This expansion is focused on the muslim region of the game. As such, i adds more depth to the islamic religion, the governments of this area and allows more options with your traders. The benefit for outside regions is small - but since this area is one ofe the more interesting ones to play, I really like it.

The content pack adds additional units and music. I tend to see them as additional support for Paradox, but if you are short on money, you would get the gameplay additions with the extension only.

This expansion adds some minor content to this game, like fleet missions. If you play with colonies, the new fleet mission are really helpful, and the quest for ElDorado has some nice events. You should also try playing as the Aztecs, which are a focus in this expansion. This expansion might not be necessary for everyone - but it adds useful bits an pieces, even if you don't play as colonializing nation or in the mexican region. Well worth the 5 bucks in my opinion.
