  1. XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Elite Edition
    by TBird69, USA - Sep 26th 2013

What can I say about this game. This, in my opinion, game is so good, awesome, outstanding, addicting, it's the best game I've ever seen.

Plays great on iMac, no problems at all. Need to read the manual. For me I always need to read the manual. I like hard games. XCOM is on my list as the best game I've ever played, and I haven't even gone far into the game. :-)

  4. Great Game, but Warning
by Michael Gagnon, USA - Jun 25th 2013

Turn based combat stratedgy may sound boring, but this game makes it work. Be warned this game is very deep and even more addicting.

  5. Great!
by Scott Henderson, USA - Jun 15th 2013

All reports of this game being fun, addicting, involving and absorbing are true. I found the "Frequent/Intense Profanity or Crude Humor" description odd in the Information section as I did not experience any of that. I experienced a few glitches, but nothing worth avoiding buying the game: 1) in a few of the maps, the soldier's path was oddly circuitous (soldiers would run around a wall rather than through an open door in the same wall, for example), 2) navigating to the proper level within the game could get a little tedious and 3) once the display started flashing green, red and white for no particular reason (rotating the camera seemed to solve the problem). Again, these minor flaws are by no reason a valid point for not purchasing such a wonderful game that will keep you hooked for days. I can hardly wait to play it again.

I am running the game on a 30" iMac circa 2011 with 10.8.4

  6. This is a great game and is a must for all the genre's fans!
    by MacGamerHQ.com, - May 13th 2013

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is not for the faint of heart. You WILL get your ass handed to you time and time again, but this is all part of its charm. This is a must own for anyone who fancies themselves as a master strategist.

Take your time whilst playing this game and become immersed within this conflict between man and alien. Make this your experience by tailoring the game you to your play style. Good luck Commanders.

  7. Works Great in a MacBook Air!!
by Victor Bocaling, Philippines - May 6th 2013

XCOM works even in a 2010 MacBook Air! Although the video settings are set to low, it works & looks just fine. There is some stutter to the cut scenes but I can live with that as there is no (so far) stutter / lag in actual game play.

  8. E-x-e-ll-e-n-t!
by Sixth Praetorian, Switzerland - Apr 30th 2013

First thing that impressed me was attention to every little detail, from ammunition to menu design.

Congatulations 2K, after Civilization V, you reached again a top creating "a game to fall in love with". Keep going and bring us even more locations and landscapes in DLC!

  9. Finally a worthy remake!
    by Eikestrand, Norway - Apr 30th 2013

As a huge fan of the original X-COM: Terror from the deep by MicroProse from 1995, I've tried a few of the remakes that has appeared over the years. Each time I walked away disappointed.

Thankfully this remake is different! Naturally there are a few changes to the gameplay and they are all most welcomed. Time units makes way for two actions per turn for every soldier, there is only one XCOM base and missions have a higher level of action and doesn't feel tedious. No looking for that single alien that's keeping you from completing a mission.

What has been carried on is the connection you get to your soldiers as the game progresses, as well as much of the general feel from the original game. The narrative is more emphasised, for good and bad. It drives the game but also makes it feel a little bit linear. A great game for everyone who like turn-based action!
