After years of conflict, the Allies are finally on the brink of victory. Cowering behind the walls of the Kremlin, the Soviets decide to turn to one last act of desperation - the use of an experimental time travel device. The mission: to go back in time to eliminate Albert Einstein before he creates the technologies that will lead the Allies to ultimate victory. After a successful mission, the Soviets return to the present, discovering the Allied position has weakened. But before they can truly celebrate, they find out their actions have spawned a new threat and global superpower, the mysterious, technologically advanced, Empire of the Rising Sun. Welcome to World War III.

In Red Alert 3, all three factions will have their own hand-crafted story-driven campaigns, with co-operative missions designed solely around coordinating attacks and developing strategies with an ally. Hook up with a friend online to go through the entire experience or choose from a group of AI commanders, each with their own distinct playstyle and personality.

While most RTS games keep naval gameplay at the periphery, Red Alert 3 is not shying away from the high seas. The oceans now hold essential resources, and with many units and structures capable of becoming amphibious, players who turn their backs to the oceans will find conquering the world a daunting task.
  • Red Alert 3 brings back everything fans love about the series, the humor, the popcorn style story and the franchise's fast, action-oriented gameplay, while breaking new ground for the genre, with an entirely co-operative, story-driven campaign campaign mode and an increased emphasis on naval gameplay.
  • Co-Op Done Right - Every mission is designed from the ground-up with co-operative gameplay in mind. Join forces and strategize with friends online or join forces with nine AI commanders, three for each faction, all of whom have their own unique personality and style of play that might come in handy depending on the situation.
  • Command the Seas, Conquer the World - Experience Gameplay as for the first time in the series, waging war on the water will be every bit as important as dominating by land and air. Gain strategic advantages by controlling resources in the seas and mounting three-pronged attacks from all directions.
  • A New Threat from the East - The Empire of the Rising Sun is a technological terror, with unit designs influenced by a mixture of science-fiction, martial arts and robot culture. The Empire?s futuristic units can transform into alternate forms, and they specialize in naval warfare. Star-Studded Storytelling - Command & Conquer's trademark live-action videos return in HD, with over 60 minutes of footage featuring the largest cast in the history of the Command & Conquer franchise.

  1. Do not purchase unless you love low resolution
    by Fuary, Australia - Oct 16th 2017

I really loved this game when it came out many years ago, but unfornatnly you can no longer change the resolution from its default 640x800. This makes the game look terrible. and in my opinion, unplayable. Some folks on the internet have found workarounds, but I could not. until this issue is fixed - which I don't believe it will as EA no longer supports it, I would not recommend you spending your money on this game.

(from my research the issue has been present since Mac OS Mavericks)

  2. Fun Game
by Louis DeLaura, USA - Oct 2nd 2017

It's a fun game to play. Combat and tactics are good. Only real issue here is that the resolution won't change even if I change the settings. It's always stuck at the 640x800. In my opinion that makes the game unplayable. I can't stand being that zoomed in and such low definition. But that's just me.

  3. A real gem!
    by inon30, USA - Jun 17th 2017

I played this game many years ago, but never really got into it. Now that I am older and approach to things slower, I get a chance to enjoy this. The graphics still looks sharp and pretty good for a 2008 game. The sound and the acting (especially the heavy fake accent) gives the game a comic / funny atmospher which I love. I still haven't played much, but I plan to spend most of my weekend enjoying this game.

There's a technical issue with resolution, but it's very easy to solve using a solution you can find in the comment section below (thank you guys!). Also, upon first launch, I was asked to download an update, the process was a bit weird, since I had to force quit a couple of times, but eventually, it worked.

Over all - I feel the $14 were well spent. And to whoever like old fashion RTS - GET THIS TITLE.

  4. Great game but hard to be run on A1707 without a few procedures
    by Haotian D., USA - Mar 16th 2017

RA3 is somehow a less pushing or serious game compared with other RA. Cartoon texture helped. However, it could not be adjusted to better resolution on my A1707 model until I figured out using window mode to adjust resolution then switch back to full mode. Overall, still a great game!

  6. Not working! Don't buy this!!!!
    by Peter L.4, Germany - Nov 29th 2016

The game will crash when you change the resolution to anything higher than 800x600 There is a game crash about every half-hour and the campaign crashes once you have reached a certain mission. I have tried this game now on three different macs but the failures stay the same at the exact same moments which proofs that it is a problem within the game. Unfortunately I have read the comments on your side concerning this game after I already bought it. There are so many comments addressing the same problems. EA won't give me any support for the mac version of Command and Conquer Red Alert 3. I have tried the suggested solutions to change the resolution but they don't work.. it always switches back. and playing on low resolution isn't even the main problem I wouldn't mind if the game was working fine.

  9. Awesome!
    by mattyj, Australia - Apr 17th 2016

I'm so pleased I got this. I've been wanting it for quite a while but I couldn't find the mac version anywhere, and I couldn't be bothered messing around with windows. This is perfect. Works amazingly well on my MacBook Pro 2015. I'm so stoked to have this!

  15. Good game with lots of issues
    by thirstytree, Switzerland - Mar 24th 2015

Hi, despite all people having trouble, I choose to give it a try and see for myself.

I am running a mid-2014 macbook pro retina 13 inches with Yosemite.

I was first stuck on 800x600 resolution and was unable to change it. I followed advices and using the command+return keys I could change it to 1440x900 in medium settings which runs fine. But I had to try many times before it would accept the change without crashing. Now I just don't want to mess with the settings for fear of crashing.

I tried on my iMac and I have been trying for one hour and a hald just to change the resolution. Really annoying !

For the little I could see of the game, it's a good one. It brings a lot of memories, as I enjoyed Red Alert 1 and Tiberian sun as a child. I still play a lot of RTS and it seems this one is a lot of fun.

But so far I am just angry. I can't play on 800x600 on a 27 inches iMac.
