This DLC unlocks more artifacts for the player, which is always cool, but the main selling point is the vastly improved societies it offers. The societies unlocked in this DLC (Hermetic, Monastic, Demon Worshippers, et al.) provide much-needed flavor to any game. As such, this DLC is recommended.

7 Grand Steps: What Ancients Begat

They know their history

The game designers really did a lot of research into ancient history to get the names, places, and events right. I found this game to be compelling, but then I am an Ancient History major. If you are looking for an action packed shoot'em up, forget it. I found it a refreshing break from most war-games. It had an intersting story line, good artwork, and music. It takes a lot of stratgy to keep your family alive and porsperous.
