International Snooker 2012
 –

Fantastic

Snooker games can be hit or miss depending on the physics and camera angles. This game is fantastic in both areas. If you understand snooker from the point of view of spin and angles you will get hours of fun break building without it being too easy. The sound and presentation are first class. Considering the price , this has to be one of the best games I have purchased from Mac Game Store.

The Great Unknown: Houdini's Castle
 –

What an Escapade

I really liked this game. Finally something new in the hidden object genre. The graphics were well done and I enjoyed it thoroughly. You really have to think as to where you could go next. I found myself backtracking over and over until I realized I had missed a place where I could turn and find something new. There was quite a bit of backtracking back and forth to find one tiny item that did you no good, and that was a tad frustrating, but I enjoyed it much more than I have any other in a long time. It was something NEW. Not the same old company with the same old graphics with the same old crows flying here and there. And there was not one red eyed cloaked man to be had!

Dracula 2 - The Last Sanctuary
 –

Very Buggy - does not work properly

There seem to be major flaws - does not work properly. E.g., you can not hold all of the items you pic up, but you need them then later. Very mono-threaded story line, often allows only thing to do. Do not recommend that game.

Risk
 –

Good Ole Risk

Game is just like the board. It's a classic and If you liked the board version then you'll like the convenience of this one. You can customize it via the board game rules in Advanced settings, but as an added bonus you don't have to worry about knocking over your pieces or not having enough pieces to stack. Plus there's an option for instant battle determination (instead of waiting for all the dice rolls). Just like the actual board game you'll have good and bad dice roll streaks. I always liked Risk so I enjoy this one very much. The biggest downfall is there is no online vs matches against other players world wide. Playing comp is ok, but there's nothing like online gaming to take things to the next level...

Dracula 3 - The Path of the Dragon
 –

Lots of occult themes

The game is well made, but I personally really dislike how much horror/occult imagery there is in the game. I have to say, the story is quite sophisticated and carefully done, the dialogue clever; I just don't like to be that immersed in dark and troubling imagery.

Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Edition
 –

Don't bother

Controls are poorly explained and not well thought out. Buy Brotherhood instead - far superior. This is a very poor port to the Mac.

Fun enough but buggy

Game often quits unexpectedly, can't even finish a level after the first few. Fix the bug, please and I'll change my rating. Mountain Lion, iMac 9,1

Machinarium

Excellent

This is an excellent game. A well conceived story where our little robot wins the day against the bad guys and gets the girl. Some very hard puzzles but with the luxury of clues to help you along. Loved the locked walkthrough where you have to open it by winning a wee computer game. A most enjoyable game and a bargain. Sequel please.

Crazy Machines

Terrific

This is a great game. I love the Rube Goldberg/Heath Robinson style of very complex and clever techniques to accomplish simple tasks. Some of the levels are extremely challenging and others very simple; a couple of times I thought there must be a bug because a level seemed so hard to finish but every level can be done - sometimes you need to be very precise with placement. The game rewards creativity - you can accomplish the tasks any way you like but the set-up sometimes requires you to do counter-intuitive things with gears, magnets, explosives, lights, boilers, steam engines. It's like a virtual marble run for adults. Totally worth the money and you can play it for many, many hours.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut
 –

Stability issues in 10.8.3

Made it through the intro fine, but once the real game starts it's been crashing randomly every 5-10 minutes. Some issue with whatever wine/cider emulator the port uses. Be sure and save often. The irritation of constantly redoing stuff due to crashes makes this unplayable for me, shame.

Twilight Phenomena: The Lodgers of House 13
 –

Surprisingly fun

When I started the game I had no expectations. I decided to give it a try because of the funny introduction. After completing it, I have no other words for it but to say it's very challenging and the hand painted areas look awesome. It has some kind of retro comic style to it and reminds a bit of scooby doo story wise. It's a little short, it took me about 7 hours to complete, but considering the price tag that's alright. Nice!!

Runaway With The Circus
 –

So-so

The bad resolution of the artwork in this game sometimes make it very difficult to recognize an object. Also, it's quite obvious the makers aren't American because they don't know the difference between a bowler hat and a fedora and one of the men even had his fedora on backwards. It's an okay game but not a great game.

The Sims Medieval
 –

Fascinating

The quests are short stories and I admit that I'm hooked on this game and cannot wait to watch the plot unfold. I try to guess the outcome and am enjoying these games. While it is true that you cannot maneuver well, that is not the point and you'll adapt quickly.

Lost games

I love the game but it really upsets me, when I feel I wish to leave the game for a while I come back and the game was not saved. It doesn't do this all the time. I had just about finished 30 and when I came back in to continue the game it had been erased. Whats with this. What is the procedure for the exit, could I be doing that wrong? Should I only exit from the first prompt or should I go to main menu to exit.
Thanks Darlene

Charming puzzle game - music is not irritating but is like tinker bell type of music; webs get harder to solve as game progresses; entertaining overall
