This is one of my favourite games of all time and I was pretty excited to see it back after one of the Mac OS releases broke the old port. I bought the game and ran it on a top of the line mid 2014 MBP and sadly the optimisation is very poor. The game will tun on 45-60 FPS for a while and it will randomly drop to 15-25 FPS and stay there for a long time (obviously it's not playable at this framerate). I tried lowering all of the settings to their bare minimum while running the game at a very low resolution to no avail - that seemed to have very little effect.

I really can't recommend the game (even to people with new top of the line macs) until this issue is fixed and sadly, I very much doubt that they will update it.

Such a shame.
