Fun, but Nothing Special

Its fun, but can get really boring after a while, and its repetitive. If the price is right buy it, itll distract you for a couple of hours.

Bastian

I have wanted to play this game for a long time and now that I am on a Mac it was my first purchase and I really like it but it is diagonal and being new to the Mac ( I had PC before ) I am learning how to control it I think it is one of the most colorful games I have seen and I love the narration from the game helper. All in all I love it so far. Time to back and play it some more.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
 –

Fun, however a little too paralell to the original Amnesia

I purchased this on steam. Although it has many fun aspects to it, many of them are unoriginal when put next to the original Amnesia. Many of the puzzles are similar to the original, and you can almost guess where the monster will be the first time playing through. The monster is a bit less scary, and most of the time, you will not feel rushed as you can easily outsmart it in many cases. It's hard to say that any parts of this game are unique due to it's thick paralellness to the original Amnesia. They re-used many aspects, and I suggest looking up Amnesia The Dark Decent before consideering playing this.

Super Granny 5

I love this game

This is one of my "go-to" games. The music is fun, the game play is accessible, and I lose just often enough to keep me coming back for another attempt at perfect.

BioShock
 –

Not exactly Atlantis, but beautiful despite that!

PROS:
-Fun combat mechanic.

Freedom to move your mouse with sensativity change. You can cast spells similar to: electric, illusionary, bugs, ect! It feels like it actually takes some thinking, and strategic fighting to win.
-Nice graphics.

Even though the graphics are lesser than some games, they are certainly not disatisfying, and the city does have a hint of creepiness to it on top of the action.
-Fun skill tree. Unlock different abilities, and you can even swap them out for others.

This addition allows you to dictate YOUR battles, and that is the way I love to fight.

CONS:
-The fighting gets old

Now the fighting does varry, but you will find yourself fighting mostly 5-8 types of enemies throughout the entire game which you can break down into three styles. Melee, guns, and bomb throwers, and that's it. Don't be discouraged though, the obsticals do change, as well as the scenery, and you will wonder what will be in the next room. It is fun to explore.

-Unoriginal story

There are interesting twists to the story that you do not expect at first, however when approaching the twist, you are able to guess what will happen based on what you have gone through before it comes, giving the story a bitter-sweet taste to some degree.

TO CONCLUDE:

Bioshock may have it's weaknesses like any other game, but what some may fail to see is that where IT IS strong, it is well done, and that is what makes it fun.

The Curse of the Werewolves
 –

Clumsy bad version of a hidden object game

Based on demo

There are many many more better versions of this bloated category of games (sometimes listed as anything from adventure to sim). Hidden object games need to be have clear graphics, scaled hidden objects and objects need to be able to be found without psuhing up gamma levels to search miniature sized objects hidden in dark corners.

This game fails on the all the above. the objects renot to scale, the graphics in the hidden object sections are poor etc.

hints only appear on occasion and whilst one should not rely on them on thecasual level they should be in every scene not just a select few

I am no a real fan of hidden object games but have seen much better one than this on this site. I prefer simulations and RPG MRPG

if you like this sort of game personally i would look at others

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction
 –

Best of the series

Unlike splinter cell games on play station, this game has perfect graphics and very easy to play. I played the whole series on play station and must say you have to try this game.

Battle Fleet

Not for me

Worst strategy game I've ever played. Really bad graphics and really bad aiming. This game is not for me and I don't recommend you to buy it.

Democracy 3
 –

Not there yet

It seems like the real life. When I first launched the game, it was like omg, can it be but than when I played it, it didn't feel real. The relations and economy doen't seem like real life. I think they are in a good point but not there yet.

Doorways: Prelude
 –

Frustrating

It's hard to write a review of a game which somebody might like a lot and somebody else might find boring or tedious. And since I only got a little way through the game I may not be the best judge, but here it is: The first few rooms were spooky but didn't present much challenge.

I enjoyed gathering the necessary items but when I got the the next part, the scene in the jagged forest, I ran into difficulty. You're given a torch to light your way through the impenatrable darkness but the torch only stays lit for a few seconds. Then you have to find another torch to light it with, meanwhile if you take a wrong turn you're confronted with the scream of the ghost child or you fall off the edge into a pit and die. There's a collapsed wooden bridge you have to find your way across, and again you keep falling off or coming face to face with the ghost. The ghost girl is scary the first couple of times you meet her, but after about 20 confrontations it just gets boring. It's so dark, even with the brightness turned up, that just don't know where you're going. You have to keep going over and over your route to make progress when you keep getting dumped back at the last save point. The gameplay is very linear, just the opposite of an open world. There's only one way you can go, any other leads to death.

Yes, I'm complaining that it's hard...and for some players this kind of puzzle is fun, but for me it was just to repetitive and lacking in any sense of orientation or visual complexity to be fun exploring. I just had to give up...too much wandering blindly in the dark, too minimalist, not enough discovery, little sense of progress. Not really scary, just frustrating. I generally like solving puzzles but I also like to feel I'm in a real place with multiple possibilities. Solving these puzzles just seems too much like work.

Nancy Drew: The Silent Spy
 –

Gold standard

This is the best of the Nancy Drews so far. It's the gold standard of puzzle adventure games: the puzzles are clever and challenging and varied, you get many hours of gameplay, you learn a lot and the scenes are really picturesque. The storyline can be a little odd and the characters sometimes a little annoying, but that's typical of Nancy Drew. This is an excellent game and I strongly recommend it. Incidentally, I received a warning from Macgamestore that my computer did have the right specs to play this game - the video RAM on my MacBook Air was supposedly not high enough - but I took a chance and it plays just fine.

Farmington Tales
 –

Farming Tales

Bought the game as I had played the secound game in the series Farmington Tales The Winter Crop. On the first run through the game I got up to the part in the game where you harvest the bell pepper and the game quit. Tried again and the same thing happened. I found the game a bit tedious and the goals for improving your farm(Quest, Puzzles etc.) boring and annoying. to improve your farm is very expensive i.e..A dog house for over 2,000aprox. I am om my third run through trying to get to the end. the game was a bit expensive not the $6.99 game that is the usual.
All I can say really is be prepared.
