Immersive Manager Sim with Some ME Problems*****

Having played FM for years now, I can safely say that FM13 is the most comprehensively immersive version yet. Setting the best tactics for your team match-to-match requires a more detailed understanding of your players' strengths and weaknesses, and those of the opposition, than previous editions, and as one who prefers to play in the lower leagues, it is (realistically) increasingly difficult to sign new players.

There are some problems with the match engine - that's the consensus of FM players who use the various forums - with your players making stupid and costly errors at a rate inconsistent with being a professional footballer. But nevertheless, it is a compelling game and as much fun as ever.

The FM forums really improve the gaming experience. You can get all of the team badges and kits that are not included in Sports Interactive's official licence, as well as updated, fantasy kits or kits-on-request in the various kit maker threads. Premier League kits for 2013/14 are already available and it's easy to edit using the FM Editor (which you have to obtain separately on Steam, but it's free once you've bought the game). I downloaded fully playable leagues to English pyramid level 12, and some users offer fantasy competitions via the forums.
