FlatOut 2

IT'S A BLAST

Highly recommended. Lots of destructable tracks that leave trash and debrie all over the road. Many cool deforming vehicles to thrash. The stunts and crashes are a real thrill. Great value and great replay, hours and hours of fun. Only negative is that the cars handling seem floating and hard to control. No matter what vehicle you purchase or upgrades you apply, all the vehicles basicly feel the same with no clear distinction besides visual appeal. Also the AI cars seem to have very little problems loosing control as often you do. Besides that the game for the money is a must buy. It is loads of fun and a real hoot.

Bugs

Great game until the sound stops working and occasionally the game freezes when in meditation mode. I have not been able to find a fix for the sound I can play sometimes 5 minutes sometimes an hour before sound is lost. Only fix appears to be a restart. I would otherwise rate it much higher.

DOOM 3

A Great Game

Very well made and designed. I did encounter a glitch in one level where if you take a wrong turn, the level repeats itself complete with all the reanimated monsters you previous killed - a very odd glitch (Delta Lab 1). However, game play is done well, weapons are awesome, the rooms, hallways are incredibly detailed. I read where some people felt game play was predictable, but if the monsters are hidden, waiting for you, they have to hide somewhere. I did not find it overly predictable. Throwing genades in places where I thought monsters would be hiding yielded little results - its not that predictable. Scary in places, where things jump out at you in places where you figured you were safe. Simply a great game.

Difficult

I find it difficult to get pass day three. When in combat so called experienced pilots die first makes it difficult to advance.

Masters of the World - Geopolitical Simulator 3
 –

Great idea, but still a work in progress

The idea and magnitude of the game is amazing but it is still not ready, a lot of crashes and a slow game engine. Patch won't install properly, plus a few playability mistakes around it. Even ortographical errors for god's sake.

Not expensive, mildly entertaining

Even the Easy level is pretty challenging, but it can get frustrating to replay the same section of track over and over with just a touchpad to control the ball on a narrow track.

I wanted to love this game, BUT . . .

It is simply not ready to be sold to the Mac community, not for $50, not for any price. On start up there is a prompt for a patch, but when you try to download it, there is nothing there. To minimize the effect of the frequent crashing, I tried saving the game every few minutes (a process that takes several minutes), but I was spending more time saving than playing the game. I turned the graphics to low, but that didn't help. I suggest that this game be withdrawn and money refunded until the game is made playable. It present it is not.

Patch (5.18) doesnt work/Game constantly crashing

Crashes when any video is played. The only way to play is to set video options to low and frequently save the game. Very tedious and very expensive for something that doesn't work. Don't purchase until this problem is resolved.

The Night of the Rabbit
 –

Mostly positive!

This game provides many hours of play, there are many very different scenes and characters and a genuinely interesting story of a boy who has a magician's mission thrust upon him. The puzzles range from obvious to so-nonintuitive-as-to-be-nearly-impossible. It has no replay value since the evolution of the game is linear but it gives you your money's worth and I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Pros:
- Well-drawn
- Huge and clever inventory
- Interesting characters
- Challenging puzzles
- Many hours of play

Cons:
- Some of the dialogues are frequently repeated and become tiresome, especially if you are hunting for an elusive clue and re-interview certain characters
- Main character's movements are often plodding and annoyingly slow (though a shortcut feature appears eventually which helpd quite a bit)
- A few puzzles are extremely contrived

DOOM 3
 –

Surprised it runs on my MBP

I recall back when I first played this, it was stressing my computer so bad. I had to reduce effects and struggle to enjoy it. Then I try it out recently on my LAPTOP, and it runs just fine, looks great, fluid. Amazing how times change. Anyhow, the game itself is decent enough to play. It has terrible AI and predictable situations. Enter room, monster flies out of nowhere and always knows where you are. Kill. Enter next room, ditto. But hey, it has great visuals and other interesting bits.

Eh... needs optimizing

Interesting game, could be more enjoyable if it didn't crawl in spurts on my Mac. It goes along real smooth, then just starts going so slow and choppy. Bad optimizations. If you can look beyond that, then this game will be enough of a delight.
