In realtà, la trama è solo un pretesto per catapultarci in un classico vortice di scene con oggetti nascosti, mini-giochi e puzzle che rappresentano l'essenza di questo game. Non aspettatevi quindi originalità e tensione narrativa: principalmente la protagonista deve usare i portali magici presenti nelle stanze di un albergo per muoversi tra varie epoche, risolvere enigmi e trovare i manufatti indispensabili per risolvere il caso. Le immagini, le scene cinematiche e le musiche sono comunque di buona qualità. Dal punto di vista del gameplay le scene con oggetti nascosti sono molto piene e a volte con oggetti in posizioni illogiche, mentre mini-giochi e puzzle sono quasi sempre facili. Inoltre, in numerose "pop screens" non è presente alcuna informazione che permetta di capire quale azione occorre compiere, e la mappa è decisamente rudimentale e di scarso aiuto.
