pin pointing when and where to use everything you gather. THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A PIXELED LOOK as to take back the veteran adventure gamers to a time when Indiana Jones FOA, Day of The Tentacle, Kings Quest, and more were top of the shelf, and sooo much fun...!! Yes this game even captures the humor and time displaced background objects of Monkey Island. Very entertaining for people who remember the days of true point and click adventure before these silly hidden object games. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's episode based and I don't like having to wait for episodes, especially not for this unless its a sequel. But all in all I will definitely be grabbing episode 2..

Not worth the 10 bucks!

It's about a 1/10th of a game. Bad graphics and about an hour at best of game play.

The 39 Steps

Not a puzzle or adventure game

This is not a game at all but a kind of interactive cartoon adaptation of Buchan's book; it's quite well done but there aren't actual puzzles to solve, just fixed steps to take to advance the story. If you wish to be entertained by Buchan's story and participate in it very slightly, you will enjoy this; if you are looking for a challenge or a diverting puzzle, stay away.

Poorly done

I have to agree with Captain Skurvy - not a fun game at all. It reminds me of Amerzone, a game that may have been OK on PC but that makes no sense in its Mac version. The only way I could finish it was with a walkthrough written for PC, and it is clear that the Mac version is a really bad copy. On the one hand, you know exactly where to click because there is a gear or hand icon on it; on the other, even knowing what needs clicking, the way things fit together is illogical. So to reiterate: don't waste your time and money!

An extremely worthwhile experience !

Its new and fantastically engaging. As faithful to the book as it is possible to be and has a wonderful pace to it. The tone of the writing is beautifully brought forward through the illustration and it feels like the novel should. It is a casual experience and I wouldn't call it a game, it is a strong narrative lead experience that brings a page of written words to life in a smooth easy to use and atmospheric fashion.

Give it a try, worth the investment !

10.8

I used to really like this game when I played it on 10.6.8. Since I upgraded to 10.8 it always crashes my iMac. All my other OSX games such as Borderlands still work fine

Won't even launch!

I got this fame. My Mac has the specs to easily run it, however it will not even launch.

Boo! I support Mac games, but they've got to be more stable or it's a waste of time and money.

Sid Meier's Railroads!

Booring

Its a nice game and the best railroad game I've ever played for the first 1-2 days. Than it gets boring. I wouldnt suggest it if you don't want to gibe 30 dolllar for 2 days.

Crashes every 10 - 20 minutes

Very unstable. Long time to start (even on my SSD), some playing (inconvenient control), crash. Better to buy the PC version, much cheaper and less crashes.

A Valley Without Wind 2
 –

Ambitious title ends up mediocre on all fronts.

This is a neat idea, a platform strategy empire builder game all in one. My problem is that none of the three is represented very well. I have each of these types of games in a vastly superior version. If I wanted to play any one of these I would rather do just that, rather than trying to play a poor version of them all at once. Most parts of the game feel like a free flash game. Its not a super expeinsive game but its the first one I bought off Mac Game Store that I regret.

Fairy Treasure

Fairy Treasure

Wonderful brick-breaking game with lovely, upbeat and almost trance-inducing soundtrack, smooth and visually interesting play BUT BADLY IN NEED OF UPDATING. MacGamestore's version will play on my iMac with OSX (10.8.3) but reduces screen resolution to ancient proportions which leave my main screen in disarray when it is returned upon quit. Still, a much more sophisticated example of this game genre than almost anything I've seen since its 2007 creation date.

The Bard's Tale
 –

Pre-Alpha version

Crashes every few minutes during the dialogs. Additional to that the storyteller stops after e few words and than all you can hear is silence, so you have to read what's going on, but that takes away a lot of the atmosphere of the game.

Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods and Kings
 –

1 star

I dont understand why, but everytime I set up a scenario the game `quits unexpectedly` I seriously think about requiring a refund because I cant play the game. I play it on my brand new macbook pro retina so I guess the problem wont be the hardware. I am very very disappointed and for the price I would like some solution from the game creators because this game just does not work. Even while playing the tutorials the game quits unexpectedly all the time.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME

There is a reason ths game has no demo once people played a demo they would not bother buying this game.

It's a very very very bad implementation of a point and click adventure and over the many many years i have played just about most of them, this would have to rank as one if not the worst

definitly NOT worth your mney or effort

I am sorry i wasted mine please dont waste yours

graphics low res and blurry - hurts my eyes

gameplay no logic to what you have to do and very little visual if no feedback eg when you pick up something to usually some animated sequence normaly shows the results eg placing a key from inventory shows key in door and lock turning or door unlocking - not so with this game

very little you can do in any given area e.g. the blurry artwork is mainly just that very little is any area is active in any way and most of that is movement.

there is much much much better games out there for even a cheaper price than this waste of space if price is an issue.

I could name a few recent ones but i not sure if they are availbale on this site so i will not short change Mac Game Store which runs an execllent site but like most other sites bad apples get into the app barrel and you should not judge this site by this review andthis "game" they carry many excellent games at some great price discounts
