  1. Pretty Fun
    by kyrq, USA - Mar 30th 2015

The game is quite enjoyable but also pretty mindless; you pretty much click buttons repeatedly while keeping track of you energy and mana levels. As a result, it might not be fun for people looking for something more challenging or diverse.

Graphics and music are great, particularly the music. It created just the right atmosphere to play the game in. The storyline was very simple, and the ending portions could have been better. Everything felt sort of rushed, and some early plot points never get covered (which is sad, because it would have made for a more intersting story line).

It did bug out on me once when I cast a spell but the game kind of/sort of registered it. The spell didn't do anything, but when I tried again, it wouldn't let me cast the spell again because I apparently didn't need to. Apparently, there are some other players who have had the same problem when I looked for a solution online. There was pretty much nothing I could do and I wasn't too terribly far into the story, so I ended up creating another character. I was able to play through completely with this character.

I bought this game on sale which was a great deal, but overall, I wouldn't say this game is worth the $9 that it normally costs.

  2. So different!

This game was like dungeons and dragons meets underworld. Really addicting, not too challenging, and enjoyable.

  3. Room for improvement in several areas...
    by LunaNik, USA - Nov 18th 2014

While this game has some of the best graphics and music in the TM/Strategy genre, it suffers from a thin story line, clumsy and slow game mechanics, and repetitive gameplay.

The graphics—both map and scene—are detailed and dimensional. The overall look is medieval, but the characters are vampire goth. There's not much animation except for a looped background character in each scene. The NPCs with whom you interact (and who give you your quests) don't move or lip synch.

You have two energy levels to keep up—vigor and mana—plus money to earn. Vigor and mana are increased either by eating or resting. Money is earned through a series of jobs which you can upgrade for higher wages as you learn new skills. You're also awarded a choice of rewards at the completion of each quest.

The quests include finding items on the map, hidden object scenes, running errands for the populace, learning new skills and spells, and upgrading your clothing, steed, and home. This entails traveling from place to place on the map, one drawback to this game, as this travel time interrupts the flow of gameplay.

This has potential to be an enthralling game, but needs improvement in the areas of game mechanics and gameplay, in my opinion.

  4. Wish they had more

Like this but more choices and alittle more complicated.

  5. Tedious in the long run
    by Moo, France - Aug 23rd 2014

Agree with the previous reviewer, not enough to keep you engaged overall with some annoying details that just add to the general feeling of boredom and tedium. Being unable to rapidly scroll through the item lists is not a big deal at the beginning when your options are limited due to being new and having to work at getting anywhere. But once the item/option lists start becoming very long, clicking in order to scroll down just gets annoying. As does the constant running back and forth between buildings, the repetitiveness and sameness of the tasks and the poor grammar/spelling in the speech menus and character scripts. Download the demo, I think the hour you get is more than long enough to play!

  6. Not worth buying...
    by GameGamer020, Australia - Jun 4th 2014

In a nutshell, it's all about going back and forth from building to building completing missions for the local vampires. You can eventually buy new items for your room (like candlesticks and pets), learn new potions and spells, and work your way up the work ladder.

For me, the game was fun for about 30 minutes. Then it became fairly monotonous. Not very engaging at all really. I was also disappointed to see hidden-object puzzles every now and then during this game. I thought that was a fairly lazy way to 'pad out' the game to create a bit of variety. Something new and fresh (away from the hidden-object theme) would have been great.
Either way, it's a good lunch break time-waster, but I wouldn't buy it.
