Fun game if your patient, when I first started playing there didn't seem to be much to keep me intrested but it eventually grew on me. decent graphics and gameplay, fun for people that enjoyed those old war simulators.

A good game for an honest price

You can't ask a lot more to a $20 game : Good graphics, good performances and it's working with my USB controllers (Saitek "flight simulator oriented" peripherals).

Like many racing games, it's a bit repetitive. But, as there's a lot of game modes, tracks, cars and customization options, this game remains fun even after a few hours.

Great game

Fantastic game but crashes now and then. good value for money and an excellent finish to her other games and life. hope this isnt the end of her series, maybe they will think of her having children and one of her children starting the cycle again.

Tropico 4: Gold Edition
 –

A good Mac port of a good game

TL;DR version: Tropico is a fun game with good graphics, lot of humour, excellent performances and good replayability.
Although the game is not cheap, the quality of the port and the included DLC justify the price. If you like "building games", don't hesitate and buy it.

The good points:
- A lot of buildings, islands and development paths to choose from. It's not as complex as Civ V, but I found this game to be more fun than Civilization (Civ 5 is 100% crap-and-half-done-porting job).
- Modern times DLC is included (it's a must-have). Above that, the sandbox mode extends the game replayability.
- You can continue to play even when the "game is over".
- You can choose your difficulty level ranging from "Have some fun building a very large city on a paradise island" to "struggle with natural disaster and counter-revolutions".
- The omnipresent humour is not heavy-handed. Buildings descriptions and advisors dialogs are fun.
- The program is stable, Mavericks (10.9) compatible and performs well even with a large city. I didn't encounter a single crash or slowdown during 10-20H of gameplay.
- Although I didn't test any of them, there's a lot of user created content accessible from an in-game download manager.

The not-so-good points:
- Controls are a bit unintuitive, but the tutorial explains everything.

Works great!

Game runs smooth and wonderful, looks amazing, has great graphics and sound and lots of fun action in the modes of play. simple install, works on macs that MEET THE REQs (mine does)... worth every penny, awesome game. My only gripe is some of the story boarding is a bit ... dry. but space graphics and pew pew pew! make up for it!

More variety would be nice

The quests are not so clear anymore all the same games start to look alike very fast, so you get bored by it much faster then before....

So much promise ruined by bugs

I'm playing this game on a 2011 iMac, with all settings maxed out. Runs really well, from a graphically point of view, and the game looks great.

The setting is excellent, and very promising so far. Gameplay is a bit hard to get into, as you get a lot of information and the game plays a bit differently than your aveage RPG.

Unfortunately, the game is extremely filled with bugs. 25% of the time I have conversations with characters, I am greeted with a black screen and subtitles. The game crashes every 15-20 minutes, which is the big killer. And sometimes after it has crashed, I can't start the game again, before I've restarted the computer (Why that is even possible, I have no idea!). Shadows tend to flicker all over the place when you get near things.

So sad.. But I wouldn't recommed anyone buying it, until they fix these things, which is probably never given the age of the game.

Edited review: The game has now been updated, and the crashings has been fixed.

So I've changed my review to 5 stars, as it really is an amazingly good game! Highly recommended if you like dark RPGs.

Started off great but now it won't let me advance to act 2. really frustrated. also there is no tutorial that i can find to explain a few things. turning the "help" on doesn't seem to do anything either (unless i just don't know how to access it).

Don't Starve

Survive!

Wow, 'Don't Starve' is incredibly ridiculous good! The goal is to get out of this world, and believe me, it's huge. And it gets richer on every update. Yes, the game lives! There's so much to discover, even a Wiki is available for this game: dont-starve-game.wikia.com; check it out! Take it serious and don't starve :)

Horrible view!

The game uses a horrible and ridiculous "squeezed" window on my MacBook. It's like a ported iPhone version in portrait mode, using the full height of my screen but only about 20% of the width.

Great simulator. Good Humor.

This is a really fun game. There's a lot to take in at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

The interface is not exactly optimal, but the simulation runs well.

Napoleon: Total War™ - Gold Edition
 –

REPLY TO WAIT HARBOR.

The game will have to get several updates in order for the game to have multiplayer, like RTW, or "rome total war" the game had to get about 3 to 4 updates in-order to play multiplayer. so i hope this answers your question. the game is also a grate game with really.... no flaws, but if you havent played a stragety game befor then these kinda of games can be very difficult.

It's a ok game took me a while to finish, the items are pretty hard to find. Just had little trouble reading the story since the last 2 lines kept overlapping.

Napoleon: Total War™ - Gold Edition

A good game with a tiny flaw

It was the first game I played in the total war series, and I think it is worth the money I paid. Although I have to admit, it is rather difficult to play as the tutorial contains more of history and basic maneuvers, I don't deny it is rather addictive.

Except for a flaw,or a bug-Why can't I play multiplayer mode online? My game only contains a local network multiplayer mode! IS it just me or is it a bug in this vision?
