Scrabble Classic
 –

LONG Overdue 1st OS X Version*****

First it is great to finally have an OS X / Universal version of the classic Scrabble.

Excellent features include: nice clean simple graphics. Fast. Great to have the offical dictionary, hints, etc.

$20 is a fair price if they will add features listed later in this review.

I turn off the sound so no real comment on that. No distractions needed so the developer should keep the glitz out. Some previous Mac versions had starburst exploding tiles and such - concentrate on keeping the simplicity.

Needed: NETWORK PLAY!!! Several of my family liked this in the past.

Needed: Larger high resolution board views for older eyes - the FULL SCREEN mode has some bad resolution problems and I do not like it taking over the display. Give me a board 1.5x the current with hish resolution board text.

A slightly tilted board option "might" be nice. But don't go heavy on wasted 3-D looks.

One cute / fun feature I recall from previons versions - the face down tiles around the board that one could hand pick if they so chose.

So an excellent first release. Add a bit extra effort into it and DON'T LET IT DIE like previous commercial versions did.
