The atmosphere and setting were wonderful and effectivly added to the mood and story. The house seemed believable and inviting as well as haunting and mysterious that lent a superb sense of eeriness to the exploration. Sam's story unfolds at a perfect steady pace and never seems forced or unbelievable. Subtle nuisances to the decore and items placed through out really add great depth and forsight into the characters and their actions. I was born in 1987 so a few of the references to the 90s were lost on me but it seemed familar enough to instill a bit of nostalgia. My only complaint is that it was a bit short. I found almost everything in the house and (based on internet searches) discovered 95% of the story and the game only clocked in at about 2:30. I also think the gaming aspect of the game could have been enhanced a wee bit but I understand its omission because the story really takes center stage. Fanatsic experience overall.
Great hidden object game that has the puzzle element added. Shame I finished it so quickly... I played the demo & it got me hooked enough to buy the game though. Most hidden object games don't get me that far. It has a good story line & decent puzzles. Worth my money spent !
If you like ambigious endings and nonsensical plot twists, then this game is for you! Pretty to look at but ultimately soulless, B.I. is a sad last chapter in a supremely promising series.
I am sure if I had stuck with it it will get better but it was slow moving and the lack of a strategy guide to consult if not sure where to look next is a problem
I really didn't like this game. I have to admit it's cleverly conceived and it played without a hitch on my setup, but there was something crude and simple-minded about the execution of the game world which turned me off. First of al, the world of BioShock Infinite is wildly improbable, a violation of all known laws of physics and technology. Set in a sort of 1911 American universe there are so many contradictions and impossibilities it is difficult to embrace this world, even considering that for video games we always have to bring a large amount of willing suspension of disbelief.
The graphics are crude and cartoonish, the characters are flat, mechanical and one-dimensional. It rather looks like the garish display of a pinball machine. The bright illustrator graphics and improbable physics subvert the necessary feeling of immersion, which I think is necessary for the shooter genre. The historical references and iconography I found not only improbable, but somewhat offensive. Symbolism of American patriotism and revivalist Christianity are distorted and inverted to form the phisosophical basis of this dystopia. Magic, which plays a large role in this game, seems out of place in the ersatz world of 1911. The combat mechanics lack subtlety and are pretty easy on medium setting. Though there are numerous robots in the game, the rest of the characters, the entire population of this city in the clouds, is robotic, soulless.
These are my impressions from playing the game for only several hours. Perhaps after more hours of gameplay I might come to appreciate the refinements of plot, but I have little hope. As in the case of all games, what people like is a very individual thing, and others seem to have liked this game a lot. I am giving only my personal impresion. I'm just saying that at least one veteran gamer found this game boring, slightly repulsive and definitely non-immersive. Individual experience may differ.
I just got this, and really love it overall. But yes, it needs some interface tweaks.
For instance: need to be able to skip the opening graphics. After the 20th time, I don't need to be reminded that it's Feral, and 2K, and the Unreal engine. Seriously, let me skip this!
Need to be able to restart a level without having to go back to a saved game.
Skip cut scenes for sure.
But aside from those needed interface tweaks, I am really enjoying the game. A good, strategy-oriented Warcraft (no twitch reflexes needed).
Good pinball simulator with 6 tables and 6 different materials for six different balls with different characteristics (each one acts differently). Ok, all this is positive but i can't find a "soul", a "hearth" in any of the six tables. Solving this i would give five stars.
I´ve played through the whole first series and im definitly not disapointed by this one :) Get IT NOWWW !!!! and no i dont work at telltale interactive
I am a sucker for all farm games. I can't help but give this game a positive review! It was a bit too short for me, which is why it received only 4 stars.
This game is one of my favorites. I am a sucker for anything that requires me to build a village for its habitants. This is a lot like virtual villagers, only this is with aliens (I think!). Worth a try for sure.
