Great Game, but Warning

Turn based combat stratedgy may sound boring, but this game makes it work. Be warned this game is very deep and even more addicting.

Story kept me interested to the end

Well done, good story line, fun to play. only complaint is that there are too many hidden object scenes. more puzzles nstead would have been better.

Deeply Unintersting

With Paradox on the label, I figured this game would be up there with Hearts of Iron 3. Or maybe just Heart of Iron 2.

Instead what we get is something with less going for it than paying Win 3.1 Solitaire.

You'll spend most of your time clicking little, uninformative messages to go away. About the best thing I can say is that it loads very quickly.

Xbox 360 controller will not sprint forward on rage

The forward sprint will not work on xbox360 controller unless you carefully move left thumb stick slowly. If you move thumb stick too fast you will go in reverse. Its very frustrating when playing like this!

Driver San Francisco Deluxe Edition
 –

Amazing

I played Driver 3 on the Playstation several years back and loved the Istanbul and Nice challenges. I was stoked when I saw Driver for the Mac available. I have the 2 GTA games from the Macstore obviously, but wondered if there were any others to match this driving game. Can you get any of the other Driver games on the mac? - now that would be the best option. Driver San Francisco is absolutely amazing and I have been playing video games for almost 30 years, so I know what's good!!!! If you like driving games and basic fun, then this is just the ticket.... ciao

Nancy Drew: Ghost of Thornton Hall
 –

Excellent

Like most of the Nancy Drew games, this one is very well made and lots of fun. The story is complicated but clever, the scenes and puzzles carefully done and challenging, and you have a choice of difficulty levels. The game is not super-long - maybe 4-5 hours - and has little replay value, which are its main defects, but I really enjoyed it (one reason it was over so quickly - I played it for several hours at a stretch!).

Sid Meier's Pirates!
 –

Not bad

This has some replay value because there are several variables you can choose from - your country of origin, the period in history, your particular skill - and each component of the game is prety entertaining. However, once you have done each of them - engaged in a sea battle, traded with a merchant, danced with a governor's daughter, and engaged in a sword fight with enemy captains, the rest of the game and all future replays are a permutation of those basic events. The difficulty does increase but interest trails off and disappears. However, for the price, it is good for quite a few hours of diversion.

Druid Kingdom
 –

Meh!

If you liked the 'My Kingdom for the Princess' games, you'll find the graphics in this one even better. I would have liked to give this game a better rating, but there are some real problems with it that I believe the developer should fix.

For example, they have characters pop up in the middle of a level, and while you're trying to run around as quickly as you can to get everything done, the developer sees no problem with having these annoying speech bubbles pop right up over the areas you want to go to, so that you can't get there until their pointless yammering is over with, killing precious time.

Also, you're not told to be sparing with spending your points you gain, which you will need to use to open further levels along the way. Don't do what I did the first time out and spend all your points before you get to a higher level. Otherwise you've got to play and play and play and play....the first levels you've already done, just to get enough points to open the next levels. A real waste of time. If you do happen to do that, just do what I did and erase your profile and start over which is a LOT faster.

Overall, I think the developer made a couple of huge blunders with this game. Too bad, as their My Kingdom for the Princess were so good.

This game keeps crashing when I try to load a game. Apple needs to fix this immediately. If this was fixed I'd give the game 4 stars.

Slow and dull

Super slow and choppy (on a Macbook Air), repetitive dialogue and uninteresting puzzles. Not worth the price, even on sale.

Unity of Command
 –

Panzer General it isn't

If you are looking for a turn based world war two strategy game with hexagons like you used to play...keep looking. This game only looks like what you want, it doesn't play like it. Very limited scope, limited map size and little to no customization.

I had fun for about a day and then I forgot all about this game. I gave it 3 stars because it is a smooth well thought out game, but it deserves 2 stars because it has the depth of video game pinball. You start each scenario with a tiny map and troops already deployed. Now you get to attack, thats it. Next scenario, small map, pre deployed units, with little to no customization. I'm sure someone can find all the tactical glory they are looking for here, for a day or two. In the end a nice polished game that lacks depth, not worth the price.

Knights and Merchants: The Shattered Kingdom
 –

Oldy but Goody

I was surprised by this game, the graphics are dated but the premise is rock solid. I was even addicted for a short time. The dynamic economy and scenarios are challenging and fun. The only issue I found is the fighting is a bit lack luster. I took off one star because the battles are disappointing, even for an older game.
