Before Purchase Review...

I just looked at the video but I will buy this game because it looked that hot! I may give another review but for now Im just going to leave for when I purchase it. But I like what I see... The lighting and reflexions are so spot on...

Decent game, but...

I'm a big fan of open-world racing games and Driver: SF really delivers in this area. It's a huge city, it's a lot of fun to drive around and do the missions. The ability to just jump into any car on the road is a really neat addition and just enhances the fun.

However, there is a huge drawback: you cannot use a controller (such as the Xbox 360 controller) to play the game. Since I don't have a steering wheel, I couldn't check if that is supported, but I guess it wouldn't be.

If you don't mind playing using the keyboard, then you'll most likely get some good entertainment value for your $19.99. For me, however, this means that I only played it for 3-4 hours and now haven't played it in weeks.

Waste of money. Unending dialogue. No wonder there's no demo. I won't be fooled again.

Classic Style! Brings back Memories of Point and Click Adventure Gaming

If you don't know who Sierra and LucasArts are or what got them started, Due to being born in the 90's or not having a PC. It was classic point and click adventure games like this one! If I didn't know this was a tribute to the golden age of adventure gaming i'd think this came directly from it. Collecting inventory, creating little inventions and pin pointing when and where to use everything you gather. THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A PIXELED LOOK as to take back the veteran adventure gamers to a time when Indiana Jones FOA, Day of The Tentacle, Kings Quest, and more were top of the shelf, and sooo much fun...!! Yes this game even captures the humor and time displaced background objects of Monkey Island. Very entertaining for people who remember the days of true point and click adventure before these silly hidden object games. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's episode based and I don't like having to wait for episodes, especially not for this unless its a sequel. But all in all I will definitely be grabbing episode 2..

Not worth the 10 bucks!

It's about a 1/10th of a game. Bad graphics and about an hour at best of game play.

The 39 Steps
 –

Not a puzzle or adventure game

This is not a game at all but a kind of interactive cartoon adaptation of Buchan's book; it's quite well done but there aren't actual puzzles to solve, just fixed steps to take to advance the story. If you wish to be entertained by Buchan's story and participate in it very slightly, you will enjoy this; if you are looking for a challenge or a diverting puzzle, stay away.

Poorly done

I have to agree with Captain Skurvy - not a fun game at all. It reminds me of Amerzone, a game that may have been OK on PC but that makes no sense in its Mac version. The only way I could finish it was with a walkthrough written for PC, and it is clear that the Mac version is a really bad copy. On the one hand, you know exactly where to click because there is a gear or hand icon on it; on the other, even knowing what needs clicking, the way things fit together is illogical. So to reiterate: don't waste your time and money!

An extremely worthwhile experience !

Its new and fantastically engaging. As faithful to the book as it is possible to be and has a wonderful pace to it. The tone of the writing is beautifully brought forward through the illustration and it feels like the novel should. It is a casual experience and I wouldn't call it a game, it is a strong narrative lead experience that brings a page of written words to life in a smooth easy to use and atmospheric fashion.

Give it a try, worth the investment !

I used to really like this game when I played it on 10.6.8. Since I upgraded to 10.8 it always crashes my iMac. All my other OSX games such as Borderlands still work fine
