A FPS! That's....::Dramatic Pause:: LINEAR!!! My god....I've never heard of such a thing. How horribly terrible. How god-freaking-AWFUL.
If you don't like the controls, or have decided to be a snob about the graphics, that's perfectly fine. Logical, even. But to legitimately complain about a first person shooter for being linear....come on now. That's like if a lactose intolerance person ordered a pizza, and then demanded your money back because it upset your stomach. Come now dude; you knew what you were getting yourself into.
Simple but addictive. It is not a whole lot different from Ranch Rush 1, but, you get to go fishing in RR2. I think I got all trophies in RR1 but could not in RR2.
First of all, a big Thank You to Macgamestore for offering this game to us Mac users. I have been waiting since October 2011 for this game.
PopCap did a nice job with this game. The setting is in New England in Autumn. So the scenes are quite colorful. The graphics are sharp and clear which is very helpful when trying to locate hidden objects. The puzzles are easy and relaxing. There are also 3 different types of games which can be played. I highly recommend this game for those of us who love straight hidden object games.
I wish i hadn't gone in to this game with such high expectations, for one with the graphics dumbed down a bit the game runs smooth on my mid 09 2.53ghz 9400m mbp, second I expected this to be an open world game, but everything is split into areas, third the weapons and vehicles are awesome but there really isn't much interaction with npcs other than the ones you have to kill. I found this game to be more frustrating than fun, Some of the maps you have to traverse just to fight a boss is ridiculous, than when you kill the boss you have to run all the way back through waves of npcs you just killed to the start of the map, this is the same with quests and looting. I also hate the fact that you have to switch weapons every couple of missions to find whats better, every time I found a gun that I liked there was always something a little better. trust me, looting was fun for a while than you start to realize how tedious it really is.
Considering this is a Mac game website, many of you should be very familiar with Lode Runner; that awesome game that ran of the E Mac computers (and a few other models). Even though the Lode Runner Game has been re-done, Richie the Gnome is very similar to the original game play. The characters on Richie the Gnome are funny, especially the goblins. Definitely worth the price.
This game plays like first generation computer games. It is sluggish. I does and doesn't work. The graphics are too dark. The sound is inferior. Total waste of your money. Spend it on toilet paper instead. It is at least usable.
Both of these games, only thing is the online mode with having to get on gameranger and not being able to see servers just searching is pretty horrible doesn't seem like anyone even plays this online.
I enjoyed exploring this world until the different scenarios started to flake out. I eventually concluded it wasn't programed well enough for sustained play.
It's strange to call a game adorable, but that's exactly what it is. The story line is sweet and the characters are cute. The game is short, but the puzzles are challenging. The artwork is fascinating. If you look at the scenery it's an amazing blend of organic and mechanical.
I agree with another reviewer. I wish there was a way to save your place. But I guess you could write down the name of the level so that you could get back there without having to start over if you have to quit. Otherwise, it was well worth the money and I'll play it again.
Really fun game.. especially because the skip puzzle button has less time on it than most. Loved other things about it. Not happy because the game only took three hours on my time to solve.
Excellent game but had a bit of trouble when downloaded. The screen hid the menu bar under the dock so made it difficult to play. However with a bit of fiddling about I was able to resize it. I am using a MacBook Pro so hope this helps anyone else with same problem.
I have had this game for several years. I still play it, when I have the time as the challenge of finding a better strategy never wanes. My only negative is why the makers never came out with upgrades. I'm sorry more folks have not tried this game, but as one of the other reviewers learned, it is can use much memory. I have a G5 Intel Xenon with 6 GB of memory. However, when I purchased this 3 years ago, I had a standard G4 and it still worked just great since I had about over 20 GB of Ram. I don't believe this game requires massive VRAM, but other games like Quake do. If you are purchasing a new MAC get the most VRAM you can afford. I have 1024 MB in the ATI Radeon HD5870.
Above all, I suggest you give this little game a try-if you like to try out new strategies and tactics, especially on the 10 wave mode which is my favorite.
Sometimes clones are fun. This is NOT fun, just frustrating to look at.
This game is a near identical copy of Might And Magic in details such as the creatures and the quantity of creatures gained each week, the special events each week, heros movement and interaction, battles, building cities, the list goes on.
It differs from Might And Magic with graphics so poor that it is sometimes hard to tell what you are clicking on, an mini map so muddled that it is unusable, buildings lacking descriptions for what they do, creatures lack any viewable stats.
In addition, no publisher's detail are given. The official Palm Heros website lacks company information and asks the public to " follow our official Twitter to get in touch".
Assassin's Creed 2 looks great, feels great, it even smells good (don't ask me about drugs). This game works very very smooth graphic options all set on max (Mac Pro 4-core Xeon, 8GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD 5770). I have no issues at all. I play it with keyboard only, with some reconfiguration and half an hour practice i have it down pat.
I enjoy hidden object games made by this company because things can actually be found, even if not the first time, because the pictures are clear, and clean. I've tried a few that just weren't fun because they were too low definition, or something. I love the word puzzles, but not the match 3, because I'm used to Bejeweled and this can't come close to that.
