  1. Basically Mandatory
    by Tomas K.13, Lithuania - Dec 20th 2018

Out of all of HOI4's DLC's, this one is, IMO, the most important one. Waking the Tiger adds really cool new focus trees and QoL changes, but this DLC fleshes out the Commonwealth and makes puppets not only viable, but a better option than annexing in most cases.

I wasn't super interested in the commonwealth focuses, but the new puppet systems really do change some things. Especially the manpower option if you are playing a smaller country.

  3. Worth it on sale...
    by Torvanyr, Denmark - Apr 21st 2018

The added flavor for the Commonwealth nations is essential for any HOI4 fan, however I would suggest picking this DLC up at a discount if possible as it feels marginally overpriced at $15. Definitely still worth getting, though, so don't ignore it!

  5. Weak
    by J O.3, Estonia - Mar 26th 2018

Quite boring focus trees and mechanics that should have been part of the free patch.

  6. Get on sale
    by Kaiser-e-rum, USA - Feb 22nd 2018

Features locked behind a paywall again with the DLC content being pointless fluff while the base game and AI especially still have significant issues. Wait for a big sale or pass.

  7. Little expensive, but good expansion for UK/Commonwealth
    by Air H., Latvia - Dec 24th 2017

This expansion adds focus trees to almost all of the Commonwealth countries and adds a new autonomy system, making playing as them fun: and managing puppets as UK is also pretty important. You also get the spearhead battleplan command and the expanded battle log- which are nice. I'd recommend getting this on sale.

  8. Focus on boring nations
    by Vincent I., Sweden - Oct 3rd 2017

    - Focus trees for nations that didn't actually do much in the WWII effort apart from sending troops
    + New music

  9. Slightly dissapointing.
    by anabwana, Finland - Sep 1st 2017

Nothing wrong with the content itself but new focus trees and such is just too little when the game still feels like it's lacking some fundamental funcionality.

  10. Dominions
    by dorugradinaru, Romania - Jan 22nd 2017

The dominions are great. I like so much to play with a colony and become indepepdent with the autonomy system.

  11. Ok add on, but waiting for more
by Karl F. Davie Burgdorf, USA - Dec 25th 2016

Alright, let's put it on the table. The HOI games are some of the best and most complex strategic war games. Normally, the DLCs are a fantastic edition and make them even better. With this new add on, I have to say I'm underwhelmed. It is mostly things that are in the "fixes" category that should have been in the original game. Much of the new content is covewred by free mods on Steam.
That said, it still adds to the game. The price should be lower for what it does, however.
