Description

Two stories, two main characters, one epic experience: in Memoria, players travel through different time periods, while following two distinct protagonists: Sadja, a southern princess who wants to be a war hero, and Geron, a bird catcher who wants to lift a curse from his girlfriend. The game combines point & click gameplay with unique magic skills.

Sadja, a Southern princess, has an unstoppable desire to become the greatest hero in history – by joining and succeeding in the biggest war Aventuria has ever seen: The war of the Mages, fought in the middle of an uninhabitable desert.

Bird catcher Geron lives almost 450 years after the Great War. Geron’s eternal love, Nuri, has been turned into a crow by an evil curse. To give her back her human form, Geron needs the help of the mysterious merchant Fahi, who has magical powers. But Fahi is only willing to help Geron if he agrees to solve a puzzle which Fahi has seen in his dreams. The quest for answers soon leads to a chain of events that connects both Sadja's and Geron's stories, threatening to turn the present into a grim reflection of a long forgotten past.

Memoria combines classic point & click adventure gameplay with the features of The Dark Eye, one of the most successful RPG universes known in the fantasy world. Point & click adventure game puzzles get a unique twist by adding magical features – and a wise, talking staff. Over eight chapters, players control both Sadja’s and Geron’s fates, involuntarily interacting with each other and bridging over 500 years of time. Each chapter in Memoria features opulent graphics, epic locations, a thrilling fantasy crime story and a unique puzzle design that differs from chapter to chapter.

  1. Was für ein Spiel!
    by Schulle, Germany - Dec 31st 2016

Regelmäßiges Speichern ist also Pflicht.

[In more than twenty years, I have played only a few games that have captured me as much as this.
The story has an enormous depth with many twists and a great credibility. The characters are profound, the dialogues elaborate.
The puzzles are nowhere unfair or randomly randomized, but are always solvable with logic. However, it is necessary to follow the dialogues as well as the history carefully. The rest can then be solved with a little reflection.
The drawings are good but not outstanding, but still create an intense play atmosphere, as well as the pleasant and unobtrusive background music.
All text and audio files are available in German.
The game has crashed with me several times. Regular storage is therefore mandatory.

  2. A good one
    by aalex71, France - Dec 27th 2015

I must confess that I didn't got the story until the middle of the game as is a little bit hard to follow all the characters but one you're in, you stay till the end.
If you liked the previous one, there is many references to it.The intuitive gameplay is also part of the pleasure. A nice experience

  3. Excellent game
    by ronaldo S. Ortiz, Philippines - Dec 27th 2015

The game story with its complex gameplay stopped me short of giving it a five star.I actually found myself stuck because of the difficulty of finding the right move.Nevertheless I still find it very compelling to play if only I can get the mood to play.

  4. Beautiful adventure
    by Hermit64, Spain - Jan 30th 2015

What we have here is a full-classic adventure whose plot is set in a fantasy world (I can't imagine nothing more classic). What makes it stand out in the crowd is its fine-crafting in every aspect. Graphics are a really joy to look at. Story is dense, mysterious and not at all pleasing (not like King's Quest). Writing is good, as is acting, with actors modulating expressively each word. The interface is also very good, comfortable and never-hindering. You play two different characters alternatively, leaping 450 years back and forth, as the plot develops. Puzzles, that are the core of any adventure, are here deep and imaginative: you'll have to use not only plain logic, but your imagination as well. In short, a very advisable piece of gaming (if you like this style of entertainment, that is).

  6. Huge
    by NorthernSpruce, Canada - Jun 21st 2014

This must require massive amounts of drive space - I simply can't get it to play on my MacBook Air, no matter how much space I clear up. It takes forever to download and won't run for me.

  7. One of the best ever
by Valentina Pagliai, USA - Jun 2nd 2014

I wish there were more adventure games like this one. It features absolutely beautiful graphics, an engaging storyline, and intelligent puzzles which are not too frustratingly hard to solve. This is the second on a series of two games, and I suggest you do the first game first, which would be "The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav." The two can stand alone but you would miss a lot of the character development if you start from this second one - and character development is a real plus in this game. I played this on a macbook air with OS Lion and did not meet any bugs.

  8. Great Game!
    by Caperica, USA - Oct 22nd 2013

I didnt think I would like the point and click thing, but this game is good. Very engaging storyline with superb voicing. The voice actors really made a compelling story better. The scenes were very pretty and I hated for it to end. Its a bit of surprise at the end. I wish they had the first to this story for Mac, but apparently its PC only. But it doesnt dimmish this sequel at all from what I have heard. Dont be afraid to buy. Its very enjoyable.

  9. Nice story line
    by Rhythm, Canada - Sep 15th 2013

Really liked playing this game. The puzzles are intuitive, logical and occasionally very challenging and all in all, Memoria is a well polished, well delivered game with a decent length and an interesting story.

  10. Beautiful game
by Jeff Almonte, Philippines - Sep 8th 2013

I didn't know what to expect but this point-and-click game deserves to be a classic. The player alternates between two parallel stories and is taken to the a fabulous ending. Riddles are not that hard but can be quite tricky. The hints are a big help though. I only encountered some kind of bug in Chapter 6 so I recommend saving at the beginning of that chapter. It seems to require a specific sequence but I won't spoil the story. Really nice one!
