Lots of fun

This is a great game, good dialogue and story, terrific grafics and fun to play. Loved it, hope for more from these folks. Well worth the money.

Monster Quest

Good idea, poor execution

The most frustrating thing about playing this is the inability to save your game at the point you wish - when you come back in, you have to play through and find items that you have finished several scenes before. This has kept me from finishing this game; I will probably finish later, but I can't recommend it for this one reason. Otherwise, it is informative and different.

COULD BE BETTER

It's a clever idea, fairly good graphics and sound but a little choppy in the gameplay. Some items are next to impossible to find without the hint button which is generous. Some puzzles are very good. Disturbing in the inability to save where you want. Have to play things over and over. Also, way to short for the money and no replay value. Takes about an hour to play.

ENTERTAINING LIKE A BOOK

It's definitely a cute and very clever story but that's all it is. It's just like reading a book with almost nothing to do as a player. You have a few choices to point in the right direction and the rest is done for you.

Build-a-lot
 –

Great playability, no replayability

Build-a-lot has a low learning curve, so it's easy to dive right in. The slow response time makes it seem like this was a bad port from some other platform, but it hardly ever gets in the way of gameplay.

As the game progresses, it does get pretty difficult, especially if you want to clear it in their shortened "bonus level" time. The different themes of the neighborhoods are cute and give the game some personality and individuality.

In the end it was enough for me to shell out $20. I got maybe 15 hours of fun out of this game, and while you can play it in "casual" mode, it's just not as fun as the regular mode.

Build-a-lot 2
 –

Good sequel to the original

I bought this second installment of build-a-lot on the basis of my good experience with the first version.

Build-a-lot 2 delivers. It has a low learning curve like the first version, so you can download the demo and understand the basics of gameplay in about 10 minutes.

The interface and rendering are smoother here than the first version - it has definitely been improved. The graphics are slightly improved, with some buildings that animate.

There are new building types and a few more bells and whistles, but the gameplay is essentially unchanged from the first version - meet x criteria before x time has elapsed.

The build-a-lot series has a very addictive quality that's level-based, so you can spend 15-20 minutes trying out a level and then quit the game to return to it in that place. It's a good mix between "casual gaming" and something that's more immersive.

This was about 10 hours of gameplay for me; I had bought build-a-lot previously so I had some experience. Was it worth the $20? When I think of some of the ridiculous ways I've spent $20, build-a-lot 2 is absolutely worth the dough.

Note that if you are an astute gamer, which I am not, you might be able to complete all the levels in a few hours.

Ancient Secrets

not worth purchasing, too short, no real replay

I got into graphics and variety of puzzles but others said. No increase in difficulty and just no replay value. Just goes back to the beginning. Finished it to quickly and that was all. Rather disappointing really. At least if levels were added it would add to overall playability. In other words. Don't waste your $.

Great to pass the time.

One of the first games I bought for my Mac.. A good game to pass the time. Puzzles get harder as you advance. you can even Set it up to use all the exsplosives and just blow things up...

Fishdom
 –

Fantastic Title - Very Addictive Gameplay

A great title, if anything one of the most addictive games I've come across for any platform. The main incentive for me was to create a flourishing aquarium, all of which are set out in stages, so you develop your aquarium gradually receiving the accolades required to move onto a next tank (at the same time you can come back to your original tank at anytime).

The pure joy is in the gameplay, as someone mentioned above it has 'similar' gameplay to Big Kahuna, but then Big Kahuna derives from many other games out there so bit of a derogatory comment. If anything Fishdom evolves from this and creates a completely new spin on the premature genre.

This is a great game to get involved in and is perfect to relax too, the music and graphics accompany well to the overall game. Definitely worth investing in!

NOT READY!

There is no menu for this game so you cannot get a full screen. Can't see or play HO games this way. Get that corrected and then it looks like a good game.

Loved this Game!!

I found this to be one of the most refreshing, original and hilarious games I have played in ages. It is not the most difficult game in the world, but definitely one of the most entertaining!!!

Great Game!

I have played the demo version for PC before, and loved it. When I got a mac, I was thrilled to find out this game was available for mac! I have not run into any problems with the game, everything runs smoothly and with out a glich.

Think of this game as a combination between role playing, strategy, and a board game! Try it out in the Demo if you are not sure, but if you enjoy it as much as I do... then you will deffinately benefit from purchasing it.

Amazing Graphics

I must say when I first started this game I found it quite difficult because I didn't realise you could zoom in on certain segments of the picture but when I did I was absolutley amazed at the quality of graphics used in this game. It may be another hidden object game but it is definitely more challenging than most. Absolutely worth purchasing.

Ancient Secrets

Fun, but short

I downloaded the demo, the game was fun, after the 60 minute demo was up, I kept wanting to play so I decided to purchase it. It was fun, but only took about three hours total to beat, and never got really difficult. Fun game, not much replay value in it.

Penumbra: Overture

Great game

Despite the criticisms made, I went ahead and downloaded the demo to give it a try.

It's running on my G5 iMac and looks amazing. A very scarey game with tons of atmosphere.

I liked it so much, I bought the entire trilogy!!!

Call of Atlantis

Great for the same old Formula

IF you love MATCH 3 you will love this. It is done well in every way. There is only one problem. The premise is the same as every other MATCH 3 out there. I love a good one eg. Acncint Secrets of Saqqarah. This is good but nothing much different from the typical MATCH 3. IF your are addicted to match 3 buy it. If you are like me and like a good original one every once in awhile ...skip it. GOOD GAME.....JUST NOTHING NEEW AT ALL!

Nanny Mania 2
 –

for clening women or au-pair :D

This game is really fun for first 20 minutes, but then, you're still just clicking anywhere and don't think about anything. But it CAN be fun for you if you love cleaning a lot. Maybe it's designed for cleaning women with Mac LOL.

Scrabble Classic

Great game for Mac and for students of English

If you love Scrabble, you will love this game. The included dictionary and hint tool is really cool and usefull. The fulscreen mode changes the resolution of your screen, so all windows are smaller after the game. Playing in window is the better way. The graphic part is not so good done, but... it's Scrabble, so don't worry.

Laura Jones and the Gates of Good and Evil

Amusing Game

The Game has nice graphics and a lot of fun situations. You can replace the mini games with alternate challenges which is a nice twist. Once unlocked you can replay the mini games. Enjoyed the game but like to many now it is too short.

The puzzles are not too difficult.

All in all I enjoyed it, just wish it had been longer.
