Inbetween Land

Inbetween Land Badge
Inbetween Land is casual adventure game about two orphan friends, when one of them, Mary, disappears on the flying island.

One day the life of some ordinary city was interrupted by appearance of the flying island, which turned out to be the abandoned homeplace of extraterrestrial civilization. Soon everybody got used to it, and island became the central attraction for tourists and looters. Our main character is an orphan who grew up in the shelter, where she became friends with Mary.

One day Mary came to the dream of our heroine asking for help. The same day our heroine reads the newspaper article about the strange light ray that connected abandoned sky island with the city, and most likely the source of the light was somewhere near the orphanage, where Mary was working then.

Our heroine rides to the orphanage to talk to Mary about her strange dream, but it turns out that she is missing for a couple of days. After that she finds a strange artifact from the flying island in Mary’s belongings. With its help she opens the portal between the city and the island.

The heroine starts looking for Mary on the island. This way leads her to the new discovery – island is a spaceship and all its people live as spirits on it. So our goal is not only to save Mary but to help aliens go back home.

  1. Breve e statico - Short and static
by Roberto Guarchi, Italy - Nov 10th 2016

The game is in the old style: short, static, with many (perhaps too many ...) mini-games and a few scenes with hidden objects. Overall, it is a game with a linear story, as well as music, images well done and a bit 'of boredom. Is redeemed only with the overall meaning of the story, but I think that today this is no longer sufficient. Recommend you try it only if you find it at a discounted price. You have the final decision. (Google translation)

  2. Average Adventure
by Scott Henderson, USA - May 20th 2015

The puzzles are designed to be fun to play rather than exceptionally difficult to solve. From this perspective, the game is an enjoyable way to kill a few hours. Storyline is rather linear and the plot is a really thin. Towards the end I didn't feel very involved, just solving various puzzles to get to the conclusion. For the price paid, it did not disappoint.

  3. Nice gameplay, bit too short & straightforward
by Hilde Dekesel, Belgium - Mar 25th 2014

Inbetween land is a good game which offers both search & find (hidden object) puzzles as well as regular puzzles.

Nice storyline but gameplay is a bit too short. It could have had more sideline ministories were additional puzzles were possible.
    Rather straightforward.

Just couldn't get into this game. It wasn't that fun, and seemed to miss the mark on so many levels.

  5. Short but pleasant

Not a very long game, but good puzzles and enjoyable scenes. The storyline is a bit of a stretch, but that's a minor criticism. Worth the price.

  6. Really cool puzzles
    by NoriMori, Canada - Oct 22nd 2012

I really enjoyed this game. The puzzles are challenging but fun. When you figure them out, you feel smart rather than feeling like an idiot. My only complaint is that buying only gave me maybe another hour or two of gameplay on top of the demo, so it felt like I wasn't paying for very much. But taking the game as a whole, I would say it's worth the money.

I really enjoyed the island setting. It has a Laputa/Atlantis-esque feel to it, and the design of the puzzles adds to this atmosphere. I just wish the game didn't say the inhabitants were aliens. Considering their technology, and their human appearance, it would be more believable to say that they were a lost civilization, like Laputa in "Castle in the Sky", or the city of Atlantis. But this is just nit-picking, it doesn't take away from the game's fun.
