XCOM 2: War of the Chosen Icon
A comprensive upgrade for an allready awesome game!!
by hunkster, Australia - Nov 9th 2018

This upgrade is as good if not better than XCOM Enemy Within. Some great additions and strategy levels here make the game even more enthralling and challenging. The game just never gets dull and that is saying something given the length of the campaigns.

Having said all that, don't pay full price for this expansion, wait for a sale.

XCOM 2 Icon
Awesome, Awesome
by hunkster, Australia - Apr 26th 2018

It was always going to be a challenge to surpass the exellent 2012 release of XCOM. XCOM 2 easily meets this challenge. The release keeps the addicting elements of the older game and also improves it. The micro game is better, more options and more variation to keep this part as engaging as ever. The macro game is also much improved and a lot more interesting. The only down side is that you will need a pretty decent system to run this, the 2012 release was a lot more efficient than this one. All in all, a fantastic addition to the XCOM series which will keep you playing long into the night.

Age of Wonders III Collection Icon
It Grows on You
by hunkster, Australia - Feb 2nd 2018

At first I wasn't that impressed with AOW III - it just dosn't look as epic and well designed as other big time sellers in this category. The more I played it however, I realised that the game draws you in with it's combination of fantasy, empire building and warfare. The game also takes on an RPG game flavor with the various heroes that lead your armies. I thought the video reviews on Gamespot and IGN really undersold this game and the depth behind it. On special, this game is a bargain at twice the price.

Total War: MEDIEVAL II – Definitive Edition Icon
Epic Game
by hunkster, Australia - Jan 25th 2016

MTW II has been a long time coming to the Mac and it is the best of the Total War games in my opinion. Epic battles, great strategy, great looking units, this game will keep you entertained for hours.

Total War: ROME II: Emperor Edition Icon
A must buy!!
by hunkster, Australia - Oct 2nd 2014

For me this is easily the best Total War game to date. The developers have taken a lot of cues from Civilization V to transform the stategy from just building big armies and conquering. It can take a bit of time to get familier with the new strategy but there is so much to like about this game. Only critique is that It runs a little slow but I am hoping a RAM upgrade (or software update) will fix that. Overall, a must buy for anyone who likes strategy/RTS games.

Tropico 4: Gold Edition Icon
You just have to love it!!
by hunkster, Australia - Jul 31st 2014

If you are into strategy/city builders this is the game for you. First of all the graphics and setting are simply gorgeous, you will feel like you have been on vacation in Tropico just playing it. Second, it is a strategy game with character and humour. The game has enough strategy to keep it serious but you will just love El Presidente and his underlings. Overall a tremendous strategy game that is worth every cent!!!

Civilization V: The Complete Edition Icon
Great Game
by hunkster, Australia - Apr 21st 2014

Civilization V is quite simply the best strategy game I have ever played, allthough you do need to get the complete edition to properly enjoy it. This game basically has everything, combat, politics, economics, technology, intrigue, religion, culture and much more. There are so many angles to this game that you will be on your intellectual toes the whole game.

The game sounds and looks impressive, it could run a bit faster, but apart from that you can think of yourself sculpting a work of art through building your civilisation. The only major downside to this game is that hours seem to go by in seconds while playing it.

Overall though, if you like strategy games then this game is an absolute must!!!

Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition Icon
One of the best superhero games ever!!
by hunkster, Australia - Jan 9th 2014

I usually stear away from movie/superhero games but Batman:Arkham City is the exception. The game is gritty, dark, ever humorous and you after a while you really do feel like you are Batman, beating up thugs and saving the hapless citizens of Arkham City.

Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World Icon
by hunkster, Australia - Jan 8th 2014

In many ways the Brave New World expansion should have been a part of the original game - the culture and diplomatic victories are now much more interesting and exciting than before. The down side is that this upgrade makes Civ 5, very very addictive..beware!

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Deluxe Edition Icon
More greatness!!
by hunkster, Australia - Apr 27th 2013

Assassins Creed 2 is a touch act to follow, but if you loved AC 2, you will have a lot of fun with this. Rome is a big attraction for me, as was Florence and Venice in AC 2. Overall a great game and hours of entertainment.
