Europa Universalis IV
 –

Awesome game

EU4 is an awesome grand strategy game but I would probably say that some DLCs are "obligatory" to me like Common Sense and Art of War.

Stellaris: Utopia

Pretty good

This is pretty good but considering most of the stuff added is endgame content it takes a while to get to but who doesnt like ringworlds and dyson spheres?

This War of Mine
 –

It's alright.

I've played better games but this one is okay for a $5 sale price. For the survival mechanics that are there, there's a decent amount of depth to the. Problem is, there's very few of those mechanics.

It also has no tutorial whatsoever so prepare to go into it blindly.

Hearts of Iron IV
 –

Some alternate history?

Communist France ally with the Soviet Union against the capitalist enemies of United Kingdom and United States after they defeated the German Reich and split up central Europe among themselves?

All possible with some patience and the right decisions...

Another nice grand strategy game by Paradox, not that great as EU IV or CK II, but I love it just the same. Never played HOI III so I cannot say something about changes.

I like how you can set up different divisions according to your tech level and the idea of setting up battle plans and carry them out afterwards.

But the strongest point in my opinion is the possibility to play around with history.

Its a classic... why not update it for a modern OS???!!!!

This game is a prime reason that I dont toss out my old computers... some apps and games are just too dame good to let go of! I dusted off a 10 year old Mac runing 10.6 just so that I could play this classic game. The game play (and even graphics) hold up well even today. I still play COD2 (on a modern OS, go figure) and I actually feel that the orginal COD is not only more fun to play, but has equal grafics.

Crusader Kings II DLC Collection
 –

Good way to start the DLC collection

If you just purchased the base game, this is a great way to start when it comes to DLCs, especially if you like to have all of them eventually.

Hearts of Iron IV: Colonel Edition
 –

Better than HOI 3

With Hearts of Iron 4 Paradox really tries to update this classic game and mostly succeeds. Some of the changes are a bit controversial for some players while the game (like all paradox games) will keep evolving with the DLC's however it seems like this will be a far better effort than the mediocre Hearts of Iron 3. Of course some of the usual problems persist like A.I naval invasions which are as usual problematic and although theoretically you can play as any country in the world the fact that only a dozen countries have their own national focus trees(as of now at least) makes playing the other ones a bland and generic experiance.

The Pink Sreen of Death

Purchased this game today. Downloaded it. Went to play it and all that opened was a vibrating pink screen which can only be removed by shutting down your computer.
Any advice on how I might fix this situation would be greatly appreciated. (I'm old, and relatively new to Mac games).

Europa Universalis IV: Mare Nostrum
 –

Good expansion

A good expansion, one of those you must have. It is a bit expensive, though, and I advise you to buy it with at least a -50% discout.

3D Chess
 –

BUGS!

This game looks good and runs good BUT...it doesn't seem to know what legal moves are and aren't. It would not let me move my bishop diagonally, like a bishop is supposed to move. It would let me move any other piece correctly but not the bishop. After I moved another piece, sure enough, a pawn took it. That was enough to delete it and kiss my $5 good bye. So, if they can fix whatever bug was causing this kind of nonsense, it may be a nice chess game.
