Stellaris
 –

Go to space, meet new people, feel inadequate about it

While many players seem to view this game as a genocide simulator, I personally much prefer peaceful (or "peaceful", as much as a criminal empire come interstellar conglomerate can be) runs. Similar to CK3: Don't forget to role-play. Winning is rarely satisfying but doing a specific thing is. Be the Space UN.

Surviving Mars: Season Pass
 –

The music will follow you

Never forget to turn on the radio. Turn to earth's surf tunes. Realize that it's really important that you and your future spouse are on the same page with regards to the sea.

Like with CK3 and Stellaris: Don't forget to roleplay, have concept-runs. Otherwise it gets stale like the air out of the recycler.

Stellaris: Nemesis
 –

Visit the stars, become trouble

This expansion is by no means necessary to enjoy Stellaris but the *option* to cause trouble is fun, even if you otherwise are a pacifist.

Stellaris: Lithoids Species Pack
 –

Tiny expansion, rock solid

In this expansion you play rock people. They eat.. Other, non-sentient (mostly) rocks. It's fun. Not necessary, but if it's cheap might as well get it. Also you look cool and reproduce slowly.

Crusader Kings II: Way of Life
 –

Expands on the roleplaying

This expansion mostly expands the roleplaying in CK2. Some people are mad about the features locked away behind DLC, but if you can get it for cheap it's worth it. Either that or go for CK3. Both good options, depending on your situation.

Stellaris: Necroids Species Pack
 –

Cheap, adds interesting twist

I really enjoyed my playthrough as a people who turns other people into.. Well, themselves. It gave me ideas for TTRPG campaigns I'd like to run some day. :) Small DLC, but for little money: Worth it.

Crusader Kings III: Royal Edition
 –

Great game, mix between strategy and roleplaying

Encompasses many things that you only got through DLCs in CK2, looks much better. The research system is much improved. Kidnapping vacillates between under- and overpowered with different patches. Important to enjoy: Role-play, don't just try to "win". Set yourself goals and then let yourself re-define those goals for each playthrough.

Stellaris: Federations
 –

Good DLC

This DLC expands the diplomacy of the game drastically. While the free update that came along with federations added a lot, this dlc adds enough that you should def put it twoards the top of your list (with say, apocalypse) as the DLCs you should get first.

Europa Universalis IV: Emperor
 –

Situationally good, the situation just happens to be for most players

If you plan on playing a catholic nation, in the HRE, or in europe in general, this DLC is kind of required. It added a lot of mechanics to the pope and other factions. Grumbling that some mods have added more content aside, if you want to play vanilla EU4 at its best, this is a DLC you should grab but wait for a sale. Or do the subscription thing.

Crusader Kings III: Royal Edition
 –

Amazing sequel with lots of potential

We all kind of knew this game was going to not have as much depth in some areas as CK2. CK2 had almost a decade of support and some of the features, namely secret societies, are things that are blatantly missing from this game. However as of the royal court update that is yet to come out, it seems the depth that seemed missing from your character will now be there. At the very least this game is a good foundation for the future, a much better one than base CK2 was i might add. But that doesn't mean you should feel obligated to pay money to a game for the possibility of a good future. I think its worth a sale price as is. And the royal edition specifically i view as a great deal seeing as it will save you money as the first expansion and first 2 flavor packs are included.

Stellaris: Nemesis

Pretty important dlc

If you want the full stellaris experience this one is a must own. Up there with apocalypse and federations really. This is in the triangle of must get Expansion DLC's. Unless you dont like fun.

Stellaris: MegaCorp
 –

Very situational

If there is one major DLC you want to skip in stellaris its this one. That is not saying it isnt good, its just saying that it isnt particularly important to most playstyles. Megacorps themselves are not particularly engaging although some new updates have added some stuff. IF you really really want the features then its worth your money, otherwise grab it on sale and/or grab other major dlc's before this one.

Stellaris: Nemesis
 –

A bit lackluster

Unfortunately, the spy system is a bit lackluster. But the option of becoming a galactic crisis, curator or imepium is pretty nice.

Still There
 –

Alone in space

Still There tells an emotional story about loss and grief and combines it with very challenging puzzles. I recommend it. :)

Stellaris
 –

Fun!

Everything seemed so overwhelming. I wish the start would slowly introduce stuff to players accordingly to the your civilization's needs and not bombard me with so much information at once.
After a while it seemed so fun to explore new worlds and making new colonies. Combat is so immersive as you control your space fleet's every move.
