Hoyle Card Games 2008
 –

Ho Hum

Yeah, besides being unchallenging because of the the bug that deals the same first hand every time, it also scores many games completely inaccurately, even according to their official rules. My advice....wait til they have a patch for this one!

I do like the enjoyment to earning points and being able to "virtual buy." That's something I enjoyed in the puzzle and board game and it's more fun in this one.

Righteous Kill

Easy hidden items game

The items are for the most part very easy to find. I do like how the hints work. There's not a number of hints, but there is a delay before you can use another hint.

Too many bugs!

At first it was good fun, but the game is too buggy. I don't know if it's because it's the Mac version (playing on a Mini), but the game becomes very frustrating after a few levels. You complete a quest, but don't get credit for it. Or you get killed and end up on a level that has no exit. Then you find that the quests you get next are for the level you just cleared out-too late. Or you get killed and quit (which should work, according to the manual), only to find that the game crashes when you try to reload.
Incidentally, Wild Tangent said they couldn't help me at all with my issues because they weren't responsible for the Mac version.
It's really too bad, because it could be a lot of fun if I weren't grinding my teeth in frustration. I want my experience and fame, darnit!
There are cheats, of course, but it's not the same somehow.

Disappointing

If you have played Bookworm Deluxe for hundreds of hours like I have, this might seem like a refreshing alternative. And to some extent it is, with different scoring and triple word scores for a few seconds after completing a level. But tile selection is very buggy, you can lose selections or it will score prematurely. And the dictionary is the pits! In the hour that I played, it rejected some twenty legitimate words.

Bottom line, too mouse-buggy and bad dictionary

Like it so far

I have only played the demo but I could tell it is the type of game I could spend a lot of time on and get addicted. I am sure I will purchase it. You can tell there is a lot of replay value.....like cards. I liked that you can stop at anytime and it doesn't affect the game. I have yet to find all the ins and outs of the game but it is very easy to get hooked on.

Hoyle Card Games

My grandson and I really like Hoyle cards. The new characters are ok, but I missed Maurice and the puppet.

Secret of the Lost Cavern
 –

It's About Time

Since the discontinuation of many of the Myst style of games I've spent countless hours and money trying to find something similar. This game is one of the best adventure games I've played in a very long time. It has a great story line; excellent puzzles - some easy, some not so easy; beautifully rendered graphics; great variety of music and good gameplay. Would love to see more just like this!!!

Real Estate Empire

This is a real LEMON. You have the 1 level and your town never changes. You stay in the same town buying and selling the same houses. Really disappointed in this game. Would not recommend anyone to buy it. Real disappointment!

Almost impossible to break higher levels-

I've had this game for several years and have not been able to break the "Chief" level. It's an engaging game with good sound effects and music. Besides making chains and scoring points, the detective side of the game is actually the most fun. By using clues, crimes are solved. I just wish I could get unstuck!

Women's Murder Club: Death In Scarlet
 –

Women's Murder Club

I bought this game not knowing there was only one case to solve. When I finished, I thought there would be a new murder case, but I was wrong. The hidden puzzles and games were exceptionally fun and had wonderful graphics. Maybe they'll offer an update with more murder files to add to it!

Fun way to de-stress

Although this is a relatively easy seek and find game, I give it props for having one of the most upbeat, happy, jazzy and retro music score. It's a delightful way to spend time without stress or constrained time limits. The use of riddles for clues and a magnifying glass to locate items adds to the fun. This is a game I probably will buy. The 60 minute demo left me wanting more!

The Great International Word Search
 –

A classic word search

Prepare to spend several eye-blurring hours on this classic word search. Many of the words are unfamiliar, making for some challenging searches. Sometimes the game was a bit picky about word selection, especially with words along the edges.

The "story", unfortunately, plays a secondary role, serving as little more than a way to move from puzzle to puzzle. You can have up to three hints per puzzle-the two you always start each new puzzle with, plus one hidden in each puzzle. Beware, though. While hints carry over to the mini-games, they don't carry over from one puzzle to the next, and the mini-games are few and far between.

All in all, its a good, challenging word search... but one that could have taken better advantage of the medium.

Bob The Builder: Can-Do Zoo
 –

Disapointing

This game is very simple. It cycles through 8 short games at three levels of difficulty. Sadly it repeats the exact same puzzles at different levels, sometimes at several levels in a row. My kids who do not use a computer a lot were quickly board at they had just figured out the same puzzle a minute a go. The graphics are classic Bob the Builder so my kids loved that and the music kept them rocking while it drove me crazy with it's repetition. The game play was smooth and easy for my kids to figure out (3 and 5 years old), but again the games them selves quickly became old hat.

Not Worth Investment

This game is very easy to beat and isn't worth the $20 to play. I would suggest looking for a more challenging title if you want to get you money's worth.

Challenging and Fun Game

This game is easy to get into but difficult to beat. It will keep you entertained for quite a while and even includes bonus levels once you've achieved the main goal. Lots of fun.

The Great International Word Search

Let me know

I started playing the demo late at night waiting for my teen to get home (you know the feeling lol) I wanted something easy and being an avid game player I thought this would be perfect. Well it took me the whole demo and I didn't even finish the first puzzle lol. I don't know if the rest of the games is good or different. But if it is just word search it would be cheaper to buy a puzzle magazine. Anyways for the life of me I could not find LION CITY........if anyone buys the game let me know where it is and if there is more to the game. Thanks

Venice Mystery

We have had this game for several years and it is always funto come back to even after finishing it. We experienced no glitches but we may have an older game. It is fun to find the pieces to fill in the paintings. The graphics are great and it is a real keeper.

True - there seem to be endless bugs with this game but after awhile it seems to have worked out. I play it still - off and on - because there is always a challenge with it. But, as with other reviewers - it can be frustrating. I probably would not buy it had I known the problems.

Mahjong Forests
 –

MahJong Forest

This is a thoughtful, quiet matching game which does take more strategy than one might expect. The tiles are many and varied - most are beautiful, some are a little unsettling. It is the kind of game one plays late at night when you can't sleep. The tiles are exceptionally beautiful. Not for those who want lots of action, boom and bang. Reflective and meditative.

Fun!

Really fun. I play it on a Mac mini, works fine. Very stable. I have no problems with it. A lot of value for the money.
