Beware, not a recent game

Be aware that this game is not at all a recent release, it initially came out out in the year 2000 and could run on a 150Mhz Pentium. The screenshots displayed are misleading, as the in game graphics do not at all abide by modern standards (as the 256MB Graphics card requirement would have you believe).

As for the game itself, after the disappointment of realising i spent 15mins trying to play it but it just proved a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I do like retrogaming, but this one was probably not a hit in the early noughties, and certainly won't be one today. there are much better indiegames out there that deserve your 10 Dollars

Terriffic!

Love this game. Wish their were more like this. Not just a hack and slash type game, but decisions that effect the outcome and the player directly. The story line is great with many surprises. This is absolutely my favorite. Characters are great, voice over is done well. I love the choices you have. You really can control much. Love it!

Buggy

My mac is very stable and I rarely have system crashes. This game however crashes at least once every 20 minutes and I haven't even reached the villiage stage yet. The game was more stable on my PC.

Waited for this for a long, long time

I waited for this to be released for Intel macs for years, and now it's finally happened. While the game is pretty good on its own, I really hope they also port Capitalism Lab, the newly released expansion to Capitalism 2 for Windows. It makes the whole game much more in-depth and intricate, thus enhancing all the things I like about the vanilla version.

Turning a profit can be tricky. But once you figure out how to do certain things in the game (the tutorial isn't that great), you're fine. Once I figured out how to turn a profit, I was worried it'd become too easy. A few Game years later, however, I saw that it's difficult to maintain profitability while at the same time growing your company. You decide to branch out into another area, and boom! You're suddenly losing money each month because it costs so much to produce the new good and sales aren't great.

I wish managing the prices and store layouts were easier. Every time you open a store and pick which goods to sell, you need to manually change the price of each good (otherwise you're likely not to sell much at all, since the default prices are usually above the market average price). I'm not sure if this is addressed in Capitalism Lab. If it is, I'd be much happier with the game.

This is a very detailed sim, not for those uninterested in medium to high levels of realism. Actually, if there's any area I'd improve first, it'd be the realism: the more the better. But this seems to be addressed in Capitalism Lab, which gives me all the more reason to hope for a port.

Crashing and telling I am in Demo mode

I tried to start the game 4 times - it crashes, when I reach tutorial lvl 3, telling me, how many minutes I have left to play in demo mode???. Fail - I actually bought the game :-( When I return to game, I have to start over again - it does not remember my previous lvl's.

Anuman syndrome

Not even three hours of play, not very challenging, and has the common Anuman failing of looking like a dumbed-down made-for-PC game with glaring indicators of what to click and where to go, lots of dead areas, and strange gaps in the storyline. Not worth even $7.

Bugs you can't squash

More of the same gameplay from the first two enjoyable chapters but with a serious bug that makes some quests impossible to complete usually because some item is missing, if it is a story quest then the game can't be completed, a waste of many hours.
