Complex gameplay
I played an older version of Cilivization before, years ago. This one is even more complex and time consuming but has also better graphics.

Within ten minutes of playing the game shuts down. I have the latest software and a whopper, brand new Mac Studio M2 Ultra, with 128 GB of RAM, running Sonoma 14.5
Your game is not the only one I've had issues with, but your's in particular is driving me nuts.
I'm not a big 4x game type of guy, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into my first Civ game.
At first, things seem quite overcomplicated, but the game offers a great (albeit extremely long) tutorial to get you going. From there, there's a lot of trial and error, but also a lot of satisfaction to learning the ins and outs of the game.
I can't say how it compares to other 4x games with my lack of context, but as an intro to the genre, it's certainly a welcoming experience.
