Good graphics, a bit boring

I liked the graphics, but the phases are pretty repetitives and it becomes boring very soon.

More the same, but still worthy

I love these kind of time-management games, not so difficult, not so easy and all over beautifully designed.

Farm Game

I am a sucker for all farm games. I can't help but give this game a positive review! It was a bit too short for me, which is why it received only 4 stars.

Virtual Villagers with a Twist

This game is one of my favorites. I am a sucker for anything that requires me to build a village for its habitants. This is a lot like virtual villagers, only this is with aliens (I think!). Worth a try for sure.

Fun to kill time

This game is fun. There's no real strategy to it, it's a matter of clicking speed an accuracy, but I found it was a nice way to pass the time without needing to put much brain power behind it :)

Farmington Tales

Fun Search and Find Meets Farmer

This was a fun twist on the traditional Fearch & Find Game, as well as Farming game. Personally, I wish it had a little less Search & Find, and more Farming, so that's why I gave it 4 stars. However, if you a more fond of the Search & Find games, you will likely find it a 5-star game!

GRID™

Great fun for almost everyone

GRID is definately an arcade racing game rather than a full blown simulation but it has enough variety with the handling of the cars to still make it fun for sim enthusiasts to spend sometime with whilst having all the driver aids to allow everyone to jump in and have a go.

Performance is excellent on a wide range of Macs and the number of tracks and cars available as well as the race team career means you will certainly get many hours without getting bored. Highly recommended!

My First Trainz Set

LEGO The Lord of the Rings

So much fun!

This is the first Lego game I've tried (well, other than the iOS version of Lego Harry Potter, which has a very different style of gameplay), and I love it! I've completed the story, but there is still so much to do in freeplay mode (I believe the "completion" - in terms getting all the collectibles - was only at something like 20% when I finished the story). My favourite part is that when you're not in a chapter, you can literally walk from the Shire all the way to Mordor and back (if you don't get lost or distracted on the way). The world is huge and incredibly detailed, and I could probably spend hours just wondering around admiring the scenery. My only qualm is that - while figuring out how to progress or find objects to complete quests can be a challenge - completing the story is sometimes too easy in the sense that there doesn't seem to be a way that I've found that you can actually "lose" and have to go back to the last checkpoint (possibly unless you've died so many times you managed to lose ALL your studs but I feel like you'd have to be extraordinarily bad for that to happen). But really, that's a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. The game is fun and can keep my attention for hours (not many games can claim that). I highly recommend it for any Lord of the Rings fan.

Rome: Total War™ - Gold Edition
 –

Rome Total War Gold Edition

The best game I've ever had. I played this game continuously last Dec. I almost collapsed from exhaustion because I played it straight for more than twelve hours. It is that addictive. I could have carried on if the game had not finally stopped due to continuous play. There were so many options to conduct the campaign mode. You could become an armchair general playing this game. It is not just about battles but also about governing wisely which will enable you to become the Roman emperor. Plus when fighting battles especially the big and decisive ones you could get the feel of how confusing a real battle is.

The Barbarian Invasion expansion is just as immersive as the original game is. Playing it even in the easiest mode requires a lot of patience and skills so that the result is immensely satisfying. This is not the game for the faint of heart who easily gets discouraged after meeting a lot of defeats. This is the most challenging game indeed that I ever played.

Annoying

That's, well... really the only word that comes to mind. Annoying. The noises that the character makes became irritating within about ten seconds, the animations when you start/end a level and when you die are extremely long in comparison to most platformers (or any game, really), the controls when you have the speed powerup (which is necessary in order to complete some levels) are too touchy and make it really easy to fly off the edge of a platform, and all the progress in a level is reset when you die. You don't just go back to the beginning of the level, you have to restart it completely and go collect all the seeds or other objects all over again. The last point is kind of a minor one - I'm equally annoyed by games where there is too little insentive to not die - but combine it with that necessary evil of the speed power up and... well, let's just say I didn't even make it past the fourth level. There's definitely some potential here, but as it is, it's just way too annoying.

Door Kickers
 –

Constantly Evolving & Insanely Addicting

I purchased this game on steam when it was in Alpha 7 and I played through the entire game until I got 3 stars on every level. It takes an IMMENSE amount of strategizing. You will fail a thousand times, which makes completing the level insanely rewarding, especially with the newly implemented replay system.

A few of my friends saw me playing the game and purchased it for themselves. They had a much harder time on several levels and got absurdly frustrated at the game. This didn't stop them from playing for another 4 hours to complete that one level. I must warn you not to take this with a grain of salt. Doorkickers is extremely addicting. You will seemingly teleport into the future and wonder what happened to the last several hours.

Every update makes the game better and better. I saw some footage from Alpha 6 and the game took leaps and bounds forward in the Alpha 7 update. It's constantly evolving with new and refined features. As I write this, the game is in Alpha 8. I highly recommend this game.
