  1. Chinese Emperor
    by amunra, Germany - Nov 20th 2018

I like the expansion to the east and interactions with the Chinese Emperor. It adds several new items for your characters treasure chest. But the expansions did not go far enough and the map expansion is to small IMO but I can understand lower rated computer could not handle that.

  3. Interesting DLC if you play on the far east
by João Costa, Portugal - Oct 7th 2018

THere are 3 interesting features in this DLC:
    1) china - you can interact with it in the east part of the map; it is interesting trying to make sure china doesn't see you ripe for conquering at the same time trying to gain soemthing from thr relationship
    2) The new artifacts and portraits increase the immersion a lot. When playing as a western catholic power and during your crusade you steal some sort of artifact it makes you wonder how far it has travveled; it makes the world feel more alive.
    3) The new casus belli are very useful to the early- mid game

IMO it is a DLC worth buying if you play at the far east like tibet and india. If you only play with western powers this DLC does very little that will affect you.

  6. Adds a lot of interesting mechanics
    by Paul S.24, USA - May 23rd 2018

The interactions with china are really fun and interesting. The new religion and cultures in the Tibetan region are neat, Taoist is really cool. The new CBs make the early game a little faster and I actually quite like how they become not viable as you get larger.

  7. China
    by Filipe F.3, Portugal - May 18th 2018

The focus with this one is china, but you don't see china and can't play china. At least you know it's there. And the new casus belli are really good.

  8. Interesting DLC if you play near China
by Miltiadis Apostolidis, Greece - May 16th 2018

This DLC is quite interesting from a historical perspective but its main problem is the fact that the Chinese presence is mainly noticable in the regions near China (India and the far East).

  9. Minor expansion
    by anabwana, Finland - May 9th 2018

Compared to the free patch, the content provided by this expansion (mainly interaction with China through a window) is not much and not necessarily worth the price.

  10. Artifacts & Cathay
    by Plaps, USA - Feb 26th 2018

I'm ambivalent for the most part on the addition of China. The new artifact system though makes this DLC worth it.

  11. A situational expansion for CKII
by Andres Sanchez, Spain - Feb 15th 2018

It's not a bad adittion to CKII but like some others only useful playing certain characters. Or, like this time, a certain location: the "far" East of the map. You've got now a powerful neighbour (Chinese Emperor), with its own agenda -more expansionist or isolationist- which, in addition to its internal/external status, will decide how you can interact with China and more importantly... How China will interact with you! (Invasions won't be easy to defeat).

Not as good as some of the last CKII expansions, fine if you want to try something different, specially in addition to other ones like Horse Lords.

  12. Decent Expansion, somewhat expensive though
by Swampos, Czech Republic - Feb 11th 2018

I like the new casus belli this adds and the new region and mechanics. I like the fact that it contains the Content pack which was previously separate. But I feel like $15 is a little bit too much for it.

  13. Absentee Landlord
    by klcln, France - Dec 21st 2017

This DLC doesn't bring in China but makes it into an absentee landlord. If you're playing in the East you will have to go out of your way to please and cajole the Emperor but if you're anywhere in the West it will be business as usual.

  14. Good choice if you like to play in Asia
    by Merovingio, Spain - Dec 9th 2017

A great purchase if you like to play in India or central Asia. However, if you play as a european you won't find nothing new since Europe is too far to interact with China.

  15. China... CHINA. China
    by LoremasterNick, Finland - Nov 16th 2017

I can play as the Han Chinese. That's all I wanted.
