Fish Tycoon is a fish breeding sim game where you breed and care for exotic fish in a true real-time virtual aquarium.

The object of this tycoon game is to discover the 7 MAGIC FISH of ISOLA and solve the genetic puzzle. You start with a small selection of fish, some money and a tank. You must breed your fish, care for them, help them grow, and cure them if they get sick. Along the way you can buy supplies, medicine and special chemicals; you can research technologies or invest in advertisement. All of this will be financed by selling exotic hybrids in your shop.

The game runs in TRUE REAL-TIME, so that if your computer is turned off or you exit the game, hours later small fish will have grown larger and new surprises await you.

   An All Time Fave

   Back when I had a Palm Tungsten T3, I played this game religiously. It was one of the best simulators; bar none. I hadnt thought about this game any more after having won everything- so seeing it here sure breaks back a lot of fun memories.
   
   I don't know how it plays on the Mac so that means I'll have to either buy it or play with the demo.

   Love it!

   I'm not a seasoned sim gamer, so this is great for people like me. I'm actually addicted to it, as I'm a fish lover at heart. I keep it up when I'm busy and just check it now and then to see what I've produced or sold. I agree that it's a bit frustrating that you can't stock both fungus and ick meds at the same time, but they aren't very expensive once you really get going. (a free upgrade or patch would be nice!) This game is great for all ages. Not everyone wants to play online, or get into really complicated sims, so I highly recommend this game.

   As Relaxing as the Real Thing

   As actual "brick and mortar" fish tank folks, we love Fish Tycoon. The Realtime aspect is great. You don't so much "play" this game as set it up and check in occasionally. Variable gamespeed insures that you won't kill off your fish, and the quest for the 7 magic species keep the intrigue going. That said, the inventory system needs tweaking--if you've already some ich medicine in your inventory, you can't buy fungus medicine without its displacing the ich medicine you already own, and vice versa--that's odd--why can't you stock both medicines at once? This sim is great for kids, and for adults who don't want to (or don't have the time to) deal with the minutia of more complicated fish sim games.
