It's a really nice game. If you like the style, you can have hours of fun. I strongly recommend to test the demo, and check if the game attracts you. Anyway, I find the game a little expensive for the content it offers. There are similar (not as good as this one) free internet flash games that can replace this one.
Beautiful artwork, excellent and challenging puzzles
Worth the time of play and worth the money. Many puzzles that were new to me, and challenging too. I'm going to play this again (that's something that doesn't often happen).
Anyone familiar with the story of Sweeney Todd won't be surprised by the grisly storyline. The theatre is fun, and adds to the melodrama of the story, and there is a nice mix between HO and puzzles to solve. All in all, took me about 5 hours to solve playing off and on over a few days. Good length and good fun.
I have just purchased this game and find it quite difficult to stay on the road. Therefore i am finding it a touch frustrating . I"m sure as my skill in keeping the car on the road improves i shall start to enjoy the game more. At the moment i only have the patience to play this game for about half an hour at a time so am gonna be a while before i get good at it. All in all a very good game for the money.
I had never played a game like this, when I first heard about it I thought it was going to be a guy killing people with to much blood and guts, but turned out to be so much more. Great graphics, characters, and plot.
1. Haven't recieved any deluxe content. 2. Lags very much, feels like a bad port from pc. 3. Multiplayer mode will not work for me, server is almost empty (live in sweden)
I'm sure it's a great game, if it had run as good on mac as pc, and everything else had worked, it would be a 5 star!
Incredible graphics and gameplay. Found it helpful to change the controls and use a wireless mouse. Only problem is, I can't get Multiplayer to work. Probably cause no one else has the Game on Mac. Pls buy, need to play ONLINE!!!
However, that is it's main appeal and I find it a great game to play in the early morning when I am still waking up or when I need to waste a few minutes.
The concept feels unique and the atmosphere is wonderful. Yes, the graphics and sounds are amazing but the lack of any weapons is what elevates this game to amazing. It's what keeps the player feeling helpless, and that in turn can make a big difference. The puzzles are fun and the player can feel themselves losing their sanity along with Daniel.
This game was a total dissapointment. It is too short, no or lame story line, too easy puzzles and no surprises. You run through it and that's it. Don't waste your money.
Sorry to say, but my Paris adventure ended before I could get my "suitcase" packed. I got into the "suitcase" packing and the instructions were written more for IBM. I don't have a mouse that has a right and left button, so the articles would not rotate for me. I tried the control button, which works on most of my other games, but didn't work here. Once I placed the first item (at the wrong angle) all the other items wouldn't fit in correctly, but then, it wouldn't let me go back and make a correction, so I was stuck with no way out but to quit the demo. There's no way to reset. So for me... this game was not appealing. Sorry.
Mystery P.I. - Stolen in San Francisco is wonderful play
I enjoyed the download so much I had to buy it! I mean if you love H.O. games this is one you've got to get. I mean 25 levels!!! I don't care if you visit scenes three or four times. You look for different objects each time. The scenes are fantastic - just like being in San Fransisco. The background music is perfect and the background sounds and play sounds make the time pass quickly. This is one of my favorites. I'd love more like this one.
I just want a good looking board. I tried turning off the animation and it refused to let me. I tried several games. Scorpion you can't even see the card suit. How stupid. Too slow moving. I didn't like the voices either and couldn't get rid of them short of turning off the sound.
This game rocks.Single player -consider it just a training and preparation for multiplayer.I have it quite long but still can come back to multiplayer. Is brutally fast if u go in "free for all' mode.If i need to quickly "kill someone" this is a place to go.
I'd like to thank this store for finally releasing a Mac version of this game. It is pure delight to play a game set in San Francisco while living just a few miles east of San Francisco. Although it can be monotonous to play through 25 levels of hidden object games, it offers players the opportunity to play the part of a private investigator in trying to search for stolen gold. Believe me, you need great patience and endurance to visit the same scenes over and over again until you get the final part of operating a crane over a container ship and figuring out which container is worth inspecting to search for stolen gold. Scenes include famous sights like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Chinatown, or the inside of a cablecar and a Muni Metro streetcar.
This game has a style unlike any other I've played. Beautiful detailed hand drawn feel which gives the game a whole new ambience. Very classic adventure based with a inventory system yet there was a balance of novice to challenging brain puzzles mixed into the flow of the story. It was very interesting to follow visually from what the robots were thinking and feeling.
Only wish it had a little more freedom of exploration and use of its inventory system over brain puzzles as to not get stuck for hours on one task. Not a lot of back story but I think thats part of the magic that lets your own imagination run on this one. Well worth the money. Ill definitely look forward to a sequel or two.
The puzzles just keep on coming. Sometimes you have to look real hard, but when you finally use a hint you slap yourself, 'I should have seen that'. surprising and different. Nice graphics too. The story seems a bit vage, but who cares.
