It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out. A sudden, unprovoked attack by a mysterious organization known as the Brotherhood heralds the start of a full-scale war and opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, setting Jackie on a journey to hell and worse.

  1. Good game
    by matharri, Canada - Dec 29th 2017

I love the game, however the gameplay is quite rapid to get through, it took about 20 hours to finish the game.

  2. Halloween Treat
by Patrick Mele, USA - Oct 30th 2016

If You Like Dark Humor mixed with mafia comic undertones, then this is for you. Along with a uneak story line non stop melee action and first and third person shooting my way to a revengeful ending

  3. Sympa mais Graphisme un peu outdated!!...
    by Jean-Phi, France - Oct 26th 2016

    Fonctionne correctement sur yosemite 10.10.5
Sympa mais un peu trop linéaire mon gout.
Merite certainement d'être essayé avec une manette, car jouabilité peu évidente au clavier.

    [Working properly on Yosemite 10.10.5
Nice but a bit too linear for my taste.
Certainly deserves to be tried with a joystick, because few obvious gameplay keyboard.]

  4. Not Quite the Original But Still Fun
by Daniel Steven Oles, USA - Oct 1st 2016

I loved the atmosphere of the original The Darkness and this one largely dispenses with the realism and grit for a cell-shaded almost cartoony look, likewise changing out some of the more brutal combat animations. But it's still an exciting and psychological thrillride with a lot of variety in foes and how to dispense of them. I especially liked that the level structure is very unpredictable. One minute you're battling mobsters in the city, the next you're hobnobbing with your own crime family in a luxury manor. The collectables in this game are great too: each coming with an excellent story read to you by the breathless, panicky narrator. Reccomended for fans of shooters, gothic stories, and gangster lore.

  5. Decent Game
by Louis DeLaura, USA - Sep 15th 2016

The Darkness II is a decent game. The graphics aren't great and the story falls apart. It starts out really interesting and thought provoking but then just turns into run of the mill revenge and mythology and supernatural. It decides to pursue the main characters inability to get over his dead girlfriend than deal with the implications that the Darkness has. The gameplay is fun; however, the controls can be a little frustrating at times. I didn't touch the multiplayer so I don't really know how that is. It's a fun game, but nothing great. Also I beat the campaign in less than 4 hours...

  7. Awesome story!
    by VLOCT, Canada - Mar 12th 2015

Awesome story and the gameplay is very good! The problem is that when you go far in the game you realized it's a free for all shooting game. Shoot everywhere without quest.

  8. Pictures lie!
    by niksu, Finland - Dec 20th 2014

Bought this in a bundle from a couple of bucks. Didn't expected much from it, but more than it gave.

You play with somekind of mutant with tentacles and kill enemies with dual-wind guns, throwing objects and by striking them. Your are monster, people try to blow your head off.

Didn't really get the plot. The game felt so stupid when I played it so I had to quit. Confusing and strange describe well this game.

Pictures lie. Great graphics wont save the game from its simplementation.

  9. Nice game for killing (time)
by Dart Vlader, Croatia - Nov 30th 2014

I bought this game in bundle with The Bureau. Didn't expect much but it has nice graphics, very playable with interesting story development. It is out of box fun when you want to kill some time and mobsters.

  10. It a decent game
    by ac124, USA - Nov 21st 2014

It a preatty good game wich adds some new concepts to the franchise. it is a little short but it feels like a choice rather than laziness on the developers part.

  11. Bueno
    by noeml, Mexico - Mar 11th 2014

Buen juego, pero se hace viejo pronto, la historia es muy breve e incluso con los contenidos extras la duración del juego es poca. no reconoce control xbox y requiere steam, ambos son taches. mientras dura el gusto, the darkness te mantendrá muy entretenido.

  12. Being Bad Never Felt So Good.
    by EthanC., USA - Dec 20th 2013

Sure it's a bit on the short side when it comes to the campaign, but it feels like the game developers knew what they were doing. As if to say "if we make it longer it will drag, if we make it longer we lose something." That's the only reason I can think of to have such a short and great campaign. And that is certainly not a complaint at all in fact its a peice of praise.

People it is on sale for like 50% off right now. Do yourselves a favor or two, buy this game and you wont regret it. Ripping baddies apart with demon arms and finishing them off with guns is just… oh God it's just the best.

    Great dark story.

    Great gameplay.

    Wonderful voice acting.

    A must buy

  13. A dark adaptation
    by Alleycat, France - Dec 19th 2013

Even without knowing the comic book you can tell they made the best to adapt it in a video game. The characters and dialogue are top notch, the main motivation of the anti-hero perfectly portrayed. You will be tearing apart mobsters with brutal pleasure and need for revenge. With beautifully created fatalities, fighting with a dark power has never been more fun, and having to avoid the light to use it makes it truly challenging at times. The times when you control your litttle demon provide a nice change of pace, and Faith no more's Mike Patton voice talent always brings an ironic twist to things. The multiplayer is truly hectic and the different powers from each character will make you feel like one of the teenage mutant ninja turtles, only cooler. The game is not long but just enough to deliver the story nicely and the multiplayer packs extra hours of fun. Let the darkness rule!

  14. Awesome!!!
by Gabriel Pescador, Brazil - May 23rd 2012

A great game, it runs nice here in my MacBook Pro, Intel HD 3000. But if you are the type of person who loves high detail graphics don't play it on the same video card as me. In some levels the floor was only a dark thing to me. It's not a problem of the game but of my graphics card.

The game is awesome in all the ways, cinematics, action etc.

    Approved to me :)

    4. Hitlist allows you to select any mission/level from the main Vendettas, as well as a few Hitlist specific levels.

    5. There is no deathmatch style modes, only the co-op missions.
