  1. Not the classic one

It's not like the old classic Monkey Island, but still enjoyable

  2. A good continuation of the old titles
    by lconanl, Romania - Jul 22nd 2017

This game is a new edition to the Monkey Island series, but not a direct sequel to Escape from Monkey Island (the 4th game in the series). Don't expect amazing graphics, but I will say that they still stand out nicely because they have a nice bright hand-done feel. The dialogue and jokes stand true to the originals, as well as the voices. Guybrush's voice hasn't changed, and Murray's as well hasn't changed. However Elaine's and LeChuck's characters seem slightly mellowed down in this new edition.

The game's alright, even if it feels like a caricature of the previous iterations.

Some who grew up on it have said it's great nostalgia - this was my first time playing it, and still works well as a fun diversion.

  8. Love a good curse
    by Teanutter, Australia - Feb 13th 2016

The original monkey island games were my introduction to puzzle games many moons ago. This pack does it justice! I loved it, some puzzles were easy and some infuriatingly tricky!

  10. Craziness is back
    by Hermit64, Spain - Feb 7th 2015

First, a warning. Don't be fooled by the screenshots or the horrible video trailer posted here: they simply tell nothing about the game. What we have here is a high-quality adventure, a follow-up in the "Monkey Island universe". While the original Monkey Island game has aged miserably, this is a completely different case. It´s an updated adventure, very modern in concept and design. It's developed in a full-3D environment with cameras following the action, which makes the experience truly immersive. Graphics are fine, as are animations, all in a cartoon style (but not too "cartoonish"). The definition of characters is very good, as are their voices. Dialogues are smart and crispy. The story and situations are hilarious and original from start to end, with increasing weirdness with each twist of the plot. Puzzles you have to resolve are equally original, fun and weird, but all adjusted to the logic. The duration of the gameplay give this game a high value for the money. All of this this means that this is probably one of the best adventures you can find out there. If only Telltale would make its games just as 50% as good as this is...

  12. PilarS
    by PilarS, USA - Nov 2nd 2013

If you like adventure games, this is a must. I love the original Lucas Arts adventure games and I was skeptical about this game living up to expectations. Tales of Monkey Island is an awesome game: the characters are hilarious, the puzzles are fun to solve, the movie scenes are great, and the length is good (although like with any other good game it feels short). Now a warning: I did not like the first chapter of the game very much. I found frustrating some of the puzzles of this chapter (specially the "map related" ones). Keep going because the rest of the chapters are worth every second spent. I know there are cheaper adventure games around but I would say that this is worth the price and that if you liked the Lucas Arts adventure games you will probably love this.

This game is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I was sad to reach the end of the game.

  15. A very good game
by Mario Arias Fernández, Spain - Apr 12th 2010

Despite some minor game bugs the game is worth the money it costs as it offers a lot of fun. It's a very original game and it offers an unique perspective in click-adventures, that of Guybrush Threepwood and company.
