After years of conflict, the Allies are finally on the brink of victory. Cowering behind the walls of the Kremlin, the Soviets decide to turn to one last act of desperation - the use of an experimental time travel device. The mission: to go back in time to eliminate Albert Einstein before he creates the technologies that will lead the Allies to ultimate victory. After a successful mission, the Soviets return to the present, discovering the Allied position has weakened. But before they can truly celebrate, they find out their actions have spawned a new threat and global superpower, the mysterious, technologically advanced, Empire of the Rising Sun. Welcome to World War III.

In Red Alert 3, all three factions will have their own hand-crafted story-driven campaigns, with co-operative missions designed solely around coordinating attacks and developing strategies with an ally. Hook up with a friend online to go through the entire experience or choose from a group of AI commanders, each with their own distinct playstyle and personality.

While most RTS games keep naval gameplay at the periphery, Red Alert 3 is not shying away from the high seas. The oceans now hold essential resources, and with many units and structures capable of becoming amphibious, players who turn their backs to the oceans will find conquering the world a daunting task.
  • Red Alert 3 brings back everything fans love about the series, the humor, the popcorn style story and the franchise's fast, action-oriented gameplay, while breaking new ground for the genre, with an entirely co-operative, story-driven campaign campaign mode and an increased emphasis on naval gameplay.
  • Co-Op Done Right - Every mission is designed from the ground-up with co-operative gameplay in mind. Join forces and strategize with friends online or join forces with nine AI commanders, three for each faction, all of whom have their own unique personality and style of play that might come in handy depending on the situation.
  • Command the Seas, Conquer the World - Experience Gameplay as for the first time in the series, waging war on the water will be every bit as important as dominating by land and air. Gain strategic advantages by controlling resources in the seas and mounting three-pronged attacks from all directions.
  • A New Threat from the East - The Empire of the Rising Sun is a technological terror, with unit designs influenced by a mixture of science-fiction, martial arts and robot culture. The Empire?s futuristic units can transform into alternate forms, and they specialize in naval warfare. Star-Studded Storytelling - Command & Conquer's trademark live-action videos return in HD, with over 60 minutes of footage featuring the largest cast in the history of the Command & Conquer franchise.

  1. Good game with lots of issues
    by thirstytree, Switzerland - Mar 24th 2015

Hi, despite all people having trouble, I choose to give it a try and see for myself.

I am running a mid-2014 macbook pro retina 13 inches with Yosemite.

I was first stuck on 800x600 resolution and was unable to change it. I followed advices and using the command+return keys I could change it to 1440x900 in medium settings which runs fine. But I had to try many times before it would accept the change without crashing. Now I just don't want to mess with the settings for fear of crashing.

I tried on my iMac and I have been trying for one hour and a hald just to change the resolution. Really annoying !

For the little I could see of the game, it's a good one. It brings a lot of memories, as I enjoyed Red Alert 1 and Tiberian sun as a child. I still play a lot of RTS and it seems this one is a lot of fun.

But so far I am just angry. I can't play on 800x600 on a 27 inches iMac.

  3. Crashes often
by Spencer Holbert, USA - Jan 26th 2015

Game crashes every so often, needs to be restarted, functions about 50% of the time. The game will crash randomly, and it's pretty annoying. I've reinstalled it several times, and the problem persists.

Not sure $30 is worth a game that crashes constantly. Can't adjust the resolution within the game GUI, had to alter the command lines to change it from 800x600.

Meh, wish it would actually work...

Not much more to say, this game just shows a black screen after i start it. So this was 30USD spent for nothing...

  5. If you like Tower Defense Games
by Todd Winkle, USA - Nov 28th 2014

Keep comming back to this game, I play it at least a few time a week. Would like to be able to create my own battle fields though, but there is enough content to keep you busy for a long time. I only play Verses any more, but may go back to play through all the original content some day.

  6. Future Battles
    by Alecat, Canada - Oct 1st 2014

I played all the C&C games before as they came out and dont remember this one very well. it plays ok but the graphics are certainly dated. So far it seems to be a fair game to play if you can get past the graphics. the video trailers are very well done.

  7. Good old C&C (III)
by casper boetes, Netherlands - Sep 4th 2014

The game is a bit dated, but still much fun to play. Whether u pick opponents/allies through the internet, a local network or either campaign or skirmish. A fun strategy game with adjustable difficulty settings, 3 geopolitical forces to pick from, each with their own strength and weakness.

  9. Awesome
    by Leigh456, Australia - Jul 29th 2014

Runs smoothy and descent graphics. Fun game with good video sequences and actors. Gameplay is challenging but also teaches you as you progress through the game so it's designed to learn as you go. I'm not far into it but so far it's one of the better games ive played. Works best with a mouse that has extra buttons.

  10. Red Alert 3-Mac
by Justin Mercier, Canada - Jun 17th 2014

If you want exceptional game play, and wicked graphics, then DON'T BUY THIS GAME. I bought it thinking it would be beyond PC standards but the resolution is stuck at 600X800

  11. Not happy
    by csirikul, USA - Jun 8th 2014

I bought this game excited like most players but I ended up being disappointed. The game would glitch and the entire screen would turn black but the audio can still be heard at random points of the game. It was frustrating and restarting did not help. It would happen at certain missions and I can't continue because I can't see anything. I like the game play but not when it's completely blacked out.

I have always enjoyed the CAC games. This one is alright but I still enjoy the game play and story line. CAC 5 was good as well. Have not played this in awhile, downloading it back onto my MAC actually haha.
