  1. Mixed Feelings
    by green_knight, United Kingdom - Apr 23rd 2016

Short version: I played all the way through, and I'm glad I did, but I'm not sure I want to play it again.

Long version: Very much a 'see for yourself' game. The graphics are unique, the gameplay is interesting, the enemies are innovative. I love the difficulty system (die or don't die, and unlock the ability to add selective challenges [enemies get stronger/faster/vindictive etc] depending on how you feel. The story is - by design - very linear, and gameplay with mouse and keyboard becomes very demanding in places. (hear sound, dodge, fire - only often the sound for one particular enemy plays only AFTER it attacks you, and healing leaves you no time to dodge. Those levels were... not fun.) And I really resented that you unlock new weapons/skills by finding them in the game... which means you need to play the rest of the level with the new weapon instead of your super-upgraded favourite one.

This is very much not a game for newcomers to the genre.

  2. Beautiful game.
by Emily Brazel, USA - Feb 4th 2016

I'd love to put "beautiful storyline" or "beautiful graphics" or "beautiful soundtrack" as the title, but I can't decide which one is the best.
The storyline is compelling and interesting, and I was sucked in by the time I got through the introduction of the game.
The narration adds depth to the story, and the music matches the mood no matter where you are in the game. I'll even just go on YouTube and listen to the music when I'm doing other things.
I can't put into words how much I love this game. The plot of Bastion leads you to a decision and no matter which way I choose, my heart breaks.
Bastion is just a beautiful story of discovery, betrayal, adventure, and finding friends in a crumbling world.

  4. Beautiful game full of action.
    by Nickroth, USA - Apr 25th 2015

This game is beautiful, from the graphics to the music and narration. I'm not much for action games but that aside, i did pay for this game and it was worth it. It's fast paced, good writing, gorgeous and fun.

  8. One of the best
    by Kimbro, USA - Jul 29th 2014

I absolutely love this game. It's fun to play, has a compelling story, and is subtley touching in parts. The narration is superb and even funny at times, and the artwork is colorful and dreamy.
I usually don't play shooting games, but this game is fun and there is no gore. It really is an awesome game. I cannot wait until Supergiant releases their next game, Transistor, for Mac.

  9. Atmospheric, Strategic Action Game
by Daniel Steven Oles, USA - Feb 19th 2014

The pallet is diverse, the narrator is one of the best in any game I've played, the controls are tight and the music is fantastic. If I could ask for anything it would be a little more skill on my part because this game does not mess around difficulty wise, but its constantly reinventing the challenge and introducing more and more of the unique and surprisingly somber storyline. Highly recommended!

  10. Loved it!
    by Smokler, USA - Feb 7th 2014

For a game that's really about hitting things with a large hammer, amazing. Sublime artwork, beautiful music, a concept that goes places instead of acting as a laundry line to hang battle sequences on.

  11. Bastian
    by Alecat, Canada - Jan 30th 2014

I have wanted to play this game for a long time and now that I am on a Mac it was my first purchase and I really like it but it is diagonal and being new to the Mac ( I had PC before ) I am learning how to control it I think it is one of the most colorful games I have seen and I love the narration from the game helper. All in all I love it so far. Time to back and play it some more.
