Fun, but limited.

This is a cute game, but missing something. Limited locations and not much to do, but it is worth playing. Just don't expect a great game.

![]() | – Fun Adventure Game
If you haven't had enough of Egyptian Adventure games, this is a fun one. As you play, you really don't know who the "bad guy" is. Great music, graphics, voices, story & game play. You get all the clues you need while playing, but they can be tricky. Enjoy! by JT&LB, USA - Nov 7th 2015

![]() | – All Puzzles
Played all the Rhem games & yes they are different, but good! What I did not like about this one is that it really lacked a story. You just went around solving hard puzzles, trying to get out of what seemed like a maze. The first Rhem game was the best. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 7th 2015

![]() | – Great Game
We played this game way back in 1997 & loved it then. It is a great mixture of graphics and live action. Tex is a character that you will hate & love! Acting is great, and it's really a fun game to play. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 7th 2015

![]() | – A detective game with a twist.
We played this back in 1994 and we liked it then. Tex is a bitter dectective with many problems, but when you get to know him, you get to like him. This is not the best Tex Murphy game, but it is good fun. Acting is great and you may even see actors you know from the movies. If you like detective stories with humor and some twists, you'll have fun with this one. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 7th 2015

![]() | – Best game ever
We played this game back in 2002 on a PC and thought it was the best game ever. Good story, humor, great graphics (for the time), voice acting, etc. We hold every game we play up to this standard. Don't know what the Mac version is like, and with the passage of time and new tech, it may be dated. But being that we started in 1986 playing text adventures, this was an outstanding game! by JT&LB, USA - Nov 7th 2015

![]() | – Great, but not as good as the original.
Sorry to hear folks are having difficulty playing this game. We played it in 2004 on a PC and liked it very much. It's not as good as the original game, as it seemed darker and more serious, but it is still a great game. My Mac OS doesn't meet the minimum requirements needed, so I can't replay it. I still have the PC discs, but no longer use a PC. Hope they get the bugs out, because it really is fun to play. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 7th 2015

![]() | – Great Adventure Game
Don't know why I never played this back in the day, but am so glad I got to do it now. This is a true adventure game-great story, voice acting, graphics & humor. The game includes the graphic novel, which fills you in on the background, but it makes sense not to read it until your in Day 4 or 5. It has a built in Hint system and a look back at the original game, in Gabe's journal. It was just weird not having use of a cell phone, which makes sense, being it was created 20 years ago. If you like adventure games, play this one. by JT&LB, USA - Jul 22nd 2015

![]() | – A real puzzle of a game!
There are 2 options for playing this game, Junior & Senior. The main difference is in the Senior, you don't get a task list, and the puzzles are more difficult. We played the Junior version. Be aware that if you ask the wrong question, use up all your time, or do the wrong thing, you can end the game. But you are always given a another chance. We are not real Nancy Drew fans, but the pickings are thin for true adventure games. This game is surposed to be non-linear, but it is somewhat linear, as if you don't do one thing, another thing will not happen, even though it has nothing to do with the thing you're trying to do and there is nothing stopping you from doing that one thing. (Got that???) This leads to endless walking around, talking to everyone, over and over. It's as if the programmers didn't consider the many different ways a player could play. There are also a few pixel hunting areas, that could have been programmed better. There are a lot of puzzles to solve - Sudoku, Renograms, and Nonograms, but it is not clear exactly how many you need to do, to fulfill the task. They progressively get harder and can get complicated and mind boggling. I love Sudoku, so I had no problem with these. The instructions on some of the puzzles were lacking. There is one timed puzzle that was hard to figure out what to do. We don't like timed puzzles because there isn't time to think it through! The large Nonogram near the end of the game is extremely frustrating and hurts your eyes! So, if you don't like these kinds of puzzles, don't play this game! All in all, it was a fun game with an interesting story, nice graphics, & characters, but it did become tedious at times. by JT&LB, USA - Jun 7th 2015

![]() | – Well Done & Fun
This truly was a fun game to play. We had played 4 other Broken Sword games, but never this first one. We were glad to see how Nico & George met and then how George met Pearl & Duane for the first time. It has a great story, lots of humor, good graphics and NO bugs. The game-play increased in difficulty as you played, but with a built in hint system, there was no need to look at a walkthrough. We highly recommend this game to anyone who loves true adventure games. By the way, when you finish the game, click on the Templar Cross to learn about how the developer, Revolution, came to be. Being in the computer business in those days, it was very interesting to read. by JT&LB, USA - May 27th 2015

![]() | – Fun but . . .
This game was fun to play, but it had several disappointments. The biggest being that as another reviewer said, it seems unfinished, you don't complete all you set out to do. I played the hardest "Expert Mode" and after a bit, I wished I had played the "Advanced Mode," as I could not skip any of the puzzles. The puzzles were fun, but there were too many "lock pick" puzzles. After a while these got boring. There is a built in "Strategy Guide," which was helpful, but sometimes it did not give clear instructions on what the puzzle objective was. You just had to click on things to see what happens. It crashed on me once during a puzzle, but picked up at the start of the puzzle upon reloading it, which was good. The voices, graphics and story were good, but the story didn't end satisfactorily; and the bonus "Collective Edition" features didn't work. The "Hidden Object" element was used to find items needed to create a disguise, which was a change of pace for the game. All in all, it's a good game, but it seems as if they ran out of money 3/4 of the way through and didn't write a complete ending. I'm updating this review because I went into the game again and took a deeper look at the Strategy Guide. It seems Chapter 11 is missing from this game. The game ended for me on page 97 of the guide, but the guide goes up to page 117. I assume the "Extra," "Play" option is supposed to let you play Chapter 11, but it doesn't work. MacGameStore folks, you really should look into this! I feel cheated!!!!! by JT&LB, USA - Feb 2nd 2015

![]() | – Short but fun
There are 3 modes you can play in. I played in Adventure Mode, the middle choice. The game is good, but too short to really develop the characters. I'm not one who cares about "Achievements," and this game is based on getting them, so part of it's purpose was wasted on me. I play to unravel the story. The puzzles were many and unique, they seemed to get harder with time, but were easy to skip. The "Hidden Object" element came into play nicely, as you had to find all the items you need to solve some of the puzzles. The ending was way too abrupt. You know it's the end, but you do one thing, you see a very short scene & it's over. It just didn't seem satisfying. All in all, it was a fun game to play. by JT&LB, USA - Feb 2nd 2015

![]() | – Solid Adventure Game
This is a fun "true" adventure game! It was great to be back with Nico & George. The game progressed well, with logic, challengers, great voices, humor, intersting characters, unique story, and nice graphics. It has a built in hint system which came in handy, especially on the hard cipher puzzle near the end of the game. All in all it was a lot of fun to play. By the way, after the credits, which included credits for all the languages, they list every investor. This took a very long time. I expected a pay off for letting it run, but there wasn't one, except some of the listed names were quite unique! It is nice to know that so many different folks loved this series so much, that they invested their hard earned money to have another game written. by JT&LB, USA - Jan 14th 2015

![]() | – Great Adventure Game
It was so much fun to spend time with Tex Murphy again. The acting, story, game play, humor, and graphics were great. You get to see all the old Tex Murphy characters and meet a few more. I played the "Casual" difficulty. The first part of the game takes place in Tex's neighborhood and you get to see clips from the previous Tex games. When you get to the Tesla Society, it's like playing a different game-even more fun! The only reason this is not rated a five is because of the "Death Factor." There are just too many things that you have to avoid, which are tedious. Choosing a wrong discussion point or getting too close to a mutant and dying is fine, but avoiding the random giant bees and the blue energy ball was annoying. The other problem was that it was too easy to skip a puzzle, some of which were hard. I mistakenly clicked on the wrong icon twice and skipped the puzzle instead of just exiting from it. It would be nice if they had the words "SKIP" & "EXIT" on the puzzle sceens. The game includes a point system that I didn't pay any attention to, but for some it would make the game more replayable by trying to improve their "Spade and Marlowe scale of private eye intelligence". All in all this is a fun game and I recommend it to any true adventure gamer. by JT&LB, USA - Dec 18th 2014

![]() | – An Arcade Game
I'm not completely finished with the game, nor do I know if I will continue to play it. It's NOT an Adventure game. More like an arcade game where you jump, slide, & run away from monsters, over & over! It is cute & unique, and it does have somewhat of a story, but all the jumping & leaping gets boring. I'm an old fashioned Adventure gamer that loves games that have a great story, graphics and intelligent characters. I wish games like this one, plus Hidden Object games were not included in the Adventure category, just because they have a storyline. If I do finish the game & change my opinion of it, I'll update this review. by JT&LB, USA - Dec 1st 2014

![]() | – Fun Game
This game has a great story line, first rate voice acting, lots of humor, logical flow, great graphics, and good music. It took just a bit of time to realize how the anaylize part worked, but once it was understood, it was really fun to do. Hope they do another like this. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 15th 2014

![]() | – Short but fun.
It's OK- pretty simply-easy to play...no puzzles. This version does not have many of the challengers as written in the walkthrough I found. You can not save the game, it saves by itself. When you return to the game there is a "continue game" option, which is nice. So if you buy it, and get stuck, a walk through may confuse you more than help you. Finished in one day, but it was fun. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 5th 2014

It's OK, but very dark screens; hard to see anything. Timed escape type puzzles. The first game was better. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 5th 2014

![]() | – Very Different Game
It took me a bit of time to warm up to this game. It is hard to rate. We love true adventure games where you have to save the world, etc. This was very different, although you are saving his world! Give it a try. by JT&LB, USA - Nov 5th 2014
