MAKING HISTORY II: The War of the World
 –

Interesting Concept

An interesting concept marred by too much complexity and not enough information given to understand how to play. Making History II will remind you of games such as Europa Unversalis; highly complex and difficult to get into. However, unlike the EU series, there is little historical context to wrap your head around, no instructions, and no tutorial. You might give up after futile attempts to understrand the game as I did. Worse, there seems to be a problem with how this game actuslly operates: it uses Java which has been a problem on many versions of Mac OS. If you want to play this game make sure you download and install the appropriate version of Java for your Mac OS. Apple does not do this automatically anymore because of security issues with Java.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
 –

A Fun Shooter

Borderlands is a very good SF shooter that places your character on a very interesting world filled with dangers and surprises. The graphics are comic-like which might turn off those who want a more realistic shooter filled with blood and violence. This one is filled with humor and is an excellent intro to the even better sequel and prequel. Recommended.

An Instant Favorite

Beautiful story, heartwrenching decisions, and a very fresh style of gameplay. Definitely a must have for gamers, especially zombie fans.

Too limited...

The idea of the game is great. The problem is that once you understand how it works, it becomes a pure exercise of luck with the dice... No challenges at all... Needs more thinking and development, in my opinion.

Star Wars: Empire at War

A bit slow...

The game is great - especially if you are a star wras fan! - however, I found it a bit slow and to progress through the missions is a bit too lsow for my taste. Still, if you find it on offer, I would recommend it!

Europa Universalis III Chronicles
 –

One of the best

I can't begin to estimate how many hours I spent playing this game... If you love modern history as I do, You're in for a treat.
Very detailed and complex, yet fun and challenging. The learning curve is a little steep but it's definitely worth it.

The Tiny Bang Story
 –

Deceptively simple and fiendishly clever

Okay, firstly not something I would have probably bought, I got it as a free with purchase game...and so thought I'd give it a go....I've got stuck 4 times so far on puzzles. It's a mixture of HO and puzzles which I really like, the graphics are beautiful in a simple way but it is dastardly...I take off my hat to another reviewer's 7 year old who apparently completed this easily with no help...I've banned myself from looking up solutions to the puzzles and am sweating it out. Will it keep you engaged? Yes. Will you quit in frustration any number of times? Probably. But will you keep going back for more? Absolutely. Warning though - not for the easily annoyed.

Enchanting experience

This was I think my first real point and click adventure game that I played through. It is a really beautiful game, very well thought through with cozy visuals. it can actually be quite a challenge. All in all, I would recommend it for a relaxing evening, when you just want to get out of it. It can be quite a brain excersise while the soothing music makes it an overall very enjoyable experience.
