  1. Marvelous Streamlined Napolean Sim
by Daniel Steven Oles, USA - Nov 26th 2016

I'm impressed this works so well on my admittedly pretty simple Mac, but I'm not complaining! The campaign is a little simple but by no means bereft of content and the real meat of the game is the intense and strategic battles. Just firing up a bot battle is exciting and unpredictable in the right ways. Ship combat is some of the best I've ever played allowing you to manuver and change shot types and board vessels. The animation has it's quirks (all Total Wars do) but if you want a fine simulation of controlling a turn of the centry battlefield or want to follow the story of The Little Corporal, this is your game!

  3. Glossy
    by Rameses, Australia - Mar 27th 2014

Like a glossy magazine this game promises much but delivers little. Too much attention to graphics. The game play is poor in single mode with unit behaviours and performance lacking in historical accuracy. Controls are cumbersome.

  4. A lot of the same
    by daisyborat, USA - Mar 15th 2014

Its fun, and i enjoy it, but its just a lot of the same as the previos total war. Just new missions and new characters, nothing really improved nor modified, still some gheto graphics and a pain in the but trying to tell different troups appart. If you played the other totoal wars, not really worth it to me. Give it a try, see what you think.

(Excellent game that runs on almost any Mac with appropriate video settings. the gameplay is absorbent, the only complaint is there is no way to use cheats or trainers in the mac version, as happens in many games. not require steam. if they find it on sale is better.)

  6. Awesome game!
    by Patroller420, USA - Nov 12th 2013

This game is a great way to blow off some extra time. Battles are epic and realistic. I love how you can scroll the camera low to the enemy rifleman lines and watch the cannonballs that your shooting take out lines of men. Purely an epic Total War game! Recommend this buy for anyone.

The game will have to get several updates in order for the game to have multiplayer, like RTW, or "rome total war" the game had to get about 3 to 4 updates in-order to play multiplayer. so i hope this answers your question. the game is also a grate game with really…. no flaws, but if you havent played a stragety game befor then these kinda of games can be very difficult.

  9. A good game with a tiny flaw
by Wait Harbor, China - Jul 29th 2013

It was the first game I played in the total war series, and I think it is worth the money I paid. Although I have to admit, it is rather difficult to play as the tutorial contains more of history and basic maneuvers, I don't deny it is rather addictive.

Except for a flaw,or a bug-Why can't I play multiplayer mode online? My game only contains a local network multiplayer mode! IS it just me or is it a bug in this vision?

  10. Better than ETW in every way
by Joe Yang, Thailand - Jul 26th 2013

At first thought that NTW graphics was going to be probably the same as ETW, but it turns out better than ETW. NTW is more hardcore than ETW when set in the same hard difficulty and many aspects of the game had been improved drastically, making it more interesting to play, if u like ETW, then u will love this one

  11. Great Improvement
by Geoffrey Smith, Canada - Jul 11th 2013

You no longer have to worry about missionaries spreading religion, it has been removed from the game. Only europe is available in this version but there are more regions than empire, so still making a fun campaign to play. Trade, diplomacy, and research has been simplified or improved.
