Adventure Chronicles: The Search for Lost Treasure
 –

Great game!

I really enjoyed this game. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible. The settings are interesting and I like the geocache extras. I''m looking forward to more of these. A few suggestions-more puzzles within the scenes, (to open boxes, assemble clay tablet maps, etc)

Hidden Secrets: The Nightmare

Fun and interesting game

I liked this game a lot, and it was great having a storyline to go with the puzzles.

However what really spoilt my enjoyment was the intensely short time limits - by the end they were just crazy. For example the roads puzzle, I ended up cheating the last three levels just to finish in time. It was an easy enough minigame, but there wasn't time to work it out properly.

It wasn't actually Tom though was it? More like an accident.

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones
 –

8.5 out of 10

good actors voices and good characters. The bosses and chariot races are cool and the quick kills are great. The dark prince himself playbe better on the mac than on any of the other game consoles. It is a big improvement over the previous two games. The game offers challenging combat, stealth and platforming. The graphics may see a wee bit outdated but the PRINCE OF PERSIA has always been about guiding your character through obstacles , avoiding boobytraps etc. Now they are making a movie of it too.

Well worth buying!

Eschalon: Book I

Interesting adventure

I was surprised by this game, I usually play classic Avernum game series but this game is better in some aspects.

It has interesting storyline, very enjoyable graphics and randomly generated treasures in most places. You can choose from 5 classes, axioms, origins and there are many skills to learn, so you can re-play the game using completely another style.

ARGH! Hints.

This is a fun little game, except that you can't turn the hints off. If you take too long to move, it gives you a move. What is the fun in that? It's not a complicated game. :-p I unclicked both Tips and Hints, but still get these little hints. It's something I personally hate in a game, so it turned me off and made me sorry I bought it. Hints should be an option.

Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs
 –

Renews the Replay Value

AOE 3: the Warchiefs expansion seemed at first glance a tad pricey: an expansion pack that is as expensive as the original game? But once you get into it, you realize it alters the original game, and the way its played, enough to more than justify its cost.

First off, the single player campaign is as lengthy as AOE 3. Its an almost-as-engrossing storyline, with almost-as-interesting characters. The missions have been creatively remixed with never before seen win conditions. Its a blast.

Second, and most importantly, the skirmishes are turned upside down and inside out, in a GREAT way. The addition of the 3 new nations: Iroquois, Sioux, and Aztec totally changes the game. They are obviously not European, and therefore do not build fortresses, or advance in tech the same way. They are highly mobile, with all new classes and weapons, and town design is radically different. The "Warchiefs" (see Explorer) are now capable of becoming an army in their own right: they can "charm" treasure guardians to become theirs, and add buffs to surrounding units. They also can be upgraded to become formidable warriors with hitpoints up to 2000. Gone are the days of listening to your explorer moaning because an alligator killed him over 30 wood!

The native societies advance differently too: ceremonial fires provide an array of buffs to your town, warriors, production, etc, which allow you to really experiment with how to win a map. For example, the Sioux do not need to build any houses: they start with 200 pop...teepees can be built simply to give defenders a bonus! Iroquois huts have an attack!

Added to this are 3 other fun changes: there is a new victory condition - trade monopoly. If you control 2/3 of the trading posts on a map, you can start a countdown timer to win...if you can hold on to your trading posts! Another is the addition of NEW units to your existing European armies that revitalize playing them. Lastly, and most significantly, as a European nation, you can declare "Revolution:" break away from your home country, and place your entire society on a War footing, producing militia instead of settlers, new weapons, and as many fortresses as you can handle!

Warchiefs is slightly more graphics-heavy than the original, altho it plays perfect on my macbook with 2 GB's of Ram and the GMA 950 integrated graphics card.

All in all, it is worth the price, and will get you back into your beloved AOE 3 for months to come.

Only the names have been changed

If you have played Big Kahnua...well this is the exact game with different scenery. Yes you can fix your own aquarium, but the boards, bombs and the way they work is exactly Big Kahuna which was a great game the first time. If you have not played Big Kahuna then you will enjoy this and it will seem fresh. I cannot stress how identical everything is other than fixing the aquarium up. Yay for novices to the genre ....nay if you already own BIG KAHUNA or the several like ti out there!

Harvest: Massive Encounter

RTS, as you've never seen one!

RTS, as you've never seen one! You can take that literally. With that sentece, I really ment that there is no other RTS where you can compare this one with. Oxeye created a whole new dimension of RTS gameplay with this game.

What are the differences between H:ME and the standard RTS? Well, to begin with, it's a very simple concept. There are only 5 different buildings, one resource to build those buildings with, and there are no units. That gives you only one option: turtelling.

What is turtelling? You defend you're base with a defensive line. As soon as your base can't expand within these lines, you need another defensive line, and expand your base again. This is one of the most defensive way of playing RTS games.

But it's the only way to play H:ME. You can't attack your enemy. The enemy comes to you, and you'll have a hard time defending yourself against your enemy.

There are different game modes that will expand the gametime a lot. And they added some extra goals to reach. Altogether, you get a pretty good and very original game for a low price. You'll defenately have a lot of hours fun with this game.

Good... missed the excellent mark be being too short

Great game. Interesting stories. My type of game totally and it is fun to be with the charcters we have come to know so well after all the year. It really is FAR TOO SHORT though.

I certainly hope the next one will be much longer and I will for one buy it.

Nightshift Legacy: The Jaguar's Eye
 –

Good for your standard H/O game

Is there anything new here? NO! But they do a decent job of the typical h/o game. There are 6 long chapters and good character games. The mini games are fun . They may seem quite easy at first, but, you can assured they get much more difficult as the game goes on. If you are a H/O nut then you will love this. There is nothing really new here but it does a good job of the standard game.

Dissapointing

This isn't a fun game. It's a lot of minigames. If you like minigames, it might be allright, but you can do this for free too. But here you get a dissapointing collection of them. It becomes boring after one game, but you have to it over and over again. $24.95 isn't even close to a fair price, but what is? I wouldn't even download it for free.

Great Game

A match 3 a little that is different from the typical Kahuna reef etc. additive and a lot of fun. Not as hard as jewelquest 3. Once you start you want to play right through!

A fun better than average match 3 game

This is a fantasy themed match 3 and is a refreshing change from the typical match 3. Great visuals and it actually has a story incorporated into it. The only flaw I found was that it could end up being a bit repetitious but that happens with all match 3 excluding
Ancient quest of Saqqarah which has raised the bar. It is a lot of fun from start to finish though and if this is your genre, you will love it!

If you like hidden object games you'll love this

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled for this game. Hidden object games are my fav - and I have played many. This one tops the charts. It's has cool things to find other than just objects. Also when you have finished you can go to 'blitz mode' which is even more fun. Recommend purchase of this one. Enjoy! (i did)

Fun but not enough.

It's nice, unique and enjoyable game, but I find it not worth it's price, because even old Battlefield 1942 gives more fun.

Postal 2: Share The Pain
 –

Not as good as the movie...

... and this means: This game is far away to be fun. It's not the ugly graphics. It's the desastrous gameplay. Just imagine a GTA Vice City for the very poor. This is what Postal 2 is.

I Like This Game!

The graphics and music are beautiful. I purchased it because it's a lovely way to relax and gently test your observation. There is also an option to play it timed. Just overall a very nice game.

Excellent game

This is a great game. The graphics are really good. The only suggestion would be enabling you to change from the heads down view. But this addicting.
