All About Tower Offense vs. Tower Defense

Anomaly 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Anomaly Warzone Earth. Maintaining the core elements of the original, Anomaly 2 adds new features to the single-player campaign and finally puts your skills to a test in a completely unique experience: the dynamic tower defense vs. tower offense multiplayer mode!

In the years following the invasion of Earth in 2018, the planet is overrun by alien machines. Humankind is on the verge of extinction. Banded together in huge convoys, they search the frozen tundra for food and supplies. Since the war, the roles have been reversed: now our species seems to be the Anomaly on a machine-controlled planet. Your convoy, Commander, is called Yukon.
  • Anomaly 2 takes the RTS tower-offense concept from Anomaly Warzone Earth to a new level. The core elements of the original – tactical planning and the on-field Commander to support troops in combat – are spiced up by a number of important new features:
  • Morph your troops into war mechs to discover the new face of strategy: each unit has a different mech form with various abilities to help you overcome specific combat situations.
  • Engage in a multiplayer experience unique to Anomaly 2: tower defense vs. tower offense. Play as the towers and destroy the humans or lead the humans to annihilate the alien towers.
  • Fight across a post-apocalyptic world in a new single-player campaign that offers a more intense strategy experience than the acclaimed original.
  • Carve your own path to victory and create your ultimate battle squad. With over million tactical combinations to build your squad, your options in combat are nearly endless.
  • Dive into a beautifully rendered world, thanks to the team’s upgraded and improved visual engine.
  • Experience alternative endings dependent upon your approach to enemy machines in the campaign.

  1. Blast those turrets!

This is a simple solid game, really. The first Anomaly game was already good. This one makes it more interesting with morphing vehicles.

  2. 4.0/5.0 game. Multiplayer 0/5
    by daisyborat, USA - Nov 30th 2014

Graphics and design 8/10 ( I feel some of the towers are boring and they focused more on the convoy vehicles when making them look clean and cool

    Sounds 8/10
voice acting 9/10 other than a few childish sentences and the generic bs
    single player game lenght 8/10
Options/ controllability 8/10 You get to play things the way you want, lots of route, units, abilities, etc.

Really a great game, i paid less than 5.00 for it on sale and it was well worth it. I would say i would be happy all the way up to the 10-15 dollar range. Now if the multiplayer actually worked i would be happy up to 20.00 for this game. Its very fun, innovative, engaging, the movies, especially the initial movie just draw you in and excite you.

A few bugs here and there, like when you get to RIO theres grey blocks instead of pyramids, they also have a few grammatical errors where they say things present then past tense int he same sentence. And again, the multiplayer absolutely doesnt work, read up on it, not just me getting screwed.

Overall great game, super bummed the multiplayer doesnt work. Also, sort of oannoying that you get new units slowly as you go threw levels and then dont get to use the units later int he game very much.
-Also, one thing that is annoying is that often there is really to much going on, trying to morph units, heal, repair, use abilities, pick up supplies, etc, they need to keep it intense but my god, on normal mode there were many times i was annoyed because i literally just couldnt click fast enough. I knew what to do and how, just couldtn do it and lost units.

Id say buy it, hopefully on the next one they iron some of the kinks out and actually get the multiplayer working.

  3. Single player mode is too short.
    by CTK4, Japan - Sep 30th 2013

While this is a good tower offense game with cool graphics, single player mode has 14stages or so, and you can finish it less than 8hours.

I don't think this game worths 15bucks, just wait for sale.
