After so many unimpressive DLCs, there is one that finally breaks the pattern and actually adds meaningful content and changes to the core of the game. Adds a great amount of meaningful content to various parts of the game - this should be the standard for paradox DLC in the future, and the fact that much more lacklustre pieces of DLC exist at the same price point makes this shine even more!
Most fun DLC to date. The Mexican focus tree alone is worthy enough. Pros: Mexican focus tree, in any way you want to play it (ultracatholic/fascist or Trotsky leading the true revolution). I've had my most fun games to date playing it. Cons: Great ships take ages to be built. The module system, though, is fun
So I tried playing as Japan and became a constitional monarchy and even joined the Allies. This became one of the strangest vanilla Heart of Iron IV experiences I've ever had. When I went democratic I pretty most lost my entire navy as the facist and my forces fought a violent civil war. I guess it's not a huge loss since I have the British Empire as an ally. While that was happening a random rebellion breaks out in the Soviet Union. I find my army fighting Hungarians and Croatians in the Balkans while the rest of my army fights the Germans in France. Things were going well until Italy joined the Axis and we have no sign of US help for a while because world tension was below 70%.
In other words I had no idea how this was going to turn out or what would happen next which made this one of the best experiences I've had in HOI IV.
The unit sprites, especially the eastern women are kind of generic looking compared to previous sprites, which is kind of disappointing. I mean the Mongol intrigue person has an eagle on her arm. The female Africans are slightly better but not by much. The Byzantine clothing is ok.
Seriously? I have over 1500 hours logged on CK2, and I was very enthusiastic in the past. But this content should've been part of the update, and to keep nickeling and diming the fans for so little and for items that should've been included in gameplay in the first place. I'm increasingly disappointed with Paradox for these tactics.
Too expensive if you don't play in the Middle East (I do play in the Middle East, though, so personally I'm fine, but I imagine not too many folks play Timurids or Qara, so, there's that). But only *slightly* too expensive in that case.
That said, the change with Army Professionalism/Drilling is probably not being recognized for being as big as it is, even despite the attention it is already getting.
Sadly, the developer for this pack chose to ignore a significant flow of constructive criticism offered on Paradox forum and released it as is. I purchased it to support Paradox for making amazing games but that's it. I disable this pack in my games because I can't stand looking at this monstrosity.
With this latest expansion the title can no longer be referred to as simply a "paint the map your color" game as it has been in the past. With the new Great Power mechanic you can't ignore building tall anymore. Combine that with the features added in the Cossacks expansion, and you have plenty of stuff to worry about internally now as well as externally to maintain control within your realm.
Overpriced for this content. I bought this just the renting your troops out for money and hireing other mercs when you need. It's fun during peace time to turn your troops into mercs and attack countries you want to help.
I really like this DLC for eu4. With this expansion, you can change your rank, you can become a constitutional republic or kingdom, you have more oportunities to become an interesting country in the Middle Age.
This expansion is good to complete your collection. If you have the Horse Lords Pack, the content pack is giving you an interesting experience, because you have new military units and portraits that make your experience in the game to be better.
If you like to spy your people and have the full control in your island country, ehis expansion is very good for you. With this expansion, you will have 9 new military buildings that help you to have the full control in the country, but also new campaign, islands, music tracks, costumes, accessoires. This is a complete expansion.
This is a classic small dlc or tropico 5. This will add to your game an interesting building, a new map, music track and avatar. I really like the new building.
I prefer to play with european countries, but i like this expansion that add new units for sahara when i play with a country from africa or when I am in a war with them. Good!
